I’m two months into a cross country road trip and have visited hundreds of shops. I wandered in while visiting old sac this last week and Evangeline’s costume mansion is my favorite shop so far that I’ve visited on my travels. Absolutely incredible. If you are a fan of weird and mysterious novelty shops, stop in. They have tons of fun areas to explore on three floors and the costumes are incredible and priced surprisingly great for the quality of the items they have. Highly, highly recommend!

Been shopping here for over 20 years. Must go for anyone visiting the area. My most recent visit, there was some art on display that was out of stock on the shelf. An associate went in the back and found one for me! I've always loved shopping here for gifts and little trinkets. Fan fave for life!!

A unique experience. This is not a standard costume shop like the "spirit Halloween shop", that comes around once a year.
I was impressed. Again based on my experiences with costume shops in New Orleans during Mardi gras.
3 floors of costumes and merchandise. To much to describe and explain. So I will place my photos here and you can look.
You have to experience this place first hand.
This shop is located in the oldest existing building from the mid 1800's in Old Sacramento.

My favorite costume store. They have so many full costume sets, individual costume pieces, accessories, and downstairs nick nacs. Every level has its sections of style (steampunk, festival, pirate, etc)
My only negative is it gets kind of crowded and can be hard to get around when it's busy.

Man this place. It's happiness the moment you walk in. I've been going here since I was a kid in the 90's. Almost 30 years later and I feel like a kid all over again when I visit. Nostalgia and the same fun and quirky merch. The staff is always pretty cool and friendly when you're making a purchase. This past week when I visited made me realize this place needs its flowers for being a staple in old sac and in Sacramento in general. And, of course, the prices are still affordable BUT keep in mind the costumes during Halloween can be pricey but with it!

Cool little shop you can buy gifts, souvenirs, and gag items. There’s plenty of things to see and overall a good place to spend some time.

This place is a staple here in Old Sac. The go to place for unique things and especially costumes and that is what we needed today. They have several floors of outfits and great stuff to look at and buy. We were going to a Disco party and needed some outfits. Some people go all out at these events so we didn't want to disappoint the crowd. I had called ahead and the girl said they had a lot of stuff for Disco on the third floor. My wife and I went up there and found lots of stuff. We picked out the ones we liked and tried them on it the dressing rooms. They are in the back. They fit but needed a little TLC. No problem since my wife can sew. We got the two outfits and we were the hit of the Disco Ball. Sweet. So many compliments on our outfits. The place to go for costumes and they were not too much money.

Did not expect to find this gem. Just walked in thought it looked cool. Every aisle is something refreshing and unique! The main store has all these ornate costumes with various themes like cleopatra, saloon, warriors, etc. the other store is like a gag gift store but on steroids. I've never seen any store this tapped in to quirky things. Like we saw a whole section dedicated to avocado items and a book dedicated to Timothee Chalamet

Evangeline's Costume Mansion is one of the biggest stores in Old Sacramento, as their name says. They have lots of costumes in the store at reasonable prices. This vast store has three retail spaces connected together. They have different types of costumes carried at different sections of the store. Of course, they have lots of other souvenirs all over the store. The salespersons at Evangeline's Costume Mansion are all very helpful. They are friendly and answer any questions you might have related to the merchandise they have in there. The store is busy most of the time. You can easily spend an hour or longer in there. It is hard not to visit this store if you're looking for costumes or other souvenirs in Old Sacramento.
