The 2.3 yelp rating for this DMV is clearly coming from ill mannered haters. My previous DMV experiences were with the Florin Rd and Broadway DMVs. They weren't mean but they didn't go out of their way to help me like the South Sac DMV did. This is the BEST DMV I have ever been to. Yesterday (3/18) I arrived at 10:00AM and there was a massive crowd. The line was out the door. They handled the exceptionally large crowd efficiently and professionally. I was genuinely surprised at how quickly my number was called. I had multiple things to take care of and had to go to multiple windows. Everyone was courteous and professional. They even got an issue with my old CA license scrubbed for me. I had to come back today (3/19) with my new glasses for the vision test. This time I arrived at 9 am and was in and out very quickly. I was pleased that the greeter/customer sorter remembered me from yesterday and was just as nice today. The lady that administered my vision test let me redo my picture. I legit looked like a melted monster in the photo I took the day before. The gentleman that took my photo was nice. I asked to speak with a supervisor to give a compliment to everyone that helped me yesterday and today and he directed me to window 12 to scan a QR code that led to a survey so just in case the staff doesn't get the info I am leaving this review. To anyone that has to go to the DMV, help yourself by familiarizing yourself with what you need before you go. I did an online chat with Alissa who was very nice but unfortunately gave me wrong info so I wasn't as prepared as I could have been. Being polite and personable goes a long away. I gave out patience and kindness and I received it back from everyone I interacted with at this DMV. Thank you to the gentleman in the written test section who explained the difference between the temporary license I got yesterday and the interim license I was given today, for a moment I thought I was given the provisional license , which is for juveniles. To potential visitors, be advised that in March 2024 there are loads of folks coughing up a storm while they are waiting to be helped. a lot of them aren't covering their mouths which is nasty. Don't be afraid to mask up. I did. I was the only non employee with a mask (N95). I'll probably be the only one that won't be going home with COVID. I was able to hold my breath while they took my photo because they are fast. BTW The more times you catch COVID you increase your chance of catching long COVID which could turn you into feeling like a senior citizen overnight while you are only in your 20s, 30s or 40s. Anyway Keep up the great work South Sac DMV. You gave me a warm welcome back to CA. I am a woman of color and I love that this multi racial DMV provided the best DMV and governmental agency experience I have ever had. You guys are crushing it!

Today, February 16, I went for a license procedure to which I was attended by a very unfriendly person with a bad temper and bad character. He was a person over 30, a man with dark hair, window 11. Apparently he had not had a good day, I would just like him to You see that they are not volunteers, they have a salary because the poor attention was so great that I decided to leave the process if someone wants to go and does not know English and is an immigrant like me, it is not the right place to go or at least not with that person, I hope my review helps you to improve

Went in to help my dad with a drive test. He didn't expect good customer service but also didn't expect leaving pissed off either. The guy that checked us in was rude and impatient(young, white, and tall). Treated us like we were the dumbest people in the world while he was the one who didn't know what to do. Keep repeating the same thing over and over while I was trying to offer different solutions. He ended up grabbing someone to help him out. We didn't carry proof of citizenship with us because it wasn't needed for a drive test. But he kept asking for it, and thought we don't understand because I have a slight accent. Turn out we don't need it, and it's only asked because it's needed for real ID, and we weren't there for that. The only saving grace is that our examiner was super patient, friendly, and kind.

I had my drivers test at this centre. The examiner (Kelly) was very kind and professional, which made me feel comfortable during the actual test. She gave me valuable feedback on the areas I could improve on. All in all, a great testing experience!

I lost my original document I got copies and work authorization original approval latter manager let me renew my license I had test c class I failed then again I try pay fees 4 days later same manger refused to accept documents I called police officer he come regular dmv I called police she start work again my documents officer said they can’t accept he doesn’t what going without knowing he got dmv side .

Staff at the windows are really patient and kind. Waiting process didn't take long at all. The lines moved forward and the numbers were called and everything was set into motion. But when it comes to the testing area, it's loud, and crowded. The duration of the time i was testing, one of the Staff is yelling at everyone who was filling their applications, which happens to be in the same room.

Been waiting for my registration for my car to be renewed and they haven't given me any notice for me to go smog, my vehicle, nor renewal to my registration and they are automatically putting a late fee on my account when I haven't received my first notification

This location is horrible, I've been here several times unfortunately because each time I go in the employee will give me a different answer. One issue I had was correcting a license plate issue I was told three different things by three different people. It didn't get solved until finally I went to a different dmv. I had to come back here to renew a license where they double charged me and just expected me to pay twice to complete the transaction I literally paid $45 twice to get my license renewed. Every single interaction with an employee here has been rude unhelpful and bizarre. I've had horrible photos taken here where my eyes are literally closed, yesterday the guy taking the photo rushed me over had me step back before I even got my feet into the footprints. He already flashed the picture are you kidding me give me a second the photo was taken with my arms up in the air WTH there was nobody behind me. There was no rush. This was so unnecessary . Since the photo was so ridiculous he "allowed" me to take another to correct it, this time he gave me 2.5 seconds to get ready .I loathe this location. I will commute anywhere else next time and you should too!

Very efficient process. Just be sure to do as much as you can online, then make an appointment.
