Unlike the other places we have visited, this clinic is definitely a top-notch! The women vets were respectful of the fact that our dog does not do well with men vets. As a result, not only was our pet feeling no stress, but she also warmed up to the workers and approached them on her own! And, mind you, she is EXTREMELY protective of her owner. So, that right there goes to show how awesome the Animal Dermatology & Allergy facility is! If I could give a hundred stars rate, I would've absolutely done it! Thank you very much for your time!

The staff is very friendly and caring. The Dr is very kind, takes her time in explaining options and answering questions. If your pet is suffering from allergies or dermatology issues, I highly recommend this clinic.

Great customer service, excellent response time and efficient pet care. We especially appreciate how meticulous and proficient Dr Sakai is with the treatment of our cat who suffers from an autoimmune disease. Things turned the corner ever since we brought him here and his health has been improving ever since. Worth the drive to Rocklin!

Dr. Sakai and team are excellent. Everybody that works there is professional, friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable in their job. Dr. Sakai is very thoughtful, practical, and really listens. While pet health is paramount, they address budget and your capability to follow through with treatment. The worst thing about this clinic is getting in as a new patient because there are no other animal dermatologists in the area. They work with you and your referring veterinarian to meet your needs, but you have to be flexible to be able to come in when they can get you in.

Clean and friendly staff. Would be 5 stars but vet didn’t know that animals with allergies can develop allergic reactions to elimination diet foods.

We had a great time. Workers were all very nice though there were few of them, the facility needs some maintenance and repair. Wish the owner would invest in updating and innovation. This place could really be a jewel with some TLC by the owner.

We are so grateful for this clinic! Our dog has environmental allergies and Dr. Sakai and her phenomenal vet techs have been so incredibly helpful in getting his ear and skin symptoms controlled. They are extremely responsive, easy to communicate with, and have always squeezed us in quickly when our dog needed to be seen.

Really like this place. Our cocker spaniel got an infection and swelling in both her ears. One of the few places that were able to treat her after a lot of research. They're very nice and good with communicating with you. Most importantly, they were able to make a plan that has helped to significantly reduce the swelling and it's still coming down. Initially another vet there recommended surgery to fix it but would leave her deaf. We were fine indefinitely having our dog on meds since it wasn't painful to her. They prescribed her some meds that are helping a lot.

I'm shocked. My poor hairless kitten has a rash all over and he needs medical attention, but the clinic does not have free days for an appointment until November. they offered help in 2 days at the price of emergence, but the kitten is already feeling bad. a doctor in a regular clinic cannot find the cause of the allergy and cannot help even for $$. why such a clinic if it is not available to help poor animals?

This veterinarian office was the first to really try and find out the cause of my cat’s scratching and biting skin issues. I was feeling very hopeless before Dr. Sakai and team clearly laid out our treatment options for what they suspected to be causing Archie his itchiness and got us on the right track. Archie is doing amazing now, and if we didn’t find Animal Dermatology & Allergy I feel that other less specialized vets may have never found the solution.

We love Dr. Sakai and all the technicians who are super polite, responsive and helpful. Thanks for giving our girl (kitty) a chance and helping her recover. Dr. Sakai comes with clear evidence based answers and does not recommend anything that may not help your pet. Which one would think is normal but we are from Reno and waited two long years to get some answers for our cat who has pretty severe allergies. Its been two months and we have got sooo much help. We cannot believe that we have a different cat now. So grateful for this place and people!

Great place and the vet spent a good 20 minutes going over my cat's skin problem and how the different meds work.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Sakai & her staff (Brie & Stephanie), & everyone else I interacted with today at our visit to Animal Dermatology & Allergy, Rocklin, CA. We're from Reno & our little Sulley (German Shepherd mix) developed an allergy which was making him sad & uncomfortable. Our regular vet couldn't pinpoint the cause so she recommended Dr. Sakai who specializes in allergy & dermatology. Dr. Sakai was booked out pretty far in advance, but I called & left a voicemail message & Brie promptly called me back within an hour! Luckily we scored today's visit as they had a cancellation. :). Upon check in, I was greeted with smiles by the lovely ladies at the front desk. Dr. Sakai was right on time and promptly took our little guy to check him over. Everyone was so pleasant, professional & caring with our boy. I was so pleased to hear that it isn't something serious and can hopefully clear up with dietary changes. She thoroughly explained what was going on with Sulley & gave clear instructions on his medications and diet. What a wonderful practice! I highly recommend Dr. Sakai and her staff. Our pup is in very good hands. Thank you for taking such good care of Sulley today. :).

I wish I had known about this place sooner. When I pointed out to our dog's veterinary eye specialist that I was noticing slight flaking around her eye, he told me it was allergies and to follow up without regular vet. Well, immediately I followed up and we went round and round to appointment after appointment trying to get on top of this. We had cultures, biopsies, etc. I was emailing our vet on a near daily basis. Calling our vet on the phone. Two months went by. FINALLY I TRIED GOOGLE. And, THANK GOD I FOUND THIS CLINIC. At first I was not sure if I could get an appointment because no one answers the phone. You have to leave a message and then wait for a call back. BUT, they do give you an email address. So I left a message AND sent an email with photographs. I thought I'd get a call within 24-48 hours but instead I received a call within an hour. AND, even though this clinic is very busy and they were scheduling appointments about two months out, they recognized the EXTREME URGENCY of our situation and got us in the door within 48 hours. I am SO THANKFUL. We arrived and IMMEDIATELY the vet told us this was NOT allergies. This was either 1) severe autoimmune, 2) very rare superficial necrotizing dermatitis (SND), or 3) skin cancer. Well, they did another biopsy to zero in on the exact issue we were facing. They also suggested we go to MarQueen for an ultrasound which we did on the following day. So the only bad part is they told us the lab results would be back in 4-5 days and the results did not come back for 10 days. That is the fault of the lab but I just do not understand how these labs can be so backlogged that we have a life or death situation here and there is no triaging of the work that needs to be done. I fault actually both the labs and all veterinarians here because I just feel veterinarians should be able to request STAT results. BTW, our vet DID request STAT results but the results still took FOREVER to return from the lab. ANYWAY, so very sad for us - our dog was diagnosed with SUPERFICIAL NECROTIZING DERMAT ANYWAY, very SAD for us. Our dog was diagnosed with Superficial Necrotizing Dermatitis. I will see if I can add some photographs. This is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE RARE DISEASE. The pads on her feet were raw and crusting including the dew claws. Her nose was clogging with thick hard caked on snot (inside and out) that did not allow her to breathe through her nose. My husband and I were manually pulling her buggers our and clearing her air passageway. He eyes were also somehow discharging body fluid causing them to cake shut. He weight had dropped from 27 pounds down to 18 pounds. I had been calling our vet almost daily to the point he did not call me back. This place is AMAZING and I only wish we had know about them sooner. We could have saved our dog's life - MAYBE. There is one known form of treatment and that requires a veterinary internist. Unfortunately the only places that have an internist are Marqueen (with ONE internist - appointment availability is NONEXISTENT - you have to wait an ENTIRE MONTH). Also, UC Davis has veterinary internists with NO AVAILABILITY. Even though I was detailed in describing our urgency. NEITHER MARQUEEN OR UC DAVIS would make time to see our dog. Damn you UC Davis - but I digress, that's a different review. Our dog DIED waiting to be seen by UC DAVIS. BUT, THANK GOD FOR ANIMAL DERM VETS. I now know where to go when we have a skin issue and NEVER WAITING AGAIN OR GOING ROUND AFTER ROUND with our main vet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! P.S. photographs for the benefit of those who also may be suffering with this apparently very rare skin condition - may you have a better outcome than we did.

Thank you to the vets here for taking the time to look deeper into my dogs allergies than just the surface. Luna had a mass in her right ear that a vet in this office discovered during her exam. She ended up needing a Teca-Bo and biopsy. If you want vets that care about your family, take them here
