Never thought I would write a bad review for Smiling Dog, but I guess once they have security they feel that can do and say what they want. My 6 month old puppy came home looking worse than when we sent her. Ashley , the owner and groomer, thought this was an acceptable way to send her home and had the nerve to charge $60 for it. She had all kinds of excuses, none acceptable. When I complained, she laughed. She is a perfect example of forgetting how she got where she is!

It starts with a warm greeting by the staff upon arrival. You know your pet & furry friend will be cared for (I feel like we have as much of a relationship with them as Daisy the corgi-mix). They are a full service facility. While I was deployed overseas a few years ago, I even called and they were willing to send me a few picture updates! Melted my ? heart ? to see my lil girl.Wishing them continued success. They understand how to run the business smoothly and keeping their fuzzy and human customers happy!

I've been taking my white cockapoo (cocker spaniel-poodle mix) here for years! I began as a client when Ashley had her small, family run grooming business out of her home. As her business grew she opened up The Smiling Dog in Rocklin. And boy does business keep on growing. Ashley is the one who cuts and designs my dog's sometimes elaborate do's. Once we grew and groomed his hair to look like a stegosaurus. My dog usually rocks a Mohawk with a bushy lions tail. with everything else shaves close. Ashley does shape the hair on his face to look so cute. She is a true sculpture artist for sure, on a moving target no less. They have animal friendly dye, which reassures me that my baby is safe. Rachelle the dyeing expert, dyes like a true artist. She does hombre styles so well! My dog's hair styles have brought on-lookers smile and laughter often. People have even stopped their cars to comment on my dog's colorful hair styles. Once on a walk at the park, a little girl screamed out with delight, "Look! A tie-dyed dog! I've never seen a tie-dyed dog before!" We also take our other dog there to be groomed as well. She's a mutt of every sort so she's hard to describe. But she comes out looking great. Their basic groom includes everything; shampoo, anal gland expression, nail trim, ear cleaning, and your desired hair cut, if need be. And of course dye jobs are extra but not expensive at all. I highly recommend The Smiling Dog!

Our pups love this place and we do too! We consider them family as my husband and I only trust them with our pups. They are truly amazing and we're always happy to bring our pups in!! Plus the crafts they do along with photo shoots make any fur parent MELT!

Love this place!!! Family owned business and they are amazing. I take my 11 month old doodle for daycare a couple times a week and he loves it!!! Recently had knee surgery and could not do our walks so he gets to play w his friends here for 6 hours. The employees and owners are so loving and kind. I also use their grooming services and love what they do. I recommend their boarding and grooming services to all my friends and family. ???

My two goldendoodles have been going to Ashley at The Smiling Dog even before she moved out to Rocklin. She is kind and we trust her with our dogs. I had tried several dog grooming facilities before her and she was the only one that my dogs got excited about when we would arrive. That speaks volumes! Thank you Ashley for taking care of our sweet babies and for all that you do!

The owner, Ashley, is the best. She has carefully Groomed my dogs for 12 years. I would never consider changing groomers. She truly cares for the pets and does a fantastic job of grooming.

They charge too much and take too long. I have a mobile groomer now and she charges a lot less. The woman at the front who is older is very rude

Me and my husband both had to leave our 2 year dog for 40 days. We initially booked some other boarding place and then when we reached there, they denied us due to longer stay and they were so scared that they wouldn’t be able to take care of him. We were extremely nervous and didn’t know what to do, then we saw smiling dog reviews and called them and booked the boarding. I wasn’t sure how these guys will take care as everything was in last minute. But must say! Amazing Service. They literally took care of our dog like their own dog. They made sure they update us every once in 10 days through email as we were away from the States. They also celebrated his second birthday and sent us lovely pics. Everything was handled as per our instructions I.e food & treats. Our dog is extra special dog as he had history of bladder stones, hence he was on diet which needs to be taken seriously. When we picked him up he seemed very sad , staffs seemed very sad.. and still he’s not able to accept that he’s back to his own home lol. He keeps barking and playing while he sleeps in his dream. We are trying to cheer him up.. I recommend people to try their boarding & grooming service here. 5 star ⭐️ service. Truly commendable!! Thank you guys.

Hats off to the lady who groomed by rescue dog. My dog's hair was matted, gunks in her ears, and pretty foul breath. The sweet groomer took her time since Emmy was so scared and it was her first time. 4 hours later, I picked up a happy and cleanly cut dog. We agreed to shave all her fur and have a fresh start. I can't wait to see her beautiful coat once it grows back. Her bad dog breath and smelly ears were gone!!! I am so impressed with the skill, patience and time spent with my baby. Thank you!

Don’t bring your large dog here. They don’t have enough space and the staff can’t handle them. They’ll complain that the dog is too big. The owner probably doesn’t know the staff is rude to customers as well. And turning away good dogs because it’s a hassle. They be closed soon due to this.

We have been taking our dog to Ashley for years. Nala has many allergies and health problems but Ashley and her staff always listen and work with us. We have done both grooming and boarding and have been absolutely pleased with both services. When I have questions or concerns Ashley always responds quickly and is very professional and kind. Our dog is terrified of car rides but comes quickly when we mention Ashley's name.
