The room was a bit outdated and the TV didn't work. However the staff were very friendly and helpful. They didn't hesitate to fix the TV problem when brought to their attention, they were all very polite and respectable, the staff here really made this the best hotel I've stayed at in a while. I will definitely be happy to stay here again.

We checked in pretty late and just went to bed, so we didn't check the room out. In the morning we discovered a massive issue; mold all over the room and someone else hair all over the bathroom. The bathroom was in a particularly distressing state, with hair scattered throughout the shower, suggesting a lack of thorough cleaning between guests. Additionally, the ventilation fan was caked with a thick layer of dust and mold, which is unacceptable under any circumstance, more so in a hospitality setting where cleanliness should be paramount.Despite these glaring issues, what compounded our disappointment was the hotel management's response—or, more accurately, the lack of it. Attempts to address these concerns directly with the motel were met with indifference. Promises of a callback from the General Manager remained unfulfilled, leaving us with no recourse to resolve the issues encountered during our stay. For guests considering a stay at this establishment, I would urge you to reconsider. The lack of cleanliness, potential health hazards, and the management's indifference to guest concerns make it impossible for me to recommend the Econo Lodge in Sacramento.

Awful experience at this place. I found my room dirty after the check in time. They DO NOT offer breakbast although I paid for breakast in my booking and it was supposed to be included. Staff is very rude and unhelpful. There is a microwave in the rooom but no containers to microwave food or drinks. I asked for one the the staff and they said they didn't have any. They are very strict with check in an check out times. I would never book again with them!Safety: Not a safe confortable area.

Lady at the front desk discriminated against me as a stranded traveler. She claimed there were no vacancies and it was very clear that she was lying with a smirk on her face. In an area where cars get broken into every night. I'll let the pictures of the filth speak for itself.

I came here on a last minute trip to Sacramento. I needed a hotel downtown and was in such of a hurry, I did not check any reviews about the property. I knew something was up when I walked toward the property and saw it from the outside. I've been in cheap hotels before but I had no idea that I was coming to this. The room was the filthiest room I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some cheap hotels in the past. There were hairs in the bed that were not mine. Holes in the walls. The toilet was brown and dirty. I called the front desk and told them about the issues and all they did was send a housekeeper to my room with "clean" sheets. To be honest, I don't even know if they were really clean and slept in all of my clothes--including socks. I even went to the Target a few blocks away to get something clean to sleep on because I did not trust it.The room smelled like old dirty cigarettes and arm pits. The microwave stayed on unless you disconnected the plug. The TV was leaning and not straight and did not have any sound coming from it. They ripped me off.I paid almost $200 for two nights in this dump and wish I would have just gotten an AirBnB like I originally planned.I also want to add, that, as seen in my photos, there are tons of exposed wires in the room and the smoke detector has been removed as well. I was concerned for my safety as well as the safety of future guests as well. This is why I am on here going so hard on this review.I can't do anything about the neighborhood or anything like that--but the room was atrocious and I am warning you, please, if you have to stay in Sacramento downtown--get an AirBNB before you stay at this dump. Learn from my mistake. I will leave pictures of the room below.I was not expecting much from an EconoLodge but this was the worst. It should at least be cleaned and maintained if they are charging that much for a dump per night. What really gets me is that when I complained, no one cared or wanted to help but they quickly took my money. This really makes me reconsider staying at Choice Hotels in the future and I travel a lot--last minute. They promote this dump on thier website and obviously do not know what is going on here. I cannot even call them to give them a heads up about one of their properties. Please beware and do not make the mistake that I made...if the management sees my review, you do not have to respond. You didn't respond when I called you to tell you what kind of room I had. You don't have to show off for Google. People will see what kind of place I stayed at according to the pictures that I posted.Once again, travelers, beware.

I've stayed at this location a handful of times and have always been satisfied. This time was completely different...the walls were visibly dirty, back of the front and bathroom door look as those they have never been wiped down, a fairly large hole in the ceiling above the shower and when inspected further after returning from our event we saw fuzzy spiky mold growing inside. We checked out a day early, management offered another room but I wasn't willing to try again. Please don't waste your money here

I stayed at the Econo Lodge three times and found it to be a great choice for my needs. While it's not a fancy or 5-star hotel, it suited me perfectly. I was in Sacramento for a one-day business trip, and all I required was a well-priced, clean hotel nearby. The Econo Lodge met these requirements on all my visits. It felt very clean to me, and the staff at the reception were very nice and polite. Strangely, I even slept better there than in my fancy home! Although there was some noise from cars and occasionally noisy neighbors, I still found it comfortable. I would recommend it to any business traveler, but not for those looking for a honeymoon experience.Rooms: Ok, for my needs. clean and simple. All I wanted was a good shower and good sleep

It was a great value spot to stay. Was it a little dated in some spots? Sure, but the bed was reasonably comfy and it was walkable to a ton of stuff. Unfortunately, my TV had no sound though, but outside of that it was a mostly uneventful stay. I'd stay again, especially at the price.Nearby activities: Lots of food, beer, and coffee options nearby. It's also walkable to 3 of Sacramento's theater stages.

2/23/2024 Front desk got me to my room within 5 minutes. I got room 111, check out the pictures (9). Room was clean, I could smell the disinfectant. Room has: microwave, small refrigerator, TV was small (25"? IDK), iron, ironing board and hair dryer. The heater/AC and TV remote worked. I really like the desk and I could watch TV. Room walls were dated and could use a paint job.Room cost was low enough I could afford a few days.Hotel is in downtown and close to everything, Ace of Spades and Golden 1 Center is about a mile away (20 minute walk). I'm going to see Madonna tomorrow at the Golden 1 Center. Plenty of fast food restaurants nearby.I recommend Econo Lodge for an inexpensive place to stay. I gave it 4 stars because the room could use a paint, but, I am not that picky. I'm just happy I can afford it and I can hang out in Sacramento for 3 days. 4 stars is still a good score.Rooms: CleanNearby activities: Ace of Spades and Golden 1 Center are nearby. State Capitol is nearby. The are lots of bars and restaurants nearby.Safety: I feel safe right now. I've been in the area before and there are sketchy people going up and down 16th St. Watch you surroundings as usual.Walkability: Walkability is easy. Light rail and busses are nearby.Food & drinks: Hotel has a soda machine and working ice machine; I can't believe it, many hotels have broken machines or don't have one. 7-11 is down the street. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. There is a CVS and BevMo stores nearby.

Econo Lodge is a basic motel that is near the Governor's Mansion that doesn't have a swimming pool, but it has continental breakfast instead. I was assigned Room #109, a one-bed room at the main building on the bottom floor near the vending machines. The room offered a 32-inch flat screen TV with Dish Network, an old phone, a microwave with no rotating plate and a medium sized hotel fridge. The room was clean all-around, but the bathroom was out of shape, with cracked walls. The toilet and seat, even though very clean, seemed to have damage but they still work, but the bathtub's drain cover did not work. There was also a dislodged spring at the top right of the bed which I almost hurt myself from. The vending machines outside worked and the breakfast offered a good variety, including eggs. Because of the need for repairs, I'm giving this 2.5 stars.

A group of men outside screaming and singing all night, they were speaking so loud and saying all kinds of things. Bathroom wasn’t clean. Service was good. Bed was ok, room was good. But so much noise :/Nearby activities: A lot of noise around

The owners and managers are amazing. The parking is a bit tight. The building is older but the rooms are always clean and well maintained.

We left after one night due to bugs in the room. Room appeared clean enough when we checked in.

DO NOT GO HERE! My wife and I recently stayed here on our last trip to Sacramento. We loved our trip and all the things we did, but absolutely hated coming back to this disgusting hotel. The walls were almost sticky with the layers of crusted dirt smashed into the texture. The bathrooms had mold in the corners, with cracked paint and drywall throughout. There was a huge barely painted over crack in the wall from where the door was recently smashed into the wall. We slept one night in that room and went home needing a very long shower. Also watch out for any cracks or busted windows in the parking lot. The roof is just a huge layer of tar with some dirt and rocks over it. It looks like it may have been a concrete rooms before the years of degradation. We knew it was going to be a bad stay when we pulled around the corner and you could see the quality of lightning drop significantly.
