Ive had nothing shy of an AMAZING experience with Dwaine, and KOI tax. I had been getting screwed by turbo tax for years. So last year I went to refi my house, my lender tells me I had some extra tax money i missed and that i should go 3 years back and collect it. H&R block wouldn't return my calls, I couldn't get through to anyone at Turbo Tax. I was turned down by 3 other local places. Dwaine was a DREAM to work with. My experiences with KOI tax have been life changing. I had wage garnishments get dissolved. I went from always owing money i didn't have, to being owed money, i should have been given all along. Visiting Dwaine has been one of the best things I have ever done, and I would recommend doing so for everyone. Dwaine worked with me on my payment and told me I didn't have to pay until I got my return. DONT PAY PEOPLE WHO DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. Pay a professional that actually cares, i have been able to pay down debt, stop wage garnishments, and make positive financial changes in my life all because I visited Dwaine and the fine folks at KOI Tax Services. TWO visits. In TWO VISITS, I went from owing $1700.00 to FTB, to being owed a combined total of $10,000.00 THATS LIFE CHANGING. ITS LIFE CHANGING TO GO FROM HAVING YOUR WAGES GARNISHED, TO HAVING NO WAGE GARNISHMENTS, HAVING THE LAST TWO GARNISHMENTS RETURNED TO ME, AND BEING OWED $10K. Numbers don't lie, if its making dollars, how could it not make sense?

AVOID KOI TAX. I had to unexpectedly come up with and pay over $1,000 in back taxes because of an error on my taxes by Dwaine. I'm not leaving this review because he simply made an error, (anyone can make a mistake) - however HOW the error was made, and the response (or lack of) by Dwaine is why I'm giving this review. 1) The type of mistake that was made, was completely unacceptable for anyone who claims to be a "professional" tax preparer. 2) While Dwaine offered to pay any penalties resulting in his error, I never received any official apology for my inconvenience or any remorse for his error. 3) After sending in my penalties to be paid by Koi Tax, I never received confirmation from them that they took care of it. I had to call them back weeks later to find out if they even took care of it.

I can't imagine what would be more important than returning your clients phone calls? So far I have not heard of anyone catching COVID over the phone!! If it's important to you that your messages be returned then STAY AWAY from KOI Tax Services. I called Dwayne ( the owner) 6 times, left three messages on their answering machine and spoke to the admin or receptionist three separate times and NO CALL BACK! I had an important question in April on my retirement and NO CALL BACK!! I was promised a call from Dwayne on Monday 7/6/20 and if he did not call me the receptionist promised to call me Tuesday7/7/20...NO CALL!!! I started calling in April, called in May and June and now July NO RETURNED CALLS!!! I guess I'm just a small KOI in Dwayne's pond? I guess the bigger fish get their calls returned ??? There address is on Professional Drive....nothing Professional about KOI except their address!!!! Just a piece of crap client for the last four years trying to get his taxes done and do business with KOI Tax. Will not recommend or return to do business with a firm that treats their clients like this!!!! Picked up my 2019 folder and will find someone else who appreciates a loyal customer!!!
