“When my car broke down deep in the hills on 49 and i needed service right away, and the tow service showed up late at the very end of the day, and brought us and the car to the rough and ready location instead of the grass valley location, the very friendly staff rolled with the situation! The service manager stayed late (a short time) and received us, and set up the service for early the next morning. The woman i had spoken to over the phone drove over to the other location, picked us up and first gave us a ride to the car rental company, who had left since we were an hour late, and gave us a ride back to the grass valley location where they let us use the “ loaner” car for the night, which totally made our “crisis” manageable since we also needed to go to our hotel. The car was ready by mid day the next day.

These kind folks helped us manage a potential crisis at the tail end of our vacation on the Yuba River, which was potentially extremely challenging! 5-stars!”

“Needed to replace transmission fluid. Scheduling was easy, drop off was a breeze and pick up was simple.
They clearly explained to me that Fridays are shorter days, and that if my car was ready, to please be there before 3 pm to pick it up. Otherwise my car will be locked in the gate all weekend.. They close from 12-1. All of this was explained before I scheduled and at drop off. I recommend Mel's for transmission needs.”

I think that any other auto shop would of fix the thermostat problem and charged me only to tell me later about the crack radiator ,, that has happened to me in the past with other problems I have had in the past..
