They were so helpful and informative, I received reminder texts and emails containing information that thoroughly explained what to expect on the day of his procedure as well as detailed post-op instructions. Everyone there is so kind and compassionate. It’s evident how much they care about the pet and owner experience.”

“The Sac Zoo located in William Land Park is not very large (about 14 acres) but it's definitely a great way to spend a few hours on the weekend.
There is a reptile house, large animals like giraffes, kangaroos, lions, zebras, etc. Plenty of bird exhibits including a lot of flamingos and an often raucous parrot enclosure. A few simian exhibits and more.
There is a kiddie train, a carousel, and a restaurant with indoor and outdoor tables.
A few notes.. if you're visiting in the summer it's best to go earlier in the day as many of the animals will be less active and often take shelter as the day gets hotter.
If you live nearby consider getting a season pass. For the price of about two visits you can go as often as you like.
Land Park is quite large and directly across from the Zoo is Fairlytale Town. A little further away is Funderland Amusement Park. So it's easy to turn your trip into an all day adventure.
The Zoo does not have parking but there is plenty of parking directly across from the zoo and throughout Land Park. SacRT also has a bus stop directly in front of the zoo.
There is a plan to move the zoo to Elk Grove but that was just approved and won't happen for a number of years.”

“This is such a an amazing place and was for me like the only vacation I've ever had in life even though I had had a baby who was premature and that is the reason I was there. So many good memories here. Thank you so much for being so kind and for all the free blankets, food, drinks place to sleep everything!”

“A worthy bike shop to check out when looking for a used bicycle and/or bicycle parts. A good resource for affordable used bike parts whether it be for your road bike, your mountain bike or cruiser. They have everything from tires, to derailleurs, seat posts, bearings, and quick releases. You can find the smallest mechanical parts, the essentials, and everything in between. You can pay $5 to work on your bike there, but bring your own tools just to be on the safe side.”

“We were in town for a music show and this place is a gem. Well kept and the people running it are super sweet. Check out musical instruments the way you'd check out books at a library. They have a lot of events there, space to do recording, and quite a few instruments. Coolest venue I've been to by a long shot. What a great idea for the community!”

“Forever Young is a very special place for our family. The staff are some of the warmest, kindest, most caring individuals who go above and beyond to ensure each child is cared for and loved. My son started there when he was 4 months old and continued on into the toddler room. When he aged out, it felt like we were moving away from family. I could not recommend FY enough.”

The office was clean and the clinic was very discreet I felt very safe and respected here they do so much for you and any needs you have . I first had stopped in just for information and a bit of direction because I was lost and didn’t know where to visit for care or how to find a good ob but they give you so much information and resources. “5 things to know before you go:1. SFTB is a non-profit organization and that is exactly what the staff is doing- non-profitting. They are paid minimum wage to do the job of 5 or more people, so if you are receiving services, please keep this in mind. Every single person in this building is working there for the love of what they do: helping others. Unfortunately, this means that services (especially when working with government agencies) may be slower than a profiting doctor's office or clinic. 2. Two new doctors and a new director are now running the low-vision clinic (as of Fall 2023). 3. The store, although conveniently located on-site, is not part of SFTB; they work together to help patients and customers find what equipment works best for them but are not owned by this non-profit. 4. Everyone. Everyone. Let me say it again: Every.single.person is overworked and underpaid. They do this for the love of others and the low vision and blind community. Finding people who are willing to do this work for the minimum they are paid in this day and age is almost impossible, and yet they keep the lights on. 5. There are few, if ANY, cures for low vision or blindness. This non-profit will not heal your vision problems, perform procedures, or cure you of your vision issues. If you have this expectation upon arrival, you will be disappointed. It is a rehabilitation center that allows someone with novel or familiar vision loss to navigate the world around them (in a new way) when they are ready. They teach classes (like cooking, navigating, and basic skills), offer resources and the doctors in the low vision clinic make recommendations for equipment that can assist a person with vision loss, instead of having them rely on guessing which type of magnifier or device works while wasting money. Think of it like not knowing what size clothing you wear, going to a seamstress and having them tell you exactly what size dress, pants or other will fit you so that you don't go buying unnecessary items. Vision loss is a spectrum and everyone has different needs; the doctors here can pinpoint, through assessment, what these needs for that individual are and help guide them. This place is called a Society because of the community that has grown from its selfless acts of service and its benefit to those who want to be treated no different than a sighted person. So, if you understand all of this going in, I think that your experience there will be much more rewarding. It is a wonderful, loving, and humorous place that advocates for people while helping them find their way. It is a place to gain support and knowledge for those struggling with vision loss. Please be kind.”

“Fantastic place, went in for the eyeglass voucher program, Brandy (I believe was her name) was so kind and helpful, helped me pick out a pair of frames and get them ordered. I have also come by for the clothing closet in the past, and everyone is so nice and courteous. No one looks down on you or treats you disrespectfully. I can not say enough about the staff and how much they help people who are down on their luck. Anyone who says differently is either angry that they couldn't get exactly what they wanted or is just an angry person. This place is so helpful to the community they serve and is staffed by amazingly caring individuals. To anyone needing any of their services, I would say go in right away, you will be treated with nothing but kindness, and they bend over backward to help in any way they can. THANK YOU FRANCIS HOUSE!”

“Downtown Sacramento has been a fun place in the last few years, followed by Golden 1 Center finish and DOCO - Downtown Commons remodeled with K Street mall. Many more areas in Sacramento Downtown turned into the food, drink, and entertainment district. Sacramento downtown uses a ghost town after the office workers leave at 5 pm every weekday and the entire weekend. Not many people want to go downtown after sunset or on the weekend. But things are completely changed in the last few years. The businesses in Downtown Sacramento are bustling every night and weekend. The district is even more crowded when they are an event in Downtown Sacramento. Sometimes I have trouble finding parking spaces. The meters parking or parking garages are changing event parking fees. It is a lot more expensive than the standard time! The only problem is that Sacramento's downtown area is the same as the other California cities. Lots of homeless! I hope this problem will be resolved soon!”

“Back in 2013 I was a guest at this location. Because of the shelter and meals they provided I was able to acqire a job/career put my shattered life back together and save up the money to get an apartment of my own to bring my family back home. (Because of the conflict overseas they had bern stranded in Ukraine for 2 years). This facility was a major game changer for me abd I honestly don't know what I would have done without it.”
