***This is a re-upload of my review dated 4/28/21. Since then, Towne Ford changed locations from 1601 El Camino Real, Redwood City to their Bair Island location. It's the same business, same management, and same poor practices. I imagine that they "closed" their old Yelp page to avoid all the negative feedback and start anew. *** Honesty is always the best policy. Unfortunately, it seems like Towne Ford Service Department has not adopted this into the way they run their business. I brought my 2013 F-150 into the service department for "the Works" - oil change, safety inspection, brake/coolant/washer fluid top off. No problems there, $80 in and out. When I dropped my car off I was told to come back later in the day, and they ended up running out of time so I picked it up the next morning. Still, not a big deal and I understand that things happen, jobs run long, etc. When it was time to pick up my truck, I received a call from my service manager, Jessica. She informed me that the truck was ready for pickup, and that during the safety inspection, the tech reported the "right rear brake pad" as having 2mm of usable pad left. I found this odd because pads (left & right front, and left & right rear) wear together - if one front pad is used, then all 4 front pads are used. Still, not a big deal, brakes are important and I'll pay for the peace of mind. Jessica then told me that the cost to replace the brakes was $365 + tax. I do all my own maintenance on several racing motorcycles that I own, and know that a brake pad replacement is a ~20min job. So I ask Jessica for the parts cost alone, and am told the pads cost $80. After politely declining the replacement pads, I pickup the truck and head to Autozone where I bought a set of ceramic (higher quality) pads for $50. Got my truck home, opened up the caliper, and found that the brake pads already on the truck had over 7mm of material left. That is ~80% of the total life of the brake pad still usable, and nowhere near needing replacement. To give them the benefit of the doubt and just to be sure, I checked the pads on all 4 tires. They all had over 6mm of material left. I was able to return the brake pads, so overall it cost me ~30min of time to learn that my dealer is dishonest and that I need to find a new mechanic. Very disappointing. Tl;dr - was told I needed new brake pads, for $365 + tax. Didn't believe them, brought truck home and checked. I found the brake pads were basically new, and the dealer lied, trying to scam me.

Towne ford is a waste of time. Scheduled a service appointment for 9:30AM on a Friday. I asked to get my AC looked at and for an oil change. Told me it would be a little slow, but they would start that day. They didn't start until the following week! When they did start, I asked for an estimated time of when it would be done. They said the oil change was done and that they would do the AC the following day. Two days later and they're still running a leak check and can't find any leak. Saying they would need to order a tool to help find the leak. As a service center shouldn't you have tools already to find these things? Waste of time, what should have been a 1-2 day service has my car out for a week and cost me $300 just to find the leak.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO THERE. Brought my company truck in for service. Had a couple of concerns as well. Asked for the concerns to taken care of prior to the service. Alex recommended that the tires be replaced to help diagnose the concern. I did ask for a tpms sensor to be replaced when they replaced the tires. This was all being communicated through text, which was very bad. Hard to reach on the phone and text replies took about 1-2 days for a response. After having the truck for 3 weeks, Alex told me there was nothing wrong and the truck was done. Even though I specifically asked to have the concerns taken care of prior to the services. He then said he would take another look into the concerns, not mentioning he was going to charge another 2 hrs of diag(1hr for each concern). He then replied back a week later saying that there was no problem found. By this time it had been in service for 28 days, so we decided to pick up the truck. When I arrived, Alex was not to be found. Truck was not washed, had some lot damage and....... The tire light was flashing and prompting that there is a bad tpms(which I asked Alex to fix when replacing the tires. The bill was close to $2500 for a minor service and 4 tires. I asked another advisor for an explanation, but he was unable to help. He did refer me to a manger for the other Brand in house. That manager said he would hav Ken(the manager of Ford), call me when he was back in the office. Still have not heard back. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE I KNOW. Even if it was a free visit. If it was my personal vehicle, I would be calling the BBB.

Contacted this dealer to buy a used Tesla. On the website the color of this model X looked like ultra red (darker than regular red). Wanted to make sure so I made the sales person check before I go there. As you can see it on the picture of the screen shot, this idiot told me it is Ultra red. So I completed the online application and took uber in the midst of my busy day at my clinic to go all the way to the redwood city. When I got here, it did not look like ultra red so I called the dealership. Tesla dealership told me Tesla did not make Ultra red in 2020. Duh. Want to know more? The midget looking manager comes out and tells me "oh Bryan did not do that intentionally." The hell. Yeah, get your facts right before you waste someone's precious time.

Recent visit to have my Ford 2011 F150 truck looked at because when I had the truck serviced at another Auto place, they tested the truck and found that no electrical was coming in or out of the existing fuse box as well as now the radio system was not operating too . So they told me to contact a Ford dealership that services trucks . So, I contacted Town, which was also close to where my sons place is, explained the issue to a service person over the phone and then was told to make an appointment . After a couple hours, I was contacted by the service person who took in the truck in the morning o tell me that they cannot do a diagnostic because the software is outdated. WTF outdated software. You would think Ford would have the ability to accommodate a 2011/2012 Ford 150 truck .Thanks for nothing......

I want to thank Kevin Ibarra for his help with our purchase of our brand new 2023 Bronco. He went out of his way to make sure we chose the right model. The process was easy and couldn't be happier with our choice.

Last two visits here for routine maintenance have been disappointing. Most recent, was told tires couldn't be rotated because lug nuts were warped. Service person admitted that Ford has had issues with low quality lug nuts on F150's. Sooooo, no tire rotation, brakes couldn't be checked and a $170 regular visit charge for just an oil change and fluid check. And sorry, they didn't have lug nuts available, either Ford or non-Ford. ?!?!?!? I was taking my truck on long-distance trip soon and needed tires/brakes checked. My local independent repair guy found me non-Ford, quality lug nuts the next day. Putting together a nice letter to Ford Customer Service about both dealership and low quality parts. Towne Ford has gone way down hill since moving to Bordwalk.

We bought a car from Towne Ford a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Our salesperson, Francisco, was straight-forward, responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. He gave us the info we needed and the space to make our decision. Once we had decided to move forward, he stayed with us through the full purchase process to make sure we felt comfortable and had our questions answered.

This place left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. We went in for a tour and the manager and sales folks were not engaged or willing to help. Was on their phones the entire time. Would not recommend.

I came to Towne Ford as a first time car buyer. When I walked in the door, I was helped immediately by Carlos. He was happy to answer all of my millions of questions and put together a nice deal for me after some back and forth. I would recommend working with him and the finance manager. Both good guys!

One very bad experience to report. After being on the wait list for 1.5 years my order for a new Ford Bronco Badlands has mysteriously disappeared! Now I have no Bronco as expected or even an order. I was no longer getting any response from the sales contact Kevin there at Towne Ford. After multiple phone calls and email attempts I became suspicious something went wrong. I then called Ford directly to investigate status for my order and all 4 times I called Ford was told they need the new order number because it changes with each calendar year. Even though I have an email confirmation: subject: Your 2023 Bronco Badlands™ Order Msg: "YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CONFIRMED" I'm now told Ford cancelled the order and Ford is saying the dealer controls creating the orders. Neither one can provide a 2023 order# and they both point at the other guy. WHAT A TOTAL CLOWN SHOW! This is totally unprofessional.
