Erica and her staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a lot of questions and they were all answered promptly. Erica is very friendly and takes the time to really go over everything with you. I will definitely be returning next year. Oh and they have the cutest mascot named Rusty, he is the sweetest doggie!!

My wife and I decided to try Tax Owl and we wanted to provide others with our experience. Our experience began on a positive note. We love the friendly dog that greets you and the office room was nice to wait in, and I particularly liked a large digital screen to showcase numbers and adjustments so you can follow along. At the conclusion of the appointment, my wife and I were shocked to be told we owed approx. 4.5k for federal/state. We deeply felt something was wrong. We advised our concern and Erica went through the return several times and insisted it was due to our actions for withdrawing money. The explanation seemed to be vague and we didn't understand why. That being said, we needed money as my wife was pregnant at the time and we left continuing to feel there was a mistake on the return. Erica went through the return several times, however it stayed the same. Other factors that left us disappointed was long response times for email and phone. All that being said, our return was reviewed at a different company who was shocked to see the mistake that had been made. This company not only pointed out a significant mistake, but amended our return for FREE and in return was able to get us several thousand back. What a big difference....They felt that morally Tax Owl should realize their mistake and provide us with a refund. We called Tax Owl and emailed. I believe Erica and this company do try their best and seem to at least attempt to do some good by making some things right, but we felt it was unacceptable and the effort at Tax Owls is not on par with other companies who provide you with their full attention and skill set. We were told that of the approx. $300 fee, we would only get $75 back and were advised we should of went back to them, which would have given us a 50% discount on the next tax season. Erica also had mistaken us for someone else regarding "payroll issues", which was never the case. Everyone makes mistakes, but we believe it's equally important to accept significant mistakes that are truly costly to families and do what's not only right but fair. Attached is an email response and we hope this helps other families looking for a company that can be a long term investment that serves you right. We wish the best for Tax Owl, however we will not be returning.

Erica and her staff at Tax Owl in old Roseville is fantastic. This is our 2nd year filing with her and she is the BEST! Communication is great, the portal to upload forms is easy to use and they are always available to talk through any questions you may have - we will be life long customers. Love this tax team!!

Very professional staff. They were able to meet my needs as far as scheduling. Which can be challenging. Very friendly people with the offer of water, treats! We had some challenges regarding ranch property. Erica was able to answer our questions, enabling me to feel confident in moving forward. All options are considered when filling out our taxes. This is a small private company, not a corporate monster. If you need a CPA or accounting, this should be your only stop. I highly recommend Tax Owl!

We have been a customer of Sill and Associates for approximately 25 years. Erica Jan/Tax Owl took over the business approximately three years ago. The Tax Owl went to an online basis using an organizer to put your tax information into this year. We have always done face to face office visits for our tax preparation. I was worried doing our taxes online via an organizer would be difficult and a lot of work on my part. In reality, with great communication tools, I was able to use the organizer to input all of my tax information. The Tax Owl provided status updates on our tax preparation thru completion. Overall the process went smoothly and my wife and I are very happy with the outcome. We recommend the Tax Owl for your tax services.

I needed a tax return done quickly and Erica was able to complete it within a turnaround time of a couple of days. I tend to be a procrastinator and I was fortunate to have found someone who could help me meet my deadline without all the stress. She's professional and very personable. She's well informed and knowledgeable. She'll definitely be doing my taxes as well as friends and family that I have referred.
