Gorgeous looking produce here. The market is small but very clean and goods are nearly displayed. Prices on produce can be above or below other market prices, so if you know prices well, you won't overpay. For instance, white onions were 99c/lb, same as Safeway, but the medium avocados were 99c each (cheaper than Trader Joe's) and large avocados were $1.99 each for example. Canned and non-perishable goods have limited brand selection and higher than average prices on certain items, but they're there for your convenience if you don't want to make stops at multiple markets.Neat place, I will definitely return when I need Latino cuisine ingredients and super fresh produce.

I was looking for some specialty foods and I couldn't find them in Safeway or Lucky, so I went to El Mercadito Latino on El Camino in Redwood City and found what I was looking for, beef liver. Oh some of you might think eww, but do you know it's one of the most nutritious things too eat. Also found mini bananas that I used to enjoy when living in Asia. Good selection of hot sauce and other Mexican groceries.

We come here occasionally for a few items. It's a small market with reasonable prices. We often pick up white onion, tomatillo, limes, cucumber... some produce needs to be used rather quickly so just keep than in mind. We've also tried their smoked pork chops and skirt steak, queso Oaxaca, pan dulce, and more. Everything has been good so far. Small parking lot so just be careful going in and out.

We were in town so decided to stop at a favorite of ours. This place has expanded. I remember this being a home in the wall when we moved to the area in the early 90's. Then when I got back from the military in the mid 2000's this place was still going strong. It's nice to see that the people are still friendly and willing to help. They have expanded to add a carnicería. That's a plus. And they still have some familiar faces working there.
