I'm consistently pleased with the work Peter does for me each year. My tax returns are somewhat complex, involving income from a trust (which requires its own separate tax returns) as well as reporting on an in-state and an out-of-state rental property. I strongly dislike doing the necessary prep work for my tax returns each year, but Peter makes the process of gathering the information and getting organized as straightforward and as painless as can be reasonably expected. The things that I dislike about doing this prep work are the fault of the US and CA tax codes, and definitely not the fault of Peter. To the contrary, he makes this annual obligation easier, more bearable, and more doable. Plus, Peter is a genuinely nice guy -- friendly, responsive, professional, etc. Finally, I'm skeptical of Nicole L's negative review posted here from 2019. Her experience is not my experience with Peter. Not at all in fact.

I contacted Peter over the summer for some tax consulting. He was able to provide me with the tax planning that I needed in order to make some complex financial decisions. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and provided clear guidance. He requested that we communicate via email, so that he could make sure that he had all the facts and correspondence to assist me with my tax issues. Once he understood the issues, he was able to put together a plan, and review it with me over the phone due to Covid restrictions.

Refused to speak via telephone. Mr. Diaz asked me to describe my business and accounting. I provided a short overview and he responded by saying:“ Thank you.not enough detail about the entity. I can’t help with lack of any detail and poor communication. I was hoping for a few paragraphs. We can’t help you.”In light of his own poor communication, punctuation errors and rude tone I cannot recommend you pursue his services.

My husband and I just had our taxes done by Peter Diaz, CPA and we are very satisfied. I first met with Peter when I was getting ready to open my own small business. He was very informative and his pricing was and is fair. Peter was also able to help me with estimated payments in 2019 even before we were officially signed on as tax clients. Every interaction we've had has been smooth. Within a week of meeting in person for our 2019 taxes, Peter was nearly done preparing the returns. Once we gave him the rest of our information he finished very fast! Not all CPA's are this responsive and thorough and we really appreciate that. We'll be returning next year!

Peter was our accountant for several years. He was adequate. Unfortunately, this year he did not update his system to send the correct bank info for our tax payments, despite the correct bank being listed on the tax planning form he generated. This cost us over $10,000 in penalties for late payments. He refused to accept any responsibility, and instead treated us with contempt and told us to find a new accountant. A real piece of work. I recently moved from Redwood City to San Diego but decided to stay with Peter for all my tax preparations. I emailed and faxed him all my documents and he prepared everything virtually. He also took the time to review all of my specific needs for my tax return, and he quickly responded to all my emails and phone calls. He really provides excellent service at a reasonable cost. I will definitely be a return customer in the future with his firm because of his extremely personalized and friendly service. It is great dealing with Peter to do the income tax for my business. Most all of it can be done electronically and I never have to go to his office. This works well for me and my busy schedule. Many times he may be closed for the day and I can shoot him an email or fax for him to look at the next day. He is a true professional who helps make sure my business is successful.
