Richmond Hilltop Walmart is horrible! I often shop in the Walmart app for order pick up. I've never really had any issues until my last two orders. A few weeks ago, I ordered a parent's choice multi pack fruit pouches for my 1 yr old. The box I received was damaged. One of the pouches had been punctured and the fruit contents had molded on the box. Adding to the issue, the items had been expired for more than a month. The person who shopped for my order did not even look at the product because the mold was visible on the outside of the box next to the expiration date! Customer service was helpful when I called. Thankfully I was able to receive a refund without returning the item, as the entire box went into the garbage after I saw the disgusting mold. I was reassured that the store would be notified so that this would not happen again. My 1 yr old really enjoys the fruit pouches so I decided to try ordering them again. This time I was notified through the Walmart app that two of my other items were unavailable. Okay. So I picked up my order and went inside to find the "unavailable" items. I found both items IN STOCK. The shopper obviously didn't even look. When I returned to my car, I checked the expiration date on the parent's choice multi pack fruit pouches. It was my mistake for not checking when I first received the order. Again, I received an expired box! The store had not thrown out the expired products. I was so upset I didn't even care to go in and return the item. When I called customer service I was told that I had to return the item in order to receive a refund. Honestly, this is ridiculous because the item needs to be thrown away anyways. I was told for verification like I'm lying about a $5 item! I was offered $10 off my next purchase which I doubt I will use because I am DONE with Richmond Hilltop Walmart! Of course when I tried calling the store no one answers. I would rather drive 15 minutes to a different location or shop elsewhere. Richmond Hilltop Walmart needs to renovate and clean house! I know that there are more competent people who can be hired for these jobs. Really it's common sense to check expiration dates on food items. The issue should have already been taken care of by management anyways. I created a yelp account just to post this review.

Can't say I've been to a lot of Walmarts but this takes the cake as the worst experience. Disorganized and depressing -- literally you feel worse for having shopped there. You have to go upstairs to claim your pick up order. Aisles are too skinny and there are so many barriers to get from one row to another. Doug McMillon should try and visit this place -- pretty sure he'd do something immediately to rectify this sorry location.

Definitely a different layout than many other Walmart stores. This is a 2 level store with upper and lower level. I came here specifically for an online order pickup that I placed the day before. Unfortunately, other stores did not have the item for pickup. The online pick up area did not have any body working there and I had to go to a cashier to ask if I can some help. The cashier was abrupt and said to press the button on the keypad. I went and waited for someone to come and eventually they did come and got my order. I guess with most stores the staff can vary by location. I wouldn't come to shop here unless really had to like today where other stores did not have the item available for pick up.

This is a review for the cashier named Jared (or Jarod). He waited for a line of about 6 people to form on a Sunday night ( 11/19- upper level) before he told us his register was closed, around 6pm. When I asked him if there was gonna be another register opening up he literally laughed to my fair ' hahaha, NO!' His sarcastic laughter and response is beyond unprofessional. 0 stars for this, I will just take my business somewhere else in the future

To be honest if I can give a negative 50 stars I would. This is the worst Walmart on God's green Earth. I hope they close this store and almost every one of those employees lose their jobs because they are the most rude, ungrateful (to have a job) and horrible people that you must deal with while shopping in that store. I live in the Hilltop area but I rather go to Vallejo or Martinez than to deal with these people ever again. The latest incident occurred when two employees had blocked the entire milk and dairy aisle for over 20 minutes. So I decided to do my other shopping and come back. When I came back of course they were still there running their mouths and putting in gallons of milk one at a time. I along with three other people were waiting to get into the aisle. I noticed one of the men and I use that term very lightly was putting away the last 3 gallons of whole milk which I needed one of. I asked him could you please pass me a gallon. This a$$ put the gallon of milk in the refrigerator and slam the door and said, "Get it your damn self." I said, "That's not good customer service but I'm sure you don't know what customer service is. you guys have been blocking this entire aisle and wasted everyone's time for over 20 minutes at least from when I was coming down to escalator. I saw you guys blocking the aisle I did all my shopping and came back and you're still blocking the aisle. you see those other three people I decided I was tired of waiting on you guys and I kindly asked you could you pass me a gallon of milk but I guess that's too much for you to do." To which they laughed and I replied, "You won't be laughing when your butts are unemployed or stuck here for the rest of your lives which most likely will be the case!!" I guess it's my own fault for asking for assistance because every time I do I'm met with the most nastiest behavior ever from young to old. I guess it's just the Walmart spirit of that location.

I was wrung up by Charanjit at checkout. Everything was fine until I asked if I could please get a gift receipt for two of my items and she said we dont give gift receipts. I asked another worker and she said they do, when I told her that she got mad and rolled her eyes at me. Then she was trying to charge me separately for everything and U told her no I want to pay it all together and she laughed in my face and started shaking her head. I told her thats so rude why are you laughing at me. And she just kept laughing. Usually everyone here has greeted me and been so nice. Never have I had such a bad time with a cashier. Its unacceptable.

Walmart, the largest retailer in the world, it figures! I purchased two lounges in February this year, on Walmart's website (online). At no time did I know Walmart had 'marketplace" products online as well, never heard of "marketplace"??? I purchased both online with Walmart, and stored both until early June after the late May rains. I set on up to RELAX on, get some sun, and as I was face down, the leg towards my head collapsed pinning my knuckles under the frame on the cement. This was about June 3, whereby I called Walmart and wanted a full refund and wanted these UNSAFE-defective design, lounges picked up. The first Walmart associate said he would send Fed X labels, issue a credit, waited all week, called again on weekend of the 10th, same results, called on the 17th same results, then I asked for a supervisor, whereby the supervisor stated it was a "marketplace product and I needed to respond for refund within 90 days. I didn't need these in the rain! She sent me info for corporate, who stated I should contact the CC's company and terminate payment. I did and Walmart refuted it. These lounges were suppose to be relaxing)). So now I have defective lounges (2) to discard, and have paid for. COSTCO, Home Depot, Amazon would have issued an immediate credit and made arrangements to be rid of them. The engineering on these lounges is defective-UNSAFE, I told Walmart this, and they have the $$$$$ and move on, screwing valued customers. Never Again! Tell your friends and associates of Walmart's tricks, Marketplace, a scam to sell inferior, poorly designed unsafe products, not caring about their customers. Have pictures of the poorly designed leg after I used the lounge for less than 15 minutes total!

Most of the essentials are locked up which I don't mind..But the customer service sucks!!!!I was in the beauty section, pressed the button and waited for service...a black lady came to turn the button off but NEVER asked me what I needed and literally turned and walked away....I knew she seen me but I feel like she was discriminating against me cause I'm not black!!!!!crazy that a race that gets so hyped about discrimination would do the EXACT same thing.....SMH....

If you need to find something and ask an employee for help, good luck. There are very few employees who understand or speak English. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING!!!. Thank you to Drew, Brian and Cherie. These three people are very helpful and are very good at the English language.

This Walmart in hilltop is trash the store always smells the service sucks they really don't care to do there job they take forever just to come unlock items that they keep locked up the lines are ridiculously long downstairs and I don't understand why they ask to see the receipt when they just watched you the whole time in line paying for your items they need to be shut down like they did the mall it's pointless to have a Walmart there is they can't even keep it clean or have no more then three to four lines open downstairs they don't even deserve one star

ZERO STARS- this place is a migraine in physical form!!! I cannot even express how frustrating I was with the return service here, but let me try!! I bought some items using both a Walmart gift card ($100) and my credit card ($100) and came to this location to return one thing. When I didn't see the money in my account after a few days, I looked at the receipt and realized that they returned the money to the gift card which had been thrown away by the cashier upon purchase- a common practice I was told. I thought it would be an easy conversation since I had the return receipt as proof, but the manager at this store berated me in front of a line of people and accused me of lying about my situation. She then told me if my return of $40 was so important to me, I could make a written request to view security footage proving that my gift card had been discarded. Ain't nobody got time or patience for that!! This beyond annoying situation came after multiple long phone calls to this Walmart telling me I had to come in to resolve the return confusion, despite me saying it was a very long drive. Well thanks for stealing my money Walmart!! And hiring incompetent angry people as management.

This is a review for the pick up service. Wow, I am SO impressed with walmart's pick up service. I have ordered through pick-up twice and it was so great. The first time I ordered lashes and some other items that I knew were locked up and I didn't wanna go through the hassle of waiting for someone to open the glass for the multiple locked items. I parked, called the number, and someone was out within 5 minutes. The second time I ordered some items but unfortunately two of the five items were out of stock so they substituted it. When I got there, I was able to decline the substituted items and get my refund right then and there. I would also like to add that walmart now has the option to opt for bags or not. This is an option that I wish Target, Walgreens and many other stores would have as I am always charged for bags I didn't receive and have to go through the trouble of calling customer service. Overall, I really recommend shopping through the walmart app or online for pick up. It is so much smoother and efficient.
