I had a bad experience a couple of weeks ago and as I drove by the post office just now I thought to check if there were any reviews online. I couldn't have been the only dissatisfied customer. The fellow who works there is downright rude. My exchange with him was bad from when didn't greet me. We traded barbs at least five or six times and on my way out the door I muttered, and should've shouted, there's a reason you're a civil servant - you could only work for the federal government! While that location is is convenient for me, I will go to Saint Helena or Oakville before I go back to Rutherford.

I wanted to write this review after I got my new passport. I went here on February 16th, 2023. The worker named Jesse clerk #9 was insanely rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, kept rolling his eyes, taking sarcastically deep breaths, grinding his teeth, and rushing me when I was literally 20 minutes early for my passport appointment. When I got there, he basically told me I had to fix some things with my passport application and so I had to ask him a few clarifying questions. The whole time he kept walking away to do something else in the most irritated fashion. I don't want google to sensor this review, but I basically heard him in the back say to his co worker; "this guy I'm trying to help outside is such and such" and it was obvious he was talking about me when I was literally still in the room. I really don't get why he was acting like that, so I asked him what his problem was and he immediately got defensive and threatened to kick me out because I guess his feelings got hurt. And maybe I should have just left right then because I had to trust him with my personal information. He also made more snarky comments throughout the interaction such as "that wasn't the question" when I tried to hand him a pre-made passport photo from Walgreens just to make me pay for a new one. And just as I'm leaving, I barely heard him mumble under his breath "get outta here." I wonder who hired that guy. Pick a different job if you don't wanna interact with people. I honestly hope he was having a bad day and has more bad days. Definitely not coming back here again.

The absolute rudest USPS I have ever been to. I didn't catch the guys name, but judging from the other responses I'm thinking Jesse is a safe bet. He was insanely rude and condescending. I try to support USPS over FedEx/UPS because they provide a critical service, but y'all need to do better. This station has always been insanely rude.

Went here on February 16th 2023. The worker named Jesse clerk #9 was extremely rude, unprofessional, kept rolling his eyes, taking sarcastic deep breaths, grinding his teeth, and rushing me when I was 20 minutes early for my passport appointment and kept walking away the whole time over a few simple questions. I really don’t get what he was so mad about, he even threatened to kick me out just for asking what his problem was and he immediately got all defensive. Yeah, I’m going to be asking questions before handing you my personal info, get over it. I wonder who hired that guy. Definitely not coming back here again.

WORST experience of my life. I went for the first time to get my information processed for my passport and know nothing about the process. Clerk #9, Jesse or Jessie, however you spell it was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would ask questions and he would answer my questions in the absolute rudest way possible. “That’s whY I sAiD x” or “How ShOUlD I KnOw?” Has ZERO customer service manners. I read another review that said a similar thing and it’s unfortunate to hear that this guy chooses to have a bad attitude everyday. Most uncomfortable and ridiculous experience of my life. Clearly whoever hired him has zero standards for employees given how horrible of an attitude he has and how he acts. I didn’t know that they keep the birth certificates so I asked for it back and since they keep it for my passport I said that’s fine. But when I asked for a copy he didn’t say “Yeah sure no problem! A copy is a dollar.” He responded WITH an attitude and said “ThAt’S gOinG tO bE a DoLlAr” ANY question that arose an attitude was present. As if he thought he was going to process my information without me having questions. Hire better people. Do better. This guy should be fired immediately. Left crying. Thanks for the garbage experience. ? in addition this guy was playing his own personal music and it felt more like a living room than a professional establishment. I’ve never been to a post office that allows their employees to play their own person music, rap music. I love rap music but I don’t play it at my job when I’m supposed to be working with customers.

I have used the Rutherford PO for convenience on several occasions because, while I love the people and service that I receive in St. Helena, it is more difficult to get boxes up the stairs, etc. I stopped at Rutherford today with a box because I go there occasionally and I love Zoe who used to work there. But this time, I was treated with rudeness to a degree that I have never experienced before in any PO in the valley. Jesse was not friendly which was ok but then when I attempted to tamp down the sticker that he put on my box that was on the scale, he freaked out and told me to keep my hands out of the space of the box because I was invading his space and he felt threatened. I asked him what he thought I was going to do since all I did was press on a sticker on my box. He went on about how he didn't like people grabbing their box (which I hadn't done) and said he didn't know what I was going to do to him, but that he had come from SF and wasn't used to people here crossing into his space. I asked him if he thought I was going to assault him or something, which seemed pretty paranoid since I am an older woman who is usually quite friendly. He definitely went off on some personal issue that he apparently has with people touching their box on the scale or entering his space as if they are going to grab him. I found the entire interaction very strange and definitely will not be going to that PO again. Back to St. Helena.

Awful service. I arrived today for my passport appointment 10 minutes ahead of time and was still rushed and treated rudely by the lady. The lady had a terrible attitude and made us seem as if we had no importance. We were charged an additional $30 for their "service" --which we understand if that is the process-- but then yet charged us $3 more for 1 or 2 copies. As we were going to pay for the $3, she mentioned she had no change, and it was then when a courteous man behind us who offered to pay but she yet continued to embarrass us as if we did not have $3. We went back to the car to pay the $3 but she yet did not change her obstinate personality. We understand that unexpected things can come from time to time and can change our mood in an instant but that is no reason for why to let anger out and treat your customers with direct or even passive aggressiveness.

We discovered our local USPS branch wasn't open today, so we went here instead, When we arrived, parking was sparse, so I ran in while my boyfriend parked the car. I waited at the counter for several minutes and looked around for someone to help me. Only after another customer came in and we began chatting did someone come out to assist. Unfortunately, he was immediately rude and defensive towards me, saying he hadn't heard or seen anyone there. I replied, "Hey, it's no problem. It's all good... I think?" (after seeing the angry, put-off expression on his face). He then took a tone with me when explaining my options for shipping. He abruptly cut me off when I inquired about an option and was so rude that I stopped the transaction, allowing the woman behind me to go first because I didn't want to deal with his attitude and needed a moment to process the whole interaction. At this point, my boyfriend came in after finding parking. The employee completely changed his tune and was overly nice to both of us. Okay. The sudden shift in his mood and tone was disconcerting but decidedly better than dealing with the attitude he had started my transaction with. He slipped up quickly, started being rude to both of us, and ended our transactions by admonishing my boyfriend for licking an envelope that needed to be licked! He put on gloves to touch the envelope and barked at him not to lick it next time and instead ask whoever was waiting on him to seal it with tape. Literally minutes earlier, he had rolled his eyes at me and said he would "help me out this time" with tape since I hadn't brought any to adhere my shipping label to the outside of the envelope. I would have happily purchased a roll of tape. However, he seemed not to want to assist us with options but rather treat us like petulant school children. I'm not sure what his problem was. We both were kind to him, and I have a lot of empathy for people dealing with the general public. As someone who had previously worked in retail for years, I know how emotionally exhausting it can sometimes be, but his customer service was unacceptable.

We drove out here all the way from Sacramento. We arrived early and still didn't complete the passport process during our booked appointment time. They first person to help me seemed ok, but she was rudely forced to go to lunch during our transaction. The person who took over was incredibly abrasive and seemed to lack all sorts of basic respect/customer service skills. About 45 minutes after leaving, we got a call back and had to return all the way back because they didn't check all of the paperwork and needed another signature. This extra round trip is probably going to cost us an extra 2 hours of travel to our day because traffic conditions will have changed. There was no expression of regret, or acknowledgement of the mistake. In the future I will just wait a month or more to get an appointment instead of dealing with rude people

The manager was not very polite. The other woman was more courteous. I was bringing my application for a passport and while manager was giving instructions; very short with me.
