Gas Stations in Redwood City, CA

“This is the only gas station (I know of) that always has a line (or lines) of cars for the pumps. Once you get past the line(s) it's smooth sailing as long as you have a Costco membership card. Or maybe you can ask for a guest pass like you can at the warehouse (I don't know if that would work or not at the gas station). There's no mid-range gasoline or diesel, just regular and super gasoline.”

“The service here is always good; there are several lovely Associates, such as Nina and Rosie. The Store has a great selection of products, with good prices. Additionally this Arco Station is usually one of the lower-priced ones in the area. I appreciate the 10 cents a gallon further discount if you pay cash.I can truly give a favorable recommendation to them.”

“It's been a while since I've been here, and they take credit cards at the pump now! They also have soapy water which isn't too soapy, yay! And two sizes of scrubber/squeegee to wash your window with, which is very thoughtful!”

“So I just use this station for the first time and I didn't actually use the gas station I use the garage. Somehow or another I picked up two nails in one tire.
I live right up the street from this station and have not visited it before during the COVID I think the garage part of it was closed down and getting in and getting out to get gas there is tricky because of the intersection. But today I pulled into the shop I had a guy come out of the office his name was Mo. He was very helpful he took a look at my tire knew exactly what to do did not try and sell me four new tires. I think for small maintenance items I will go back in there again. They were quick efficient and wet above and beyond what I was asking. The price was more than fair.”

“We live out in this boonies area and are largely happy to have not just one but two gas stations to choose from! Alices is our favorite. When other gas stations (especially down the hill) hiked up their prices during the recent heat wave, Alices kept their prices steady and sane. They are regularly among the most reasonably priced spots in the area, such that I sometimes take my chances driving up the mountain with the gas light on rather than fill up in the valley. This parking lot is bananas during the weekend, so your experience might be shaped by whether you're up here as a "weekend tourist" or around for the most relaxed M-F local scene.”

“Always a pleasure doing business with them. Discount offered on two packs or more for cigarettes. Prices are a little steep as far as drinks & food items go. But that's why it's called a convenience store not a discount store. Quick & convenient are generally expensive. Especially here in the Bay Area.”

“100 Octane. Thank you so much! Even if I'm just buying 87 for my truck I will go out of my way to support the owners of this station that are providing a community service by offering 100 octane race fuel.”

“Arco Gas Station Redwood City on Whipple and Veteran Ave.Has enough pumps to accommodate many vehicles at the same time. I don't think I've ever had to wait to access a pump.Open 24 Hrs I've never felt unsafe and the snacks, drinks Coffee are good, it could be a bit better with hot food, however earlier in the day may have that, by the time I get there it seems to be sparse. That goes for the pastries and or donuts which are not consistent but by chance I've been successful. The large fountain drinks are great and well priced I'm partial to the Horchata very good super big, but it is a high sugar drink and does affect my Sugar levels so be aware if that's an issue. The location is great as there are many excellent businesses nearby, such as The Goodnight Inn, an affordable comfortable motel with free excellent coffeeNext to the Inn is a really interesting and fun activity for artists or just to walk around collecting free fire wood. The large open space is a Feild of tree stumps large and small pieces of beautiful big chunks of tree trunks of various free remnant wood for fire wood as well as for making table tops and craft stuffGreat for an outdoor activity with kids, easy to pull over and have a great time looking and having a tactile experience. Just be careful as the terrain is walking over tree parts that vary in elevation, but it's a blast to trudge through the wood that has a great wood cut smell.Wow there so much more all around this Arco, I could go on for awhile until describing, I'm just going to mention some things at the top of my head but it really is a great area with Freeway access right there as well. Many excellent food, breakfast, shopping mini shopping mall craft stores $100 store,, AAA location, great Pawn Shop. That's all I have time for, shower not far from there are many other gems for grocery outlet, Trailer repair at Victor Bros. Fabulous trailer supplies. Outdoor and work clothes supplies at (I need to get back to add the name I just can't think of it, but it's a great outdoors store) they have great outdoor shoes, boots, hats, heavy duty clothing, camping surplus supplies. A bit higher priced, but worth what you will spend~high quality. Thrift store shopping at Savers is always a great time at for excellent affordable clothes and household shopping.Seafood, hamburgers, pizza all in the vicinity of Arco, so it is a great location and very close to the Kaiser Hospital, and Downtown Redwood City Area that has great Police Officers and houses many former Citizens now working out issues as inmates in the Sheriff's Department's Secure Corrections Dept. and Probation Offices, but you wouldn't even notice it at all, it is cloaked by so many other cool things that are in every direction~ Life can be so great!!!Randy Chavez”

“Just fueled up the other day with some HPR. Actually ran into the propel fuel maintenance guy at the pump, nice guy. Didn't learn till after the fact but my buddy told me if you take a picture of the propel truck at the pump and post it to propel fuel's Instagram they give you a shout out or something. Didn't know at the time otherwise would have snapped a picture and posted. Anyway great alternative fuel wish it was available at more fueling stations.”

“Clean gas station that has recently been rebranded and updated with new pumps. Use the ExxonMobil app, Google Pay/Apple Pay to have a touchless experience and prices that are inline with everything else in the area. It's just around the corner from me so it's also convenient.”

“Super nice staff & love the paint job on the building! Reminded me of the way gas stations were in the eightees. The only thing missing was someone pumping your gas. Good prices too!”

“Usually the cheapest gas near my home, open 24 hours a day if you are using your debit card, long hoses for getting around to your car - you can only enter from one direction”

“I had used the carwash previously with good results, but today i paid $13 and it didn't really clean the mud and carwash time was shorter than normal and that could be the reason the wash was not completed.”

“Lowest priced gas in the area besides costco, half the time. The pumps are a bit eh but its the lowest priced gas.. The grumpy old man behind the counter leaves much to be desired.. But again, lowest priced gas in the area”

“Among the cheapest Chevron prices in the area, lots of pumps, air and propane, restrooms, a small convenience store. I wish they put cleaner in the windshield wiper squeegee water, but otherwise a good place to go.”

“I frequently choose this gas station for its consistently lower prices. Despite its popularity, prompt service ensures minimal wait times at the pump--a notable advantage over the adjacent junction. Efficient and cost-effective fueling experience.”

“This station has very reasonably priced gas and the people that work in the convenience store are very helpful, friendly and efficient. I was there last night and there was a young woman with a dog shouting at the employees--they asked her to take her dog out but she continued to terrorize them and make stupid excuses. If the sign says NO DOGS, it means NO DOGS.”

“My car was in much need of a wash but due to social distancing I needed a place where I could just drive through a machine, no contact with anyone and have the scrubby rollers do their thing. Fortunately, the Chevron off Whipple did the job! As I drove up, there were only about 3 cars in front of me. When I was next in line, I did have to slide my credit card and press the touch screen once to indicate I wanted the $9.00 wash. I keep purell in my car so I was able to wipe down my card and my hands. The wash took a few minutes then I was in my merry way home leaving all the 20 Lbs+ of car grime behind. It's not the most thorough of washes but my car is cleaner than it used to be. Thanks Chevron Car Wash!”

“I always go to chevron because I can clean my windshield with soapy water and they always have napkins for car. The new chevron app is the best! I will go out of my way to find a chevron nowadays because the perks are so good. When you first join you get HUGE savings for the first 3 fuel-ups. At least as of Dec 2023. I completely recommend trying chevron. Use the app and the gas won’t be expensive like most think and it’s better for your engine. I can feel a huge difference in my car! They have a car wash and I can count on it being clean and working properly. The stores are always well supplied and open! I can’t say enough. Yes chevron!”

“I had an interesting experience here today.First, some key observations:-NO PUBLIC RESTROOM-No carwash-small food shop with lots of stuff-very nice clerk-high gas pricesIt's mid-afternoon, and I'm driving down Woodside Rd with 1/4 tank of gas. Hmm, I better get gas before getting on Hwy 101-South to San Jose. I spot this Shell Station w/ a Food Shop, and decide to fill up. I carry the Shell gas card (with Premium status), and it gives me 5-cents off per gallon. While it's pumping away, I go into the food shop to checkout the snacks and drinks. OMG! No public restroom and that food shop is tight for space inside. But it's loaded with everything you could want. The usual stuff like: Snacks, drinks, sandwiches, candy, ice cream, etc. FACT: A hungry driver gets tired faster. So grab something to munch on while driving. The young lady working as cashier is very polite and patient with customers. This shop is small inside. When 3 customers come inside, you can barely turn around. I go out expecting the pump (# 3) to be finished. BUT NO! It stopped at the 5.5 gallon mark. Yikes, this is not good. I had to restart the pump, and then went back inside to find out why the pump stopped. The polite cashier told me pump #3 sometimes stops for no reason due to vibrations or shaking. Uh-okay, so the nozzle clicks off due to ground vibration. Okay, so more time to buy more junk food for the road. Gas prices are high here. On Feb 10, 2023, UL REG was $4.85 without discounts. Midgrade and Prem are over $5-gallon. But this station is on Woodside Road. A major roadway leading to freeways. Heavy traffic flow. People like me carry the gas cards of five major brands of gasoline. Shell is top tier gas, and today Shell got my business. This location has no carwash. There is enough room to maneuver pickup trucks, SUVs, and light trucks pulling trailers. Good luck when leaving, there's some tight turns around the islands. “Hidden Gem in RWC for German-Mercedes, Audi, VW- car specialists repairs and enthusiasts. The owner is personable, helpful and provides a detailed quote and is the best German mechanic I have ever used. The reason I started going here was because I live nearby and I said why not just need an oil change for my late model mercedes sedan and they did oil change-not much can go wrong. I then brought in my 12 year old Audi A6 and he fixed a major engine (misdiagnosed by a chain store repair shop) problem quoting only half of what a dealer and other "German car specialists" quoted. The owner/chief mechanic is an honest, reputable old school Mercedes Benz classically trained specialist who will not rip you off- older models are his specialtty. Checks accepted, unlike those dealer establishments. Sure you can get free coffee and a newspaper at a dealer during service but you can save thousands here!”
