Surly dispatcher quoted $150 to tow 1 mile, "there in 20 minutes". 40 minutes later the driver shows up ready for a jump start but unable to tow car.

Right or wrong no one likes there car being towed I didn't trust me I was hot. Pesy took the fuel out of the fire. His customer service and humor brought things back to normal. I hope you never have to meet him but he made a really bad situation pleasant

These people do not know how to tow they screwed up my 4x4 and they stole out of my truck They robbed my tools out my toolbox so not hire or trust this company they also screwed up my truck by dragging my 4x4 from the back wheels instead of putting it on the flatbed I’m pissed

This scam likes giving you the runaround, tell you your vehicle is in one location, getting there and finding it's in a completely different location in another city, rude, unprofessional

This is a piece of crap company. I got to the location before the stated lunch hour but still had to wait over 40 minutes. Had to call the main location and the Alameda location multiple times.When an employee finally came out he lied about his name and then said a name proud of it. Said if I complained use his name. Sad ass company. Dont use them if you can avoid it.Employee's name was Niko/Vin, if that can be believed.

These guys are great. Immediately picked up my call, says he'll call me back in an hour with a time. Calls me 15 min later, said his guy was nearby, 15-20 min away. Guy shows up, gets my car on the truck, delivered to the shop less than 30 min later, and all for a shockingly reasonable price. Definitely will use them again.

This is one of the best Towing companies I've worked with!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Yesterday, my BMW broke down on me and I called and got Luis.. He gave me a very good price just to TOW my car back to my house.. Giovanni That towed my car went above and beyond to help me, and I would definitely use this company again!!! These guys are the best if you're looking for integrity and honesty, this is the place to come to.. Thanks guys!!

Mind-blowingly unprofessional and rude. I had to call the San Mateo police on them because they refused to honor my appointment to retrieve an illegally towed car (not even mine, owned by my employer). According to the police, this was not the first time they have handled a situation like this.The employee who eventually came out accused me of "disrespecting" him and threatened to refuse to release the car to me. These people are the worst kind of vultures.

Specialty towed my car from a private parking lot at an apartment complex. Apparently, I had inadvertently parked in a reserved spot during an "atmospheric river" downpour and upon the advice of a tenant with whom I was visiting who said there was no problem parking along a fence on the property. At least there was a break in the rain as I walked the mile and a half to the towing yard on Spring Street after calling the number on the tow warning signs. The driver Luis who responded was polite and professional and arrived promptly. I was aghast at the exorbident price I would have to pay for removal and storage but at least I feel some comfort in the fact that Speciality is a Latinx-owned business and employs Latinos. I just hope that brother and sister Latinx are given some consideration when their cars are towed as most I know would not be able to come up with such large amounts of fees and charges on a moment's notice. To be sure, a most unpleasant experience personally but Specialty is a company that appears to act professionally and works within the law. I just hope there is flexibility and understanding in dealing with those who would have less resources that I was required to muster.Service: Car towing

When we wrecked our 40' Fifth-Wheel RV, it was towed to Specialty Towing on Oakdale Ave, in San Francisco. They were called at about 8:30 in the evening. They didn't show up until 3:15 AM! So we spent most of the night in the cab of our truck, parked on the street.When we went back that afternoon to get our belongings (we were living full-time in the RV), we called ahead to make sure someone was there, but when we showed up, the gate was locked, and no one was around. After about 2 hours, someone came to let let us in, but it was late in the afternoon, and we were told that they were going to close up in a couple of hours. So we had to leave a lot of stuff behind.For some reason, they waited 3 weeks before releasing it to the insurance company. I think it was so they had lots of time to clean it out.After the insurance company got possession of it, and had it towed to a lot they use, I made another trip from Portland, OR to SF, in a rented van, to get the rest of our stuff. That's when I saw the totality of their clean-out job. All that was left almost filled 2 medium-sized cardboard boxes, nothing more.And they DID clean it out. We lost 2 TVs, most of our clothing and household items, all the kitchen appliances, ham radio equipment, TV equipment, and a high-end sound system. All together, they stole over $6,200 of our personal property; anything that they could sell for a couple of bucks!This is in the hands of SFPD. And our insurance company is going to sue them for the value of the property.BOTTOM LINE: NEVER USE SPECIALTY TOWING AND RFECOVERY, THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!BTW, I am NOT from Shingle Springs, CA. I don't know where that came from. I live in Beaverton, OR.

Friendly service. Very responsive on the phone. Had two flat tires so needed a flatbed. Luis was great at providing an explanation and set expectations on how he needed to move my car onto the flatbed. Will definitely use them again if I need a tow.
