The staff was super friendly and helpful but the amount of time it took for my appointment to be done, was way over the amount of time it should have really taken. And I was the only person there.Hence the 4 stars.

Good place, to take you pets, to provide the best care for them.

I enjoyed interacting with most of the staff there the few times I went. The veterinarian himself was aloof and rough with my kitten, however. My grandma also told me that he recommended euthanasia for her rescued kitten who had eye problems. Luckily she did not go for that. The kitten is happy and healthy today and gets around just like any other cat.

My puppy had been sick for about 3 days when we took him to see a vet. He had been vomiting for a while and refused to eat the day before we took him to the vet. As soon as we called Valley Veterinary Clinic, they were able to take him in the same day which was great mostly because other vets were not able to see him until two weeks later. He was attended but no diagnostics were done on him other than the doctor just checking his heartbeat and temperature. The doctor came to the conclusion that my dog had an intestine infection and prescribed him pills for infection and control of vomiting. An hour after we left the clinic, my dog refused to take the pills and vomited. We called the vet; they told us to come in again and they will give him a shot to control his vomiting. After Dr. Plumb had given my dog his shot, he was put on the floor and that is when I noticed my dog was bleeding from where the shot was given; I brought it to the doctor's attention, and he did nothing. I went out into the waiting room and asked if I can get something to wipe my dog's blood off and they kindly wiped it off for me. Thinking that the shot was going to replace the price of the pills they gave him, I walked out. I was told to come back in and pay and they told me it was because I still have the pills at home; understandable so I paid. My dog had stopped vomiting for a while, but I had a feeling this was something more serious than just an intestine infection. I took my dog to the animal hospital in Santa Rosa where diagnostics were run and was told that my puppy tested positive for parvovirus. My puppy had to be hospitalized for 4 days and luckily, he is back home with us, but he would not have been if I didn't trust my gut. The staff at Valley Veterinary Clinic is full of kind-hearted people. I have taken my dogs there before and was always treated great. I just wish that my puppy could have been correctly diagnosed and I wouldn't have had to pay around $200+ on useless medication.

I had to find another vet because the one we were using was awful. Dr. Plumb and his staff are fantastic, they know animal behaviors and how to handle them. I did not want my cat to have any drugs to calm her during a simple fur shave and the former vet couldn`t handle her PLUS wanted to charge an extra $250! Dr. Plumb took one look at her and said `no drugs,` and his assistant proceeded to get the fur off in less than 20 minutes with NO problem. It cost less than 1/4 of the $250. They schedule appointments within one week, the other vet had nothing for one to two months! Very friendly staff, the doc is pretty quiet but knows his stuff. THANK YOU!!!

Does not deserve a rating of even 1 star! Id rate this man a -10 if I was able too. How are anemic dogs treated? If your dog's anemia is so severe that it is life-threatening, a blood transfusion is needed. This may be performed immediately after a blood sample is taken for testing. The main purpose of a blood transfusion is to stabilize the dog long enough that a determination of the cause of the anemia can be made. Further treatment will be determined once the underlying disease has been diagnosed...... This man could of saved my dogs life but instead choose not too! You would think that a veterinarian of many many years would have the basic knowledge to know when there is extremely high or low blood counts on a basic blood test that when seen knows wether it's a life or death situation. I can only imagine the man has done the same test on many animals previously! It's basic knowledge that should of been taught in veterinarian school. If knowing that a dogs red blood cells are anything below 35% is considered anemic! You would think he would of had the knowledge to know that when's a dog blood work comes back with a 7.1% that it is seriously a life or death situation and the dog needs a blood transfusion ASAP!!!! Not tell the dogs owner that he recommends them to find a vet that can do a ultrasound first and then see what the cause is!!!! You should of made her stable enough to live then go on to fix the problem!!! What is the point in finding out what the cause is if the dog isn't going to live!!! Time was so critical. We didn't have time to go do that first!! This man knows that and failed. We brought our animal in faith he would help her, not to ignore the main issue which was to tell us what was needed to be done to save her life. He seen the levels of the blood count and failed to inform us of its urgency. He knew within hours unless we got the blood transfusions she would be dead! We talked to the other vet in which they said without a Doubt the first thing he should of done was tell us to go get one and then when stable we can figure out the cause. Not once did this man make it a emergency to do so! I 100% blame this man for the death of my dog. Highly poor service and because of him we lost a beautiful sweet girl. We need honest compassionate animal loving veterinarians!! Not someone like this helping our animals in this community. SAVE YOUR ANIMAL AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

James Plumb in my opinion did nothing to help my dog Bella and only took away her chances for survival and living by lying to me and stalling me for more money. I believe James Plumb does not care about the life of animals but is interested in more money and that is it.

James Plumb the so-called veternarian at Redwood Valey clinic in my opinion is responsible for the pain, suffering, disfigurement and ultimate untimely death of my Canine Bella because Plumb lied to me and stalled me around for more fees (money). Plumb did not do anything to help my dog and he did not suggest anything helpful or beneficial for my dog he just lied to me. In fact, it is considered Plumb infected my dog when he talked me into letting him do a biopsy on my dogs mouth while promising to provide cancer treatment which he lied and did not provide any treatment. I could go on and on with this but the primary purpose of this is to warn other people to not trust Plumb with your animal out of your sight and keep in mind Plumb and other charlatans like him care more about getting money than saving animals lives and won't inform people the are products out there to help animals with cancers unless there is gain in it for the charlatans.
