The person who works here has very poor customer service. They over charge for the lock and when you question anything, they start misbehaving. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I was recently locked out of my home and Jacob was able to unlock my door in a timely manner and replace the lock for me, as it was a safety concern. He was polite and helpful, I appreciated his kindness and patience with me during an especially stressful time. Definitely recommend Dependable Lock and Hardware.

Worst customer service. Called to see what gate door handles they had in stock and explained I needed the handle today. When I asked for the brand and model to see a picture online before driving over, the male employee told me to go to the store and hung up on me. I would not recommend this business unless you like to be treated rudely.

Avoid. Jacob, the owner, is rude and unhelpful. Also either unknowledgeable or untruthful. He has a selection of very high end hardware, but carries only a few of the the middle price brands, and none of the inexpensive brands. And his prices are laughable (see Lorena E's 6/21/2021 YELP review) : an upper end door pull is 600% (!) higher than a mid-level brand, and his middle class prices are 20-50% higher than the internet and local stores (e.g. Belmont Hardware). From the other reviews, it looks like he knows how to make duplicate keys.

I'm saddened to write this review, since I was looking to support a local, family business, yet "got screwed" in the end. Jacob, the owner, was knowledgeable for the most part, and thoughtful in "walking me through" all the pieces of my door hardware order when they arrived in his shop for my pick-up. My door installer, who also sells hardware, informed me that I was charged double for what he and other sellers charge for the same items. An internet search of the items confirmed this. I have no problem paying for a surcharge, given I'm supporting a small business, and paying for "knowledge". However, the mark-up I was charged (and I bought a few thousand dollars worth of hardware), is unacceptable. In addition, when I inquired, Jacob quoted me several hundred dollars to install front door hardware, saying it would take a few hours. I looked elsewhere, and had my hardware installed, by a professional, for a fraction of the price (literally), and beautifully done to boot! I called Jacob to speak with him re. being seriously overcharged, and upset with the dishonest pricing. He remained quite defensive the entire conversation, telling me basically that I came to his store, signed the invoice, agreed to the prices, etc. No wiggle room.... Some final points: there is a big "factory delivery charge" added to invoice with each order(?), he wasn't aware of a hardware device for a Dutch door to position top panel as needed (which exists, and I knew of from my installer), and he barely mumbled "sorry" when hinges I ordered came in the wrong finish. Had to make another trip to the shop, to pick up the correct ones. Just know, that if you choose to shop here, be very aware of the prices and mark-up!!

Really cute little shop with a TON of sample hardware to see in person. Lots of brands, Baldwin, Water Street, colonial bronze, Emtek, deltana, omnia and many more. So nice to see the differences in quality and finishes. Jacob was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Dependable lock and hardware is my go to, reliable place for key duplication after going to either Lowe's or Home Depot a few times and hearing each time that the big box places don't have the key template available. Quick. Standard pricing. Efficient. Highly recommend.
