I live right up the road and I always come here for any woodworking tools. Many of the larger retail stores do not carry the intricate tools and equipment that Rockler does when it comes to woodworking. Their staff is really knowledgeable and if you ask for assistance they will help you find the right product and they don't hover while you look at the items on the shelf (which is very much appreciated). Once I convince my wife to let me buy a drill press, I'm heading up there and buying one (good prices and good selection).

I was staying the weekend in Rocklin and I had a few minutes to spend looking around. I travel quite a bit and I usually stay in a hotel close by. I walked into the store and started browsing. I found some bird's eye maple veneer that would have complimented a marquetry project I'm working on and picked it up. I counted four employees working in the store while I was there. I went up to the counter to pay for the item and waited. Waited some more. I looked around the store and saw that two of the employees looking in my direction. I waited for five minutes and decided that they had better things to do than have me pay for the item I had selected, so I left it on the counter and left the store. I won't be back until I see the going out of business sign on the place.

Turns out there's a reason their plywood is cheaper than other places. It's 'Made in Russia'. Will not be stepping foot in that store again. Shame on them for subverting sanctions and supporting the russian economy. Their corporate office should know better.

I search their website and select the items I want which match my requirements. Then I take a screenshot with Screenpresso and head for the store near me, which happens to be Rocklin. I have the salesperson direct me to the correct area and explain the new item I desire to make sure it fits my needs. Then we head to the cash register to purchase. Since I am a veteran they issue me a discount and search for other ways to get me even more of a discount. The employees are very knowledgeable on their hardware and tool items. They make me want to return for more stuff that I might want. Thanks to all the people there, they are great!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE CLASS THAT THE STORE OFFERS: I took an introductory cabinet making class here recently. $145 for a 3 hour class. I definitely would not recommend it.The 3 hour class was over in 37m. The miniature cabinet that he assembled was pre-cut and pre drilled. Not much different than assembling Ikea furniture, except you're watching the employee build it.Skip this class and just watch YouTube for free. The guy teaching the class was nice, That's the only reason this isn't 1-star.

What a great resource for woodworking! I'm quite the amateur, but I love crafting with all things wood, especially repurposing. I recently had a project that stumped me, so I stopped by. As always, the staff were interested, courteous, and helpful. James was exceedingly helpful, listening to what I was trying to do and then advising and giving me great tips I wouldn't have thought of. He was even patient with my many questions. I didn't feel pressured to buy things I didn't need. In fact, he helped me determine just what was needed and helped with selection. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the beautiful cutting boards and "turning" (I hope I got that term right) crafts and asked about their classes. Without a doubt, I'll be taking some classes at this Rockler location!

The classes they offer are AWESOME!!! I've been looking for classes in the Sacramento area for a while now and I'm so happy I found the ones at Rockler. I attended a cabinet making class yesterday and had so much fun. Our instructor Rick was great!! I'm a beginner and have never used a table saw or other power tools before and Rick was so patient and helpful! I'm hoping I'll have him again! Highly recommend taking classes from here! Thanks Rick and the Rockler Staff! Katie

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pretty much anything you need to do woodworking. Good place to come for beginners as well as experienced folks. They offer classes too.

I spent $85 and drove 45min for their cabinetry class and the instructor started off by announcing he has never built cabinets. There was no structure or plan to how he was going to teach us, he had a carcass that he had built just before the class that he did not go over how to build, then he spent OVER AN HOUR of a two hour class trying to build the door for the cabinet but he kept choosing the wrong router bits. There was no preparation or self-accountability for teaching paying customers. Only three of us took the class and 2/3 of us asked for and received refunds after the class was over. When asked if the person who normally teaches the class maybe called out sick, was told no, he was scheduled to teach it. He then threw everyone else in the store under the bus and took no personal responsibility for having not checked the schedule OR prepared ANYTHING. Excuse after excuse came out when he saw we were less than impressed. I was offered to come for the next cabinetry class but I will not be returning for any of their paid classes.

Always love coming here when im in the area. I'm not much of a woodworker (yet) but when looking for more hobbies that are hands on, this shop is a great one to go to. The prices are pretty good and I love how they have a scrap bin for extra wood pieces they sell per pound. The store is clean and organized with very helpful associates. I always recommend here for people who either are thinking of working on small projects or need some extra supplies. Hell I bring people here just to check it out sometimes!

Not nearly as good as I would’ve hoped. I called ahead of time to check the availability of the product I was searching for. I was told there was none in stock. I had to take my wife to Auburn so decided I would just stop in and take a look for myself. When I got there, I looked and found five boxes of the product hanging on the wall. This is not the first time I have been given incorrect information. I hope and pray Rockler will train their employees just a little bit better because it is a great store and I do like shopping later.

I was very happy with the assistance I received. The staff are quite knowledgable without being "superior". I could spend a year's wages in your stores! "A woodworker's Toy Store"
