I have used this place twice. The first time was great. The second time, I am 100% unable to reach the branch by phone, and the corporate customer service agents on the phone are given no power to help the customer. Very frustrating.

Overall good place for storage. Reason for low review - they have been consistently raising prices - started at $407 5 years ago, steady for a while, then 10%+ increases for several years and now just raised to $629. I've asked them to keep rates steady but their explanation was that I was paying below market. Fair enough. But most recent increase puts my rate above what they list similar units at (regular prices, not promotions) - which just feels wrong. I contacted them and let's see what they will do about it - but trying to charge your long-term tenants more than your regular rates is just wrong.

I loved the straightforward process of acquiring a storage unit. The tour, which included a ride on a golf cart, was spectacular. The employees are incredibly sweet and professional.

Nice people. Good communication about their hours and holidays, help is available, free with move in and $$ after. So far it's been clean and safe..... We have used them on and off for 30 years.

Went to access my storage unit today. The gates were chained shut and no access granted. No notifications. No email. Just closed. I can't access my personal property what so ever. A huge inconvenience.

I am not sure how Saf Keep has a 4.7 rating--this probably says more about the storage industry writ large than about their business practices. In the 3-4 times I spoke to the front desk, employees were nothing but condescending. For a place advertising premium services (at premium prices), we expect better. Additionally, you should be aware that they prohibit delivery of any sort of PODS-type moving container--even if it will only be stationed in their lot for a short/fixed period of time with the moving truck still present and holding the box. I ultimately had the PODS truck wait for me across the street while I transferred my stuff to a U-Haul to drive 1 block and transfer it again. Finally, don't forget the 10-day notice for vacating your storage--no prorating is available if you were to give notice a few days prior to your next billing cycle, as I did.

My experience with Saf Keep's Redwood City location has been great. But the customer service provided to me yesterday by Saf Keep, and especially Madison, went above and beyond & is worthy of noting here. I showed up with an open truck bed full of stuff I needed to unload quickly, because rain was moving into the area & was imminent. Immediately, the front office called Madison to help me unload right away. I don't know the name of the woman who was working at the front desk yesterday afternoon (I was in a rush), but she's wonderful, too. Madison was gracious, efficient, kind, and super duper helpful. In no time, the truck was completely unloaded into my storage unit before any rain fell. I literally could not have asked for better customer service - I was provided caring, super responsive, top-notch service. Madison rocks! Saf Keep's Redwood City location is a great choice for your self storage needs. They really care about their customers. Their pricing is competitive, too.

my credit card was hacked by Alma and Liz 3 times in this place. If you charge, make sure you don't give your CVV number outload to them if they ask for it. It is illegal to give that to them. And, with a masking tape cover the expiration date and CVV number and all the other numbers except for the last 4 digits of the card. Better yet, just pay cash and MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECIEPT.
