It starts with a warm greeting by the staff upon arrival. You know your pet & furry friend will be cared for (I feel like we have as much of a relationship with them as Daisy the corgi-mix). They are a full service facility.While I was deployed overseas a few years ago, I even called and they were willing to send me a few picture updates! Melted my ? heart ? to see my lil girl.Wishing them continued success. They understand how to run the business smoothly and keeping their fuzzy and human customers happy!

Our pups love this place and we do too! We consider them family as my husband and I only trust them with our pups. They are truly amazing and we're always happy to bring our pups in!! Plus the crafts they do along with photo shoots make any fur parent MELT!

Love this place!!! Family owned business and they are amazing. I take my 11 month old doodle for daycare a couple times a week and he loves it!!! Recently had knee surgery and could not do our walks so he gets to play w his friends here for 6 hours. The employees and owners are so loving and kind. I also use their grooming services and love what they do. I recommend their boarding and grooming services to all my friends and family. ???

The owner, Ashley, is the best. She has carefully Groomed my dogs for 12 years. I would never consider changing groomers. She truly cares for the pets and does a fantastic job of grooming.

Me and my husband both had to leave our 2 year dog for 40 days. We initially booked some other boarding place and then when we reached there, they denied us due to longer stay and they were so scared that they wouldn’t be able to take care of him. We were extremely nervous and didn’t know what to do, then we saw smiling dog reviews and called them and booked the boarding. I wasn’t sure how these guys will take care as everything was in last minute. But must say! Amazing Service. They literally took care of our dog like their own dog. They made sure they update us every once in 10 days through email as we were away from the States. They also celebrated his second birthday and sent us lovely pics. Everything was handled as per our instructions I.e food & treats. Our dog is extra special dog as he had history of bladder stones, hence he was on diet which needs to be taken seriously. When we picked him up he seemed very sad , staffs seemed very sad.. and still he’s not able to accept that he’s back to his own home lol. He keeps barking and playing while he sleeps in his dream. We are trying to cheer him up.. I recommend people to try their boarding & grooming service here. 5 star ⭐️ service. Truly commendable!! Thank you guys.

Don’t bring your large dog here. They don’t have enough space and the staff can’t handle them. They’ll complain that the dog is too big. The owner probably doesn’t know the staff is rude to customers as well. And turning away good dogs because it’s a hassle. They be closed soon due to this.

Ashley and her crew are the best!! They care about my precious babies even though one is a bit persnickety. It's obvious how great they have become with appointments going out a few weeks. I drive out here from carmichael because of their excellent service. It's not just a business. You can feel the love and care they have for all the precious souls in their care. . I appreciate their dedicated service to the community.

They fired me as a client today because I called them out in injuring my dog for the 2nd time. Instead of apologizing and being more diligent in grooming they decide we are not a "Good fit". You tell me if this is ok with you if it was your Golden Doodle? Apparently they don't let me post the picture but they injured his testicles for the second time... Made them bleed... Seriously hurt him. We usually had good luck with them but being disrespectful to me and telling me I'm not a good fit when you hurt my dog is enough!

My parents have been loyal customers of this establishment since the day it opened.It was the only place that they felt comfortable entrusting with both of their beloved dogs who are both disabled and require special care.That is until they're most recent visit when the technician that was working on their male dog managed to inflict a large laceration right by his left eye. Because the dog is of senior age and can no longer see that well he continuously runs into stuff which has led to numerous re-splits and multiple trips to the vet. Not to mention the pain and discomfort it causes him.This company won't even take responsibility for what they have done much less offer compensation to assist with his numerous vet bills.If you love your animals the way my family does heed my warning and don't go anywhere near this place!!!

Pro tip, if they let you, book your next 6 appointments in advance. They are overbooked (months out) but worth their weight in gold. I took my elderly dog here upon moving to Rocklin in 2020. She was an 12 year old mini-schnauzer when they met. She passed away due to a brain tumor in Spring 2022. In her life, she's had a lot of grooming experiences, some good some bad. She was only seen here 6-7 times, but they remembered her each time, and she came home happy. I will say, the Sympathy Card I received six weeks after her death brought me to tears.

Just great friendly service! Very accommodating to our schedule and our Mini Eskimo always looks wonderful! I recommend The Smiling Dog to.all.my friends with fur babies lol

Update: Ashley reached out to me and corrected the situation. Excellent customer service on the owner's part. Thank you Ashley. Original feedback: The groomers do a nice job. The only issue I had was when I took my dog for daycare, they charged me for a grooming service that I did not request nor did they get my permission first. My dog was already scheduled for a full groom appointment two days later so I was basically charged twice for the extraneous grooming services. When I brought it to their attention, the young lady at the front desk said, " oh, sorry about that." and would not reimburse me for the duplicate charge. I am disappointed in the poor handling of the situation.
