I was shocked by the amount that TurboTax.com and H&RBlock.com said I owed in personal income taxes - the equivalent of a month's worth of my net income - so I decided to try a human CPA. Despite LR Tax and Accounting Services' website still being up and running, the company is no more! When I called their number, the automated system said to press 1 for Kimi Vollmer or 2 for Tracy Moeller. I pressed 1 and spoke to Kimi Vollmer, who told me that she was now servicing LR Tax and Accounting Services' clients. I made an appointment with her. On the day of the appointment, another client and I showed up to LR Tax and Accounting Services' old location to find the door locked with no sign that it had closed down or where Kimi and Tracy's office was. It turns out Vollmer and Associates' office is on 11741 Sterling Ave., Unit B2, Riverside, CA 92503. Kimi did a free 30-minute consultation for my personal tax return. I had carefully summed up everything about my income situation in one typewritten page for her. She was very friendly and offered some helpful tax advice, taking notes about my potential tax deductions. I expressed concern that if she did my tax return, I would still end up owing the same amount that TurboTax.com and H&RBlock.com said I owed. Therefore, Kimi offered to do a preliminary run of the numbers, call me, and then let me decide whether or not to have her file my tax return, so I agreed. Also, she said she would set up a secure virtual drop box for me to upload the tax documents she needed and e-mail me the link. She never did either of those. After I gave her all the necessary documents in person, plus a neat, color-coded list I had created of my volunteer and work expenses, I met with her once more and found that she had already created my tax return and was billing me $145 for her service. I reminded Kimi of what she had told me when I first met her, but she told me I had misunderstood her and said I still had to pay the $145 because of all the work she put into creating my tax return. The amounts I owed the federal and state governments were the same that the online free versions of TurboTax.com and H&RBlock.com calculated. It turns out she uses Lacerte, a tax preparation program, which is made by Intuit, which also makes TurboTax.

I am a first-time independent contractor who needed help with my quarterly taxes. Ina met with me on short notice (as in the same day I called her office), looked over my tax documents (etc.), explained the rules, and left me with peace of mind. Best of all, she helped me to determine that I didn't yet owe anything (yet). She's honest, knowledgeable, and service-oriented. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to know their taxes are in good hands.

I cannot be happier with the service I get from LR Tax & Accounting. They are prompt, tech savvy and smart as heck.I had so many questions and they helped me out so much. I was doing the books myself, and now that I have their help, I am taking much more control over my finances. Thank you Ina, Tracy and Patty.

I really enjoy working with the LR Tax team. Their customer service is fantastic and they know accounting. Every question I have is answered right away and since I want to learn they take the time to teach me. I am very happy to be working with Ina and her team.

Ina and her staff are not only very nice and professional, they work extremely hard. They care about you and are there for you for any question or concern you may have. They help my company out tremendously.
