Today 9/12/2024 I needed some paint for a door project at home. Employee Tom was very helpful, knowledgeable and common sense type guy. I appreciate him.

Today I went with my great grandson to your store. The lady who help me was super friendly and helpful. When I was checking out my grandson talked me into a squirting water gun. I am such a sucker. After we paid the bill the cashier took my grandson out front where there was a bucket of water and showed him how to use the squirt gun. Now that is good customer relations. It is also the reason your store store beats the pants off Home Depot

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a customer at any store due to very hostile employees. I originally purchased around $120 of various safety equipment along with supplies to clean up possible spills of hazardous materials. On my way to the checkout stand with my hands full, I asked an employee about the price of a large box fan and asked if he would be able to assist me with carrying the fan to the register as my hands were completely full. This gentleman was very kind and was happy to assist me which I was grateful for. I missed his name but he was wearing glasses and working on 7/22/24 around 11:30am. He was the bright spot in this experience.
After a cashier, Michaela, checked me out and driving 20 minutes to get home I checked the receipt and realized I was charged 2 times for the single tarp I purchased. Thinking it was a simple mistake and knowing everyone makes errors here and there I called the store and spoke with the gentleman who had helped me carry the fan to the checkstand, he recognized that it was a mistake and there was no where for me to be carrying a 2nd tarp along with everything else. I asked for a refund and he agreed there had been a mistake made by Ace Hardware and I was entitled to a refund of the extra charge. He asked me to return to the store to process the refund, which I felt was unnecessary as I had asked for them to rectify their mistake. Being an understanding person I didn't push back and let him know I'd be back in there store later that day. I was unaware this location closes at 7pm, earlier than any other hardware store that serves all but the most casual customers. I was able to get off work early enough to get their just before they closed today 7/24 just before close and was met with 3 staff members who immediately acted like I was a criminal attempting to scam them into refunding me. I explained that they had made a clear mistake, an employee spoke on the phone confirming that, and that I had gone far out of my way despite having a busy schedule to allow them to fix their mistake. Eventually the female manager on duty begrudgingly agreed to process my refund, which to reiterate was entirely the fault of the business. I told them if it made things simpler they could simply process an exchange as I needed to purchase something else while I was there. As I walked away I could clearly hear the 3 employees disparaging me and insulting me saying I was lying about being double charged. I was absolutely stunned to hear them speak about me like that after I had gone so far out of my way to be a reasonable person and not blame any individual involved in the transaction, while allowing Ace Hardware to make things right. I had every right to have contacted my bank when I got home and fully dispute the charge as it was not an accurate charge and I didn't receive all of the items I was charged for and would have likely been refunded for the full $144 I was charged. Rather than jump to conclusions I took time out of my day to treat others as human beings and not get upset. Despite that, I was treated like a criminal the second I walked in and made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome in the store.
If you don't look like a picturesque example of a rich resident of East Sac and have to leave work early to get to the store before they close because you work hard and long hours, expect to be treated poorly by the female manager on duty at 6:35 on 7/25/24, the cashier named Katie, and a 3rd younger male employee. I will never be giving this store my time or money and I will make sure others know my experience. I'll be sharing this experience with the corporate Ace Hardware division to hopefully ensure nobody else is either scammed nefariously, or is treated terribly when trying to let the company fix their own mistake.

Thank you to Tom especially who went above and beyond helping me size some dowels. The closing staff was also very friendly and gracious on another visit when I pulled up 3 minutes before closing to grab an item. They are all great!

Lovely customer service every time I've gone, usually I can find what I need or at least something I can use if not the exact item I'm looking for.

I have shopped here several times as it's my local hardware store, but I was never a big fan after their move. The old guys and gals at the last Ace were more personable, friendly, and helpful -- something one would expect from a local shop. Today, I was kindly greeted as I walked into Ace and asked if I needed help. I said, yes, I need assistance, please; I need two keys made. The associate directed to the paint counter where the keys are made. As I was walking to the paint counter, one of the store associates had her head in the freezer like an ostrich, no joke. The ostrich worker was running around and ran into her "friend" who needed help in the plumbing department. The ostrich worker then pulls "Hugo" in the paint department away from me to help her "friend." The customer said he could wait if Hugo needed to help me. The Ostrich worker then replied to her friend that she would help me. I left because I was tired of waiting and was never personally acknowledged by the ostrich after about several minutes. So here I am writing the review. I will take my business to a big box store that is willing to help me at a lower price, too. I'm fed up with their attitude at this Ace and will make the extra drive to have a better experience and save money. Not all of the employees are bad apples here, but there are a few rotten ones.

Extremely helpful staff at East Sac Ace Hardware. I have had excellent customer service here and appreciate how big the store is and what they have on hand. They have ordered things for me, which all worked great. Happy to stay far away from the soulless big box nightmares...Thank you!

They were so rude. I was trying to find a yeti cap for my yeti and they did not want to help me out. They looked at me like I was some alien and then as I’m walking out the door with my own yeti some man young boy tried to grab my yeti out of my hands like it was theirs like I was trying to steal very very rude people. I would not suggest to go to this Ace Hardware at all, I went in with my workout clothes on and they looked at me like they were better than me rude, rude rude, rude

I ask if Ace would help to put my antique lamp in working order, even though Ace does not repair things, I met a nice young man named Hugo who offered to help a elderly person with her lamp! He was patient and had great customer service skills! Thank You Hugo!
