I am a prescriber, and my staff and myself included had the worst experiencing trying to get a patient's prescription today (3/18/24). Because it was a controlled substance, the pharmacist on call today demanded to know why the patient was being seen a location that is far away from his home. When an unsatisfactory answer was given, pharmacist was very rude and promptly ended the call without being able to further explain the situation. I highly recommend patients and providers stay away from this pharmacy, very unprofessional.

Bad service with the staff at that pharmacy, they give you a schedule and come out telling you to wait 25 more minutes and then they go for a 1 hour lunch

I have been really happy with this pharmacy for the past few years. Prescriptions are generally filled quickly. They have helped me so many times figuring out if my insurance or a good rx coupon would be cheaper. I've also gotten a vaccine here which was quick and professional (plus you get a safeway coupon). They are much friendlier and less busy than the Walgreens I used to go to.Of course there is sometimes a line, and they close for lunch for 45 minutes (there are a million signs notifying you and it's been this way for years, so idk why people are still surprised and outraged). Like all pharmacies, do NOT try to call them, they are usually too busy to answer or talk for long - if you have a question or need advice GO IN PERSON.

People at the front desk were nice but make sure you get there atleast 10 min before they go for lunch (1pm) or they’ll turn you away. Glad they’re establishing time to take a break (so needed!) but it is frustrating especially when you get there before 1pm and have to wait almost an hour

People here do their best to offer good service despite clearly being understaffed and constantly having to rush. The 5 stars are for the staff.

I am a pharmacist, and I do not recommend anyone come to this pharmacy. Long wait times and high copays don't bother me because I know that most of the time this isn't in the control of the pharmacy staff, and it hasn't really been an issue here. What does bother me is when people who work in healthcare do not seem to understand that their jobs affect people's lives and wellbeing. The pharmacy staff here are unapologetically sloppy, rude, and apart from the one brunette pharmacist who works hard, lazy.

I established care at the Safeway Pharmacy in Redwood City and was able to pick up my prescriptions for about 4-5 months. On my next refill I was told that the pharmacy would no longer be filling my prescriptions since my Dr. is located in Los Angeles not the Bay Area. I am shocked how an established patient who has been getting the same medication from the same doctor each month is suddenly refused access to the medication.

Website says flu shots until 1:15. When you call they say 1. When you get there they say 12:30

This pharmacy’s service has been going downhill for quite a long time, but today takes the cake! I called earlier to see if they were offering flu shots and if I need to make an appointment. Yes, there are, and no, I don’t need an appointment. I came to the pharmacy at 4:50p.m. (10 minutes before they were to close.) No one was in line and as I told the young man at the counter that I was there to receive a flu vaccine, he informed me that the pharmacy closes at 5:00p.m. Yes, I understand that, it is now 4:50 p.m. and I show him my phone. He proceeded to hand me a form to fill out, which I completed by time the pharmacist was through with her phone call. It was now 6 minutes until 5:00. The pharmacist comes to the counter and informs me that they close at 5:00. Yes, I understand that, it is now 4:54 p.m. and I look at my phone for confirmation. The clerk turns off the lights. The pharmacist says that they cannot give me the vaccine as she would need to approve my Medicare insure first, and I have my card in my hand. Heaven help these people who cannot work 1 second longer than their shift, if even needed. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE AT ALL! She was NOT going to help me, period! I left and I went to Rite Aid at Roosevelt plaza and timed the entire transaction to get the flu vaccine. It was a grand total of 10 minutes, including filling out Rite Aid’s form and the pharmacist helping other people in the drive through lane. Needless to say, Safeway could have completed obtaining approval from my Medicare insurance and administering the flu shot within that entire 10 minute time frame that it took Roosevelt. Safeway pharmacist would have been done by 5:00p.m. If only the she, the Safeway pharmacist, wanted to do her job and be kind.

PhaRmacy workers clearly have no idea how to deal, with customers. As of today, I am transferring all.my prescriptions out of the reaches of this Safeway pharmacy. I am tired of having problems each time I need a refill.

Let me be succinct. I have reported the pharmacist to the state for incompetence. You might risk your life if you use this place

I reported this pharmacist to the state for incompetence. The staff is poorly trained and surly. They don't know how to access the online app services and, consistently, refuse to honor payments made online before you go and pick up your scripts. Prescriptions that have been set up for next day deliver will sit in an out box for weeks. I once went down to find out where my script was after a week and tey said it had been mailed out. I went back in a week and asked them to check the outbox but they refused. I asked the Safeway Manager to go back to the pharmacy and look in the outbox themselves and there it was. They never gave it to the USPS for delivery. I've also had wrong doses filled and mislabeling. You take your life in your hands if you use this place.

0 's. Go there & you'll find out. All the reviews about this location are right on. This caravan of Pharmacist have no clue of service, people needing their medication for their week being or respect of their time. They just seem to be more concerned with pun ching their time clock than having any clue about handlig the importance of one's medication. So disturbing!

Price is lower. Waiting time is long despite short line. It’s kind of challenging to know beforehand how much to pay though. The clerk just asked me to swipe my card and handed me a receipt.
