“COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All individuals are expected to wear a mask too. The staff do not wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for people to use. This place is opened with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between people. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: Plenty of parking prepandemic and during the pandemic. Parking spots are a bit small, so be careful when you park in this lot. Staff: The staff here are very nice and friendly.”

“I have borrowed few equipments from Convalescent Aid Society and I have had great experience with them from creating the account to ease in getting the equipment i needed for my family member. It is such a blessing to get the equipment without paying anything , may be little donation if you can afford to keep the program going, so everyone can benefit from this non profit organization.I am very thankful to the Founder of this organization and the supporting staf as wellThank you”

“My father recently died and I was looking for a place to take his old phonograph records. I'm glad to have found this place. I was impressed with this little shop and the behive of activity that was going on in and around this place when I arrived. I was treated politely and graciously. My father would have been pleased that I found this shop for some of his belongings. RIP, Dad. Keep up the great work, Friends of the Whittier Library Bookstore.”

“A friend of mine who volunteers her time with the Assistance League of Arcadia at the Bargain Box told me to check it out and so glad I did... 5 stars!!!!! If you are a fan of the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, you'll be sure to love the Bargain Box. Just like the Huntington Collection, I can't call it a thrift shop since it's not like any thrift shops I've been to! Looks more like an expensive antique shop when you step inside. I was blown away by the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the pieces on sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. All of the furniture and housewares are excellent condition, not to mention very well priced. Make a point to visit before Halloween! The store is all decked out with Halloween decor! The Bargain Box is managed by the Assistance League of Arcadia, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 1pm.”

“Several years ago I decided to try riding again and Flintridge has been a life saver. It is a beautiful facility and having an adjoining field with trees to just meander around has been wonderful. There is really no other place like it in Los Angeles. The high point of my week is now my Sunday with friends as we just walk around on our horses and relax.”

“Came up here because I was down on my luck and needed some food. These folks were so friendly as soon as you walk up to their gate. The emergency food is right at the front easily ready to go and the gentleman out in the front was so helpful and kind. It’s beautiful to know there is places like this and hope with a helping hand out here. Thank you all and God bless you.”

“I love this little shop because it is really inexpensive and has some great designer brands and shoes most of the time! I used to shop here years ago. Because the business is small and has limited space, you will need to say "excuse me" frequently. High-quality apparel may be obtained at rock-bottom costs here. You won't find a better deal anywhere else.”

“I am so fortunate to have found this center in our community. I have been going here for a few months now to attend yoga twice during the week. It is a non profit and non denominational organization run by two sisters who are nuns. Both are extremely kind and so welcoming. They are passionate at serving their community and the well being of each other. I have gone to high end fancy yoga studios and have done private lessons before but nothing beats simplicity and coming back to basics. Following the traditional classical way of yoga is about uniting and anchoring the mind, body and spirit. Unfortunately most studios nowadays don't teach this! It is geared towards physical fitness but this center goes beyond the physical aspect, they teach mindfulness/awareness through ancient wisdom. The yogi/instructor is amazing. She is gentle enough to know what kind of stretches her class needs but will also incorporate some challenging posses to strengthen you. She'll explain the benefits of each stretch and pose. At the end of the class I walk out feeling invigorated and limber for sure!! I have taken my son with me a few times to do yoga and he enjoys it. Yoga classes are donation based $60/mo. They also offer a meditation class on Wed evening. They teach yogic breathing-pranayama. The sister will guide you through the different types of breath work techniques. It is very grounding and puts you in the present moment. It also helps with stress and anxiety. Breath work is a great tool to have in your daily practice. This is a great class to attend. The amount of knowledge and deep wisdom from the sister is invaluable! Class is an hour long. Personally speaking from my experience, yoga studios are great establishments , but if you are seeking to go deeper in your spiritual practice, I highly recommend this place. You will find it more enriching physically and mentally. I truly love the close knit community here from all walks of life...older and younger ages. All are welcome! This organization is such a gem to our city!”

“Generally a good place, with one improvement needed: serve the two lines more evenly so it's first come, first served.I appreciate the opportunity to get food for someone that is having a hard time right now. Most of the volunteers are very helpful and friendly. Sometimes they even offer to pray for you. However, they need to be more attentive to serving the two lines of cars more evenly. They claim that one line isn't faster than another, but it's not true.Tonight I made a mental note of the license plate of the last car in the other line (that I wasn't in) when I got in line. That car made it through the line much faster. So, I waited a lot longer than I would have if I had been in that line. I pointed it out to a worker and asked her to tell a supervisor. She agreed that they were "off-balance" tonight (serving one line more often than the other).I realize that it's a free service; however, it's frustrating to see other cars coming after you and getting served first. This has happened on other visits as well. It's about 45 minutes to an hour total from the time I start waiting in line until I leave. So, being served in first come, first served order would help.SUGGESTION: Give drivers an index card with a number on it as they arrive, then call them out in numerical order.”

“I come here to play rec league soccer once a week (sunday), it's a nice park but they should probably staff it up a little bit, there was an assault in the bathroom on one of the rec league officials in the women's bathroom (by a man). An unusual occurrence to be sure but it happened and recently. They are doing some work on the park at the moment so part is torn up.Playground: Yes!Restrooms: Be careful!Dog-friendliness: Not sure.Picnic area: Nice, but you have to share space with the local unhoused and vagrant communities, it's as much their park as yours (Google maps user).”

“Armory Center For The Arts is a non-profit community arts organization that offers arts education programs and contemporary art exhibitions in Pasadena, California. What is great about the Armory is their different programs such as art exhibits, workshops and art classes. Their current exhibit is the Plein Air which runs through Dec 10, 2023. It is a group exhibition that explores shifting ideas of western landscape, painting, and fieldwork. It's my first time visiting this museum. I spend no more than 40 mins to go through the entire art exhibit. Admission is free. Parking lot is next to the museum. Staff was cordial. Overall, I had a good time exploring their art exhibits.”

“Amazing preschool for children. I wish my daughter would have gone there when she was younger! All the staff are amazing and the curriculum is what you would find at over price child care but they work with you so you can afford to take your child there and it's so worth it!”

“This is one of the two churches I visited back in Easter since I am new to the SGV and I have been looking for a new home church, after calling the one in Irvine my home church for close to 4 years. The people are friendly and welcoming. They even have a Young Adults group that I checked out once a few Sundays after my Easter visit.Like every big church, it is a bit of a challenge to make friends and build meaningful connections, but just like everything else in life; you get out of it what you put in. If I lived closer and started attending this church regularly, I am sure I'd be able to build a solid group of friends and to find a home in here.Highly recommended church if you're from the area!”

“This club gives generous scholarships to South Pasadena High students each year, with last year's total being $18,000, and they are always trying to pull together more. They are such cheerleaders and supporters of the students, and the women who interview and present the awards are kind, warm-hearted, gracious people. Those of us who work on Awards at SPHS find them a joy to coordinate with.”

“When they have events in the gym they don't let you go through the doors in the parking lot there are people with handicap issues and they can't walk all the way around just to get In the gym. People risk getting hurt if you get there when the games are going on. Can you imagine if someone with a walker, can or wheelchair or even a child. They need rethink how people get in the building.”

“We had the pleasure of hosting a wedding there last month. The location is beautiful and private. The facility is set up in a way that allows for a step above the complete DIY or an all inclusive planned event. It's so much more than a standard hotel ballroom. If you want to dance the night away under the stars in a gorgeous courtyard, I would recommend checking this out!!”

“This small thrift store has it all. Except parking. one spot is for donation, two handicap and about 8 spots for customers. Technically you are not supposed to park in the neighboring business. Off street parking is available but it can be a short or long walk. I have been there three times so far. the store is well staffed. Probably too well staffed. On my last visit an employee was keeping low in the back of the retail area playing a video game on his phone. I have had great interactions with other employee. The store has two color tag sales each week one for 50% the other 75% off. also they have incentive sales to bring in shoppers. Check the website. How one views the pricing is subjective. I personally find the pricing on the most affordable. so far this is the only thrift store that I have found that has a free to sign up loyalty program. Out of the three thrift stores I frequent in the Pasadena area this is my favorite.”

“It's a great place and it's appreciated for what they give but, If the persons that help volunteer would be more careful on the people's car it would be better the first time there they made a mess in my trunk with cereal and chips that had popped open because they were just throwing it in.”
