Derrick (SIS) was a good teacher. Because of my participation he had to add one more lanyard to tie me while I was on the roof. He showed me and Zack (a new trainee/employee) a way to locate the rafter beneath the plywood by tapping hammer and listening to sound difference. The more solid sound indicates the rafter to where the bolt of the lanyard end goes through. I got to try tightening the foundations of the racking and modules. Since the owner did not provide lunch, the SIS went out of his way to buy lunch (Juan Pollo) to the volunteers (Devon & me) and his crew members (Miguel, Marcelo, and Zack). This eight-hour work was my third install and I'm grading it a 5-star experience (excellent).

I trained with Grid Alternatives EI, thanks to that, today I do a lot of installs with confidence and professionalism. I work overseas and the quality of my work is very appreciated, thanks for the practice. Keep on helping communities and contributing to a better world

Was able to be a volunteer and learned all the work Grid is doing for our local community. It's amazing all the technology and help they bring to families in need, will volunteer again and recommend that you apply and try to qualify to get a grant and get solar at no or low cost.

Volunteered at a solar panel installation a while back and because GRID connected with my school UCR I was able to work with other female students passionate about sustainability, be hands on with modern renewable technology, and learn how the natural source of the sun can help drastically reduce a family's electricity bill. Every worker there was very patient and thorough in explaining how everything works and in teaching us students what to do! It's great to see GRID provide for income qualified families, give free training for anyone interested, and support women in the field of solar!

I attended a solar installation as a volunteer, and I felt in love with the work they do. They are very helpful and passionate about what they do. They taught me how to wire an electric box (I had never done this before) and they were very patient about the process. I would keep volunteering with them not only because I love their work but also because it gives me work experience for the future.

Being International student, I feel blessed to experience such a great non profit organisation, Its my luck that I was working with incredible team of solar and serving there as a PV Design, Intern. My experience with technical guidelines of Mr. Victor and construction team as well entire team of solar was excellent and able to learn a lot from them and their experience. Best working place. Thank you for giving me such a good exposure to technical details of Power in United States.
