Giving my shoutout to Jake. Thank you so much for your help in the gardening section!! He went above and beyond to help me with my visit today from making my section of a fruit tree to carrying the heavy soil to my car. There's a closer Ace where I live, but it's not as friendly as this location. I would definitely make my way down here again for my gardening needs.

Outstanding store manager, for the second time I had an issue where the manager personally stepped in and ensured it’s all is well, including getting his hands dirty with a carpet washer. Much appreciated.

I had the friendliest, most patient service at this store. Alex helped me find an obscure screw that I was looking for, and never made me feel dumb for not knowing the basics, like what a Phillips 1 screwdriver was. This is my new go-to hardware store for everything.

I love a good hardware store. As an interior designer, I often need a part, a bolt, a light bulb, or paint sample on the fly... and I love being able to zip in and get what I need from this incredible store with a highly competent staff. And.. they are nice! Can't beat this combination. #KHBdesigns

I recently visited this Ace as I have business in Redwood city that I arrived early for. I entered the building shortly after 7 as staff was setting up displays outside as normal, and the kind older gentleman greeted me and said good morning. I mainly came to this one because they seemed to have a decent garden center as I have picked up gardening as a new hobby. A younger gentleman opened the garden center as i was still browsing the isles and picking up the one item I came for. Going out to the garden center, I was very impressed at all the plants and garden supplies. I initially was planning to spend at least $200 on garden supplies until I had an encounter with the older woman who works there. I turned to look around the garden center, and the older woman was standing in the doorway staring at me and making me very uncomfortable. After about 15 seconds, she approaches me and asks if there is anything I can help you find? I kinda told her no, I'm just browsing. She then proceeds to tell me that the garden center isn't open until 8. I can understand that, but why are the doors open? She walked me back inside as the younger gentleman told her "oh you can leave it open, I'm done out there." I felt profiled as a thief because of my appearance, black sweater, backward black hat, and jeans. It was not a racial issue. The gal was white/mix and so am i. I've worked retail 10+ years, and I know when someone is being watched for possible theft. Maybe the garden center isn't open til 8, I don't care. The way it was handled was very unprofessional, so I bought the one item I needed and walked away, not spending any money. I will not be returning to this Ace or any of their other six locations. I was very satisfied with the garden center but I am not ok being profiled. I'm a 32 year old Male who is very responsible and respectful of others, and I understand how my style can be profiled, but that was completely unacceptable.

The staff here are incredibly helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you find what you're looking for.We also used the Handyman service that they've recently started, and Richard came out and took a bunch of tasks off our todo list. He was kind, helpful and efficient. We couldn't be happier. Will be using the service again.

Ace Hardware is a hidden gem! Despite its size, it's stocked with a wide range of items. The store's standout feature is its attentive and helpful staff. They are always well staffed.

This place is the definition of terrible. I’ve been in here three, maybe four times, and each time the staff has been unhelpful. Last month I was here looking for advice about power tools for cutting wood because I’m a novice and know nothing. The person who spoke with me seemed to have zero interest whatsoever to explain what kind of tool might be best for the job at hand. I ended up leaving that visit in disgust and no closer to finishing my project. Today I returned for a product I’ve purchased here in the past: large jugs of kerosene. When I was unable to find any kerosene, I asked for help from the front desk who vaguely waved me towards the paint section. After exhaustively searching the paint section I found no kerosene. No one ever followed up with me to help me find what I was looking for and upon returning to the front desk the person I had originally spoken to paid me no attention. I am done with this place. Every time I come here I not only leave without the product I need, I leave feeling like I’ve wasted my time. I am cutting my losses and heading elsewhere from here forward.
