I've been to Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai for car maintenance service 3 times now due to the location being convenient, but the level of service here is so bad that I cannot come back. It's no wonder that this is the lowest rated Hyundai dealership out of the 19 in Northern California.
- Usually don't pick up the phones
- Service manager is unknowledgeable, careless, entitled, and full of excuses. Only interested in getting your sale and then not delivering for you
- Their measurements ARE WRONG! (Yes, really, you can't trust the information that they provide on your vehicle)
- Do not have the necessary people available to do your job (even when booked months in advance), so you can't get everything done during your visit
- Do not have basic parts (eg brake pads) in stock, so you can't get everything fixed during your visit
- They will just leave you waiting for hours because they are too lazy to inform you that they are done with your vehicle
- Disorganized and can't keep track of their files. Unable to compare what changed in your vehicle from last time. (When I found the previous visit's documents myself, I discovered their wrong measurements)
- Pricing is ridiculous in comparison to minimal service provided, and inconsistent with their quotes. They do not complete your full job as promised!
I've wasted way too much time and money on this place for poor results. Never coming back here.

From start to finish, my experience at Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai was awful. I have literally never left a review here because I am generally pretty understanding and give people the benefit of the doubt. I had made an appointment to get a recall taken care of. Scheduling an appointment was hard enough because no one was picking up the phones. After a few days of trying, someone finally picked up and I scheduled the appointment, but literally a day before my appointment, I received a call telling me they had to cancel it. They did not do a good job of explaining why, but I did not push them for a better explanation. I asked that they give me a call/email when they were back up and running and able to take appointments, and they assured me that they would do both after leaving my email with the person who called. I never received a call back or an email. I tried calling weeks later. Still no one would pick up, so I called the Hyundai corporate number and they called Hanlees for me, and what do you know, they picked up when they called. I was then connected with a representative from Hanlees and I made my appointment (they did not have an explanation as to why they did not call or email me).
Fast forward to the day of my appointment. I went in for a simple recall, and they said that they do a multi-point inspection when cars are brought in for recalls free of charge. I appreciated this because my tire pressure light had been on and I had no idea why. They told me it would take 1-2 hours to do the ABS recall on my 2014 Elantra. I waited almost exactly 4 hours. When my car was ready, the guy told me I owed $250, and I was utterly shocked. He wanted to charge me for looking at my tire pressure light, which he made seem as if it were part of the multi-point inspection. Not once did he mention anything about a charge. I would not have agreed to have them look at it if I knew I would be charged anything, and since he clearly planned on charging me, he should have quoted me before doing anything. I don’t agree to pay for anything without knowing how much it will cost. That’s just common sense. I told him that it was unreasonable for him to charge me for something he never quoted me for, and he responded by telling me he would drop the price to $120 or something as if he were doing me a favor. Of course I refused, and I did not end up paying anything, but it all felt very manipulative, and I feel sorry for anyone who gets strong-armed into paying for things they don’t need or did not ask for.
I have since sold my car, and I am relieved that I will never again have to deal with Hanlees Hyundai.

Randy Hall and Joe’l Arances did a great job. I had a really bad experience at another dealer and had started learning the hard truth about lots of these dealers. Mandatory add ons that you don’t want or need mean the pricing is just a lie but not at this dealership. The price was the price and they were nice people. Joe’l handled my paperwork with efficiency. Get this: my payment on the same car is 1/2 the scam dealerships. They found me a decent interest rate. I’m having them install a tow hitch next week. Randy Hall was very kind and spent a ton of time explaining the tech of my car to me late into the evening. It was a very positive experience. Thank you.
