This place changed owners. The new owner was rude, condescending and disrespectful to women. The price they quote was short of robbery. NOT how you run a business.

Trying to get a quote, the owner was quick to dismiss my request because he doesn’t speak english.

Victor is the pro. I had my situation juggling between price and practicality. He was patient and got a grip of my situation, and came up with some precised assessments, telling he must have been around, no hums and haws, or playing with words. He is a solid professional, with spot-on solutions.

was referred from my body shop. Vic is a dishonest Liar. check engine light will keep appearing after his installation, told me to use octane 91 and keep resetting the check engine light ....... complete waste of time . I recently moved and didn't want to drive to the mechanic I knew for many many years . He also charge more assuming he would do a better job than others.......

Needed to install a muffler, but my car was too low for my carjack. I found this place near my work on Yelp, gave em a call for a price quote, but the vehicle actually needs to be there to see the scope of work, so I drove over and they lifted it up and checked it out.. $120 to install! I was a bit shocked, but since I was there already, I just agreed. install was clean and quick!

TL;DR - They ripped me off several times and did shoddy work. Save money and time and go to the muffler technician on gale instead In 2019 they sold and installed a cat on my Pathfinder. I passed smog, but then a week or two after Check Engine Light went off. I researched the code and apparently for this car, it points to an exhaust leak. I don't really pay it much attention until this year when it's smog time again. Read up on the forums and they say it's usually caused by a leak at the flanges, and that it needs a gasket there. I go back, tell them the problem, and they say for sure they installed a gasket. They also refuse to believe it's an exhaust leak. I tell them I checked it myself (jacked up the car, attached a shop vac and did the soapy water test), but they are adamant that I am wrong. They won't do a leak check, even if I pay them for it, and they say for them to even LOOK AT IT, I HAVE to go to the mechanic down the way to read my code. I tell them I already checked the code, did the research and know what it means, but they say no, the mechanic shop they want to send me to has a "SPECIAL" reader that can tell them even more. In retrospect, they were probably trying to get me to go to their other shop in the same plaza, BRAKE EXPRESS, which they own as well, to try to fleece me for some more money. I decline their offer. I go home order a new legit cat (I have suspicions that the ones they use don't have CARB#'s), and have my normal mechanic install it. I clear the codes, drive a bit and the C.E.L. comes back. I order a sensor and go to my mechanic again to install it, but he is now out of business . Grudgingly, go back to Speedway, which is now combined with the second location BRAKE EXPRESS. The old guy quotes me $340 to install a sensor. He also says he is so busy , so it will probably take him days (which is ridiculous) I say no and start to leave. He asks how much I was thinking to pay and tell him like $60 (it's a sensor, all you need is a lift and that's it). He brings it down to like $240 which is still a rip off, but he PROMISES he will take care of any leaks. I'm getting sick of the whole affair at this point, and just agree to get it over with. He calls me back in like an hour to tell me it's done (since he already had my money basically so no longer needed to lie about the difficulty). Guess what? Check engine light again. I don't go back because at this point because I am beyond furious, and I know nothing good would come of having to deal with their tricks a third time. Luckily, I find ANOTHER muffler technician off Gale, take it to him, and explain this code usually means an exhaust leak at the flange. WIthin 3 minutes, my car is up on a lift, he checks it and says yup, there is a small leak. Within 30 minutes, I'm out of there with a non-leaking exhaust system for $110, and lo and behold, my check engine light finally goes away and I pass smog. Speedway wasted my time, sold me a bum cat, wouldn't acknowledge their own bad install, tried to rip me off by getting me to spend money at BOTH their shops, tried ripping me off royally and lying about difficulty/time to finish, ended up just ripping me off normally and STILL managed to fail the job that should have been handled if they listened to me in the first place. I am considering filing a compalint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, and you should too if this place has done anything deserving of it. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY SHAMELESSLY RIPPED ME OFF AND WILL LIKELY DO THE SAME TO YOU.

Victor and his shop is awesome for any exhaust work/general mechanic needs. I was looking high and low for a shop that could install my vacuum valved exhaust without charging me $800+ (just for labor!) when I knew that the job was relatively simple and take an hour at most with just a shop lift. Some well reviewed shops around the area quoted me 8-10 hours of labor! Great communication with Victor prior to my appointment, and great prices. When I arrived, there was no wait to get my car on the lift, and was able to talk and work directly with the techs to get the vacuum lines from the rear axle routed to the engine bay as I wanted. 10 stars if I could

Was referred by someone on the forum. I needed to swap out my stock muffler with an aftermarket muffler. Guy told me it was too complicated to do as there was a lot of curvature. He upsell me for there exhaust set up for $900. I told them I think about it. I ended up going to Valley Muffler at La Puente not knowingly they are still in business as I had it done before in the past. I told them what I needed and they told me to come by as they have a slot for me. Got there told them what I needed and they quoted me $120 to cut and reweld. Very impress. I offer them a $40 courtesy tip.

Doing good work!! Mike the owner is very professional and fast with his work. Minimal wait, he was super accommodating! I came to get my 2016 Honda Accord muffler replaced and he quoted me the best price out of anybody in the area. I said done! In and out in 30 mins, best service out of any auto shop ever! I normally hate going to auto shops cause I feel like they're all scammers. These guys? Not the case! Can't recommend enough, seriously.

mike tried to rip me off, these guys will charge you alot of money if you are not careful, I am so glad I went to get 2nd opinion, for a used junk yard replacement they quoted $250 I said NO, I said will take it looked at by someone else then.. went to another shop it only cost $40 to fix. If you do decide to take your car here be sure to do your research.
