They have moved me at lest 6 times in the past years. One item was broken but I would still give them 4 stars.

First you should know they subcontract you out. I didn’t know I was getting different moving company until they showed up. I would never have gone through a referral service such as this had I known. Learned the hard way that no accountability or authority over moving companies they send to you. The owner of moving company was so rude and angry that I now know I will not get anything back because starving students can’t do anything about it.Below is my review of actual moving company they sent to me but I will comment on starving student first.I had an absolute horrible experience with the movers. I was quoted 4 hours with 4 movers and they took 7.5 moving exactly what I disclosed we needed moved plus 30 min of driving time so 8 hours for 4 hour job. They were deliberately slow to get more money for move. I called starving students right after they left my house. I spoke to Ashley snd she was very nice. She said she would send to her manager to hopefully get some of the over charge refunded. I had to call back several times to follow up after no one contacted me. Every time I spoke to her she was very nice but never any results.Today almost 4 weeks later I called again to get update on my complaint. This time I spoke to Giovanni and he also was very nice. Told me he needs invoice so he can contact the moving company. I unfortunately can’t find it after 4 weeks of moving into our home.Found out today starving students can’t do anything about the horrible experience and overcharge from the moving company. The movers were Superb movers. The owner was very rude and on his phone a lot. I paid for 2 extra workers to insure my move would be done in time quoted. Only two of them actually looked like they were trying to get things done. The other two (one being owner) apparently had all the time in the world. My sons and I started to help with the unloading to help speed things up but too little too late. I paid twice as much as I was expecting and the owner had the nerve to try his best to intimidate me into giving a 20% tip. After I didn’t budge and told him he took too long and overcharged me he stormed off.

Worst experience ever! Not only were my guys taking a lunch during the job, but they were slower then DIRT! Broke my furniture and Nickle and dimed me to death. Corporate is horrible. Trust me the should be called rip off movers. Only had them move a couch and a few book cases and a bed. Had no idea it would take them hours. They took the long way to get to my house and they sat in traffic I took city streets and got to my new place 45 min. Before the arrived when they left my old place about 5 min before I did. All that time I was paying for. Seriously NEVER use them. They are shady as they come.

Not thrilled they sub-contracted the move to another company (went with Starving Student Movers since they were local and a team from Orange County drove out to my office in Riverside County). I was hoping that a 4 office move across the parking lot would be done in a few hours but I guess when you pay someone hourly they are going to milk it. Thought 3 hours and ended up being almost 7 hours! Not only hit my wallet it also significantly impacted my office move as I couldn't prepare to open the next day as planned. They got the job done which is why it got 2 stars. Although I feel like I should give those stars to the actual company that did the job.

Great moving service. Our movers were friendly, polite, and very professional. Took great care of my belongings, and even helped unpack/set up some of the bigger/heavier items. TJ and Joey were simply amazing.-thanks guys!

My daughter called starving student after getting a lower bid then a major moving company online. They told her it would be $2600 for 2000 pounds to move her to Utah. If it was 4000 pounds it would be 2800. So he thought OK double the items was only $600 more. When the movers showed up they loaded their truck and said this is going to cost you $6000 because we're not doing by weight we decided to do it by volume. Even though the contract said $2800 for 4000 pounds. They had no reason to triple their bed. She told them everything that she was going to move accurately. The representative would call her back. She told the movers had to put the stuff back in the house. They said fine but you have to pay $2000 for our time and trouble today. For three movers for six hours. She said she was going to pay they said they would not unload the truck. She called the police. All of a sudden the said OK will do it for $400. She said fine. Then they started unloading and the started unwrapping all the stuff which is a waste of time plus going to cost my daughter more money to have it wrapped by somebody else. The cops got them to stop. She said she'd pay for any of their boxes they use. She was crying. Her husband had already moved to Utah. She had a new baby and the new owners were moving in the next day. I called the management to ask on what basis they jumped it up. I'm a CPA They called her and said they'd giver her a 20% discount but the rate went up $600. And the truck driver said to store her stuff would be $1,300 a month!!! Usually it's $300. What a rip off scam company. I found Shannon at Budget Van Lines who seemed legit, got an emergency driver to pick up in 2 days for $3,300. If she's a scammer I'll write her up.
