Slightly hidden used bookstore in the basement of the San Mateo County History Museum and operated by volunteers to benefit the historical association.
A large selection of all types of books are well organized across many rooms. Quite a few old books may keep collectors browsing for a while. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Prices are very reasonable.

An amazing "little" used bookstore tucked away in the basement of the history museum. We were amazed at just how much was actually there! Most books are $1-$5.They have a large selection of older books, a handful of rare finds, and books of all ages in nearly every category you can imagine. We happily spent an hour roaming the shelves hunting for treasures.**Cash or check only!** So come prepared. Next time I go, I'm bringing more cash!(There is a Chase ATM across the street)

I LOVE this bookstore! When you first arrive, it looks like a smaller bookstore but then they have a large second room. I've bought classic books here as well as bestsellers.. they have something for every reader. Very cheap books and the staff is wonderful as well!

My favorite used bookstore to lose myself in! Bring cash and don't plan on having cell reception. Friendly people and great (but unpredictable) selection of books. Super cheap so it's a fun place to treasure hunt!
