I took my 8 year old here for ski school the day after Xmas as he had been begging me to learn to ski for years. I grew up skiing in the mountains of Big Bear, but hadn't been skiing in at least 20 years, so was not very confident in my ability to teach him. I prepaid for everything ahead of time online including parking, ski school, ski rentals, and helmet rentals for both of us. It was pretty expensive for everything, around $500 for the both of us. I signed him up for the 9am class as I knew it would be busy. I had printed all of our vouchers which was beneficial as most of the employees were just able to scan them quicker. We quickly got front parking, got our lift tickets printed and then stood in the rental line. We got in the rental line and wow, it filled up quick. We still were in line almost 40 minutes. We had a couple that asked if they could go in front of us with a kid that also had ski school and was freaking out saying they had to get out of line to get tickets and blah blah so I let them go ahead of me. Right when they got to the front, they had 10 other kids cut the line. I pretty much was not about to put up with that and told them they could pound sand and it was extremely rude to cut the line the way they were especially when I cut them a break and let them go ahead of me. Rude people. They offered to let me go ahead of them but stayed in line. Staff did nothing while other people in line just stood around pissed at the people. We got our gear and went over to ski school. I dropped my son off and went over the bar for an hour. Rented a $27 locker for the day as I didn't feel like walking to my car with super heavy gear. I finally got the cahones to finally get on my skis and get out. I saw my son and he was still learning basic skills. I went down the bunny hill once by myself and did ok. My son only went down the hill once in the three hour class. The class gets to cut the line, but it was still pretty busy getting on the lift and even getting down cause there were only 3 hills even open as it has been really warm. I took him down a few times after and we stayed almost all day. Staff was pretty nice and we had a nice time.

TLDR: Snow Valley employees provide very poor customer service.I have been snowboarding and skiing for nearly 20 years, experiencing most major resorts in the US and flying to 4 different continents for this winter sport that I am passionate about. It's a great community, and I've never once felt the need to write a Yelp review about poor service at a resort. That changed today.I took my 3-year-old daughter to the slopes for the first time this morning. We were able to walk through the RFID gates with my Ikon Pass, but I wanted to be a good patron and ask whether she needed a ticket, even though children under 5 are free. They said yes, so I went to wait in line. There were only 5 parties in front of me. Amazingly, I waited in line for over an hour. After scrolling through recent Yelp reviews, I guess I was lucky since some people have waited over 2 hours this week. After getting her ticket, we went back to the same gates, and this time, they told us that my daughter's snowboard (Burton Riglet) was not allowed on their mountain. I asked why they didn't tell me this before I waited an hour in line when they clearly saw me with it before, and he said he wasn't sure. I asked if I could just strap her in and pull her around the snow, and he said sure. While I'm strapping her in, Louie (yes, I'm assuming it's the same Louie from Tamara's post on 12/23) comes storming up to me and tells me those boards aren't allowed. There are 2 other families with the same board next to me, but he chose to target me for some reason. I asked him nicely if I could strap her in for a few minutes, and he said no, I needed to leave right away. I started packing up my stuff, and he stood in front of me with his arms crossed. I asked why he was targeting me and not doing his job and checking anyone else's boards (I didn't want to point out the people with the same board that had by then moved elsewhere), and he said, "I am doing my job by kicking you two out of here." He said this to my 3-year-old. On her first day on the mountain. Who already looked like she was about to cry.On my way out, I went to guest services to log a complaint about Louie's customer service. There was a line around the corner of the building, but one of the workers was curious and asked me if there was anything they could help with. I told her my story, and she was empathetic. However, a gentleman (I didn't get his name) came and asked me to repeat the story. When I mentioned Louie, he rolled his eyes and said, "Louie wouldn't do that." While I was speaking with him, another irate customer stood in front of me and started speaking over me. I asked him if he could take a step back and wait his turn. The Snow Valley employee had the audacity to tell me to watch my tone with the other customer, and I needed to speak with respect when this other customer was the one who walked right in front of me and started talking over me. I could tell it was a pointless conversation and left.To be fair, I checked the website when I got home and did find a note in the FAQ section that snowboards require metal edges, which the Burton Riglet does not have. I understand employees need to enforce rules. What I don't understand is how you can have such poor customer service with a 3-year-old. She told me she doesn't want to snowboard anymore, and the mean people scared her.Friendly operating advice for the Bear Mountain Marketing staff that will eventually read this review:* Examine your operating procedures at the ticket window. It is not necessary to get the name, age, height, and weight of each person renting equipment at the ticket window when they still need to be fitted in the rental area. You can also ask people to fill out the waiver prior to standing in line to expedite the process. 15 minutes per customer is outrageous. They don't operate like this anywhere else.* The person operating the ticket window was clearly new, getting up to ask a manager for assistance for all 5 of the cu

We were very disappointed on our visit. The ticket line to get our prepaid tickets for tubing was really slow, we were in line for 30 minutes and missed starting our 12 pm session on time. When i went up to the window, I asked if we could move our session to the 2pm one to take full advantage of the time. The woman who helped me gave me a bad attitude but eventually complied with my request. We waited for our tubing session to begin in the snow play area, but it really wasn't a snow play area.. just hard ice and couldn't really play.Once our tubing session started, we got in line and started to slowly move up the carpet. Due to the long lines, we only got to go down the tube twice! We paid over $50 per person to go down twice. Then, it wasn't even 3:30, it was more like 3:20 and they closed the tubing session! We couldn't even get a 3rd ride down!We left very disappointed. This place has gone downhill now that It's owned by Big Bear Mtn. We will not be going back.

Go elsewhere and thank me later. Was here before it switched ownership and it was great. Since the change, it has gone downhill. Instead of sleds and ski lifts, it's now tubes and a moving carpet that moves at a snails pace. You get an hour and a half and with the lines you get three runs down a tubing hill for over $50. Waste. Then, if you order food, they will no doubt be out of condiments, and you will pay an exorbitant amount for cold food. The only saving grace we're employees Melanie and Gio. They went out of their way to get me what I needed. Kudos to them!!!

Here's what happened today, my daughter came from out crying because it was horrible. She came with her dad from a seven-day Vietnam trip and she was begging me to take her to Snow Valley. So we scheduled class 1-4PM. Here's when the downfall goes:-At the beginning of class, she and her classmates were waiting for more people to join. Then, other groups started to leave and she was still stuck here. Me and another woman began complaining and her class finally started at 1:40 PM-She also told me that she had to wait for other kids to catch up and only got 4 lifts out of 3 hours-not worth it at all! Should there be more teacher assistants? Her first class in 2022 had no waits and went pretty normal. Instead, today, she had to wait for a long time.- At last, the class ended at 3:40 PM, two hours. I thought it was a three-hour class and it's two hours!?-Only one positive thing, my daughter at least made friends.

Worst experience ever! We waited 2.5 hours total to purchase tickets and rent gear. For the amount of money we dumped here, they should be investing in better technology and more competent staff to expedite and streamline the ticketing process and entire snow valley experience.

Horrible experience!!! Paid over 100 for the 90 min tubing and went down only 2 times. The tubing ride was slow and there are mats on the runway to slow you down even more. Most people would get stuck on the mats and have to shimmy their way to the bottom. Not worth it!!

They are rude, especially Louie. First guy said I can use my snowboard. After going down slope they said I must rent a snowboard, can't use mine. They didn't check some people tickets in front of us but checked others. Only two lifts open and the lines are forever. I'm never coming back.

parking is free monday thru thursday if you are a season or ikon pass holders. be ready to show them your pass. they will scan for barcode at the parking lot entrance from friday thru sunday. -1 star because on their website, it said parking pass (barcode from online) was mandatory for specific days (including mon-thurs) and then they switched it up on us until you show up in person. $20 parking pass money was non-refundable.

Absolutely Amazing day.I cannot stress enough how unbelievable the staff was.. from my inquiring phone call, to picking up the bikes, to the lift operators.Every single person had a smile, was cordial & hospitable & made me… a 52 yr old dude who just got back into mountain biking last year & who was having the time of his life riding the trails feel as if i was the only person on the mountain.Thank you all for a truly memorable day & experience all around & I’ll see you on the snow this winter!!Cheers!!

nice place to visit also in summer! There are several bike routes with different levels to come down and one hiking route on the top. BBMR is currently offering $29/day tickets for Scenic sky chair or mountain bikes. From the longhorn hiking trail you can see beautiful Mt Baldy if the sky is clear!

First time with my son at a bike park and we had a blast....he was glad he didn't have to pedal , we also rented a full suspension bike since his bike is getting a little tight and that made it even better for him... we'll be back before school starts again next month.
