I live a couple blocks down and decided to give this place a try since my boots were falling apart (13 years of wear & tear).
Mike helped me out by replacing the soles and cleaning up the boots.
Great price and good service.
Thanks Mike

I bought a $120 pair of boots that I had bought here, and the owner refused to accept them. They were falling apart after only 2 months, and the owner said he wouldn't take it, because it was "The company's fault, not his". $120 down the drain. I'm never coming back here again.

Tried to return a pair of boots I had bought here for $120. They were falling apart after only two months. When I showed them to the owner, he refused to take them back or replace them, saying "It's the company's fault, not mine." Next time I need shoes, I'll go to a name brand store, that will replace a faulty pair of footwear, instead of blaming someone else. Never coming here again.

My favorite boots had needed resoling for a long time. Years. Reheeling too. Which is kindof a big deal to do. The wood was literally worn on the heel where the rubber was completely gone. Montana Shoes, and Mike, did a great job. They're a local business that's been operating for 45 years and they only charged me $75 to reheel and resole both boots which is actually a pretty good deal, having looked around. Especially on expensive shoes that I didn't want to have to replace because I love them and they're sentimental. I'm not exaggerating when I say they feel like brand new shoes. These shoes are probably more than 15 years old. If you need some shoes fixed I can't recommend them enough. They only took four or five days to do it and gave me an accurate estimate on time.

Unfortunately the sole experience I had with Montana Shoes was a negative one. Montana Shoes had agreed to replace the hand straps of a bag I had brought in for an agreed price of $20. Montana Shoes requested I return In a few days to pick up my bag w/ the fixed straps bargained for. Upon my return Montana Shoes returned my bag to me within one of their own plastic bags, assuring me that my bag has been fixed as arranged. I gave Montana Shoes the price agreed upon. Next, I opened the bad only to discover that Montana Shoes had not fixed the straps agreed too; rather they "replaced" a different strap that was not in need of repair and stated that that was their only duty when that was never agreed upon. Believing an honest mistake may have occured on their end I requested that Montana fix it as agreed, to which I was denied. I requested a refund and was also denied. This sort of practice is utterly unacceptable and should be known to any potential consumers considering Montana Shoes for their repair needs.
