Wonderful place to learn music. Makinto is a great and inspirational musician and instructor. Other instructors are similarly skilled. We have had decades of relationship with JOMA and highly recommend them - for kids and adults alike (my husband, daughter, and grand niece all have had classes there!)

We are so grateful to have found Joyful Music and Arts (JOMA)! It is not just a music school, it is a character, life skills, and self-esteem factory. Our son started at age 4 in Mr. Makinto's Music Bus class. As parent watching on, I witnessed Mr. Makinto's exceptional expertise translated to our little guy's level. Mr. Makinto's calm and commanding presence consistently kept the children's attention. I am a 1st grade teacher, and I know how difficult it is to do this! From the Music Bus class, we began private music lessons. We opted to continue with Mr. Makinto, because my son formed quite an attachment; however through scheduling changes and travel needs he's had multiple teachers at JOMA all of whom are terrific! Mr. Makinto holds highest standards for both his teachers and students. Finally, there is a lovely community feel at JOMA. It's not one of those cold "music store" music classes or franchised rock and roll places. You sit on the sofa and chat with other parents while your child learns in a nearby studio. We also love gathering with the JOMA families at the yearly music concert, which is refreshingly unpretentious. We're so lucky to have been recommended to JOMA!

This is a wonderful rhythm and music school rich in all genres appealing to people of all ages and skill level. Mr Makinto is an expert at inspiring interest and perseverance in those with lesser attention spans (I.e. my 7 and 8 year old boys). This place truly lives up to its name.

All the teachers at JOMA are wonderful. My daughter has taken piano lessons, my husband is taking guitar and drumming lessons, and I'm about to enroll my grand niece in the Musical Bus class. All levels and ages are welcome. Makinto is an extremely gifted musician, playing numerous instruments, and has a wonderful voice. He is encouraging, caring, and makes learning music fun.

"Joyful music has enriched our lives so much through music. Makinto, as well as the instructors, have planted the everlasting seed for the joy of music. Joyful music is different in that Makinto is so well rounded in music theory that this enables a dynamic environment for music in which he helps cultivate my children's natural drive for the joy of music. For example, my son started with drums, but became fascinated with piano and is now composing his music on the piano. My daughter plays guitar but may want to venture onto the drums. Joyful music allows this growth and exploration - all the while keeping with the consistency of music theory as the foundation. It is a beautiful place where the joy and foundation for music are planted and nurtured - we couldn't imagine being anywhere else." - The Gallagher Family
