This program has been a blessing to my family! We started when my daughter was 6 months old and graduated when my daughter was 3. in 2020 The world was very different then and KidsFirst was so educational and helpful. I am a first time mom and have no idea what I am doing, but I know I want to be a better mom then what I had growing up.. Kids First has made that possible! They have helped us during the holidays and have helped my husband and I when we needed them. I will forever be thankful for this program and for my mentor Genesis!Thank you Kids First

This place has gone seriously downhill. Had a great experience a couple of years ago. Not so recently, tried signing my third son up for services because of his anxiety and he’s now been on the waitlist for seven months. About a month or two ago, we were called to see if we would consider group therapy. I know this is not something my son would feel comfortable with because of his anxiety, which includes social anxiety. At least not at first. I was assured that he wouldn’t lose his place in line even though we didn’t choose group therapy. I was notified today that because we denied group therapy, he was actually moved down the list and that he’s midway down and probably looking at another month before services. That will be seven months on the waitlist before being seen, and that’s if that estimate is actually correct. When I first signed him up, I was told it would be 6-7 weeks. How is this helping anyone? I have already exhausted all other resources for him, including school counseling. This is terrible.

Waiting list for services is a bit long but that's the case everywhere. Once you get to the head of the line though, things move pretty fast. The case managers are attentive and can help connect you with many resources locally and within Kids First. The counselors are kind and professional.
