I would like to commend Mikey in the VW parts department for his knowledge, professionalism and most of all his patience. I have had peculiar situations where Mike has pointed out which direction and cost effective means to solve my issues. Truly unusual for a person to step outside is lane to support a customer in need. I'm sold on Boardwalks VW parts department as a knowledgeable caring entity due to Mike's presence. I'm duly impressed......

I always asked myself why I go back every time but it was because it was close. This was the last straw. I never had issues with my low mileage car until I started bringing it here. They can not seem to answer their telephones, clear their voicemail or call to let you know about your car. As a long time VW owner, I would go to the next closest service center instead.

Luis Garcia in sales is enthusiastic, kind, and knowledgeable. When buying a car as a woman I've found many salespeople to be condescending, presumptuous and even old school in their approach, but not Luis. He was straightforward and communicative; it was clear that he did everything he could in order to make the deal work. Call or text Luis Garcia if you are in the market for a VW.

I didn't have a good car buying experience with VW and Amir (the person who will most likely respond to your internet request for quote). I already loathe going into car dealerships because of the salesmanship and mansplaining, but here, I was actually insulted and lied to my face. I tried to keep my cool as I knew my mission, but he insinuated I had ADHD and had trouble focusing on numbers so just focus on what he is telling me .... which was all hand waving and some random numbers and circles scratched on paper... (what?? I work with numbers every day in my actual job, and nothing wrong with ADHD (he did not say these words to my face but he told me he too, had trouble focusing and told me not to worry his dad said he would not amount to anything either... (?)). I was pushing him to give me actual numbers that I could go home and review and he told me he could not. All I got was the chicken scratch on a piece of white paper from him. Further, I realized Amir actually lied to me about inventory to my face (told me no standard options were available on the lot, then he put me in one to test drive and said oh yeah.. didn't realize these were here! But I have thousands of friends texting me every day for inventory it'll be gone in a day). Introduced me to the manager for no reason just to show me he could cut a good deal (?) Epitome of used car salesman, although I was looking for a new car. I ultimately bought from Serramonte VW where the internet salesman was nice (ask for Sho, no pressure and will tell you how the vehicle works as opposed to Amir who barely showcases the car because he's too busy trying to do high pressure sales tactics) and the manager was at least a little better and could show me offers with a full breakdown of key financial terms IN WRITING which Amir REFUSED to do. Showroom wise, it is also pretty barebones and they share space with another car showroom.

Peter O. and Nordine gave me an amazing experience for my first car purchase. From the beginning to end, both men made it clear they were there to help me leave with the car I want, at a price I am happy with. Without any pressure or hassle, that's exactly what happened and I can honestly say my first time experience with purchasing a car has been nothing but amazing! Thank you both again!

Oh what a stupid adventure. I was told by Oscar Gamez that I could pick up my vehicle from the service department as long as I get there before close at 6. I arrived to find the department closed, wouldn't you know they actually close at 4! Thanks wasting my time and money, I can assure you folks this place will leave you upset & disappointed.

Worst customer service experience ever! I've been here twice now in the past month and found both technicians to be unfriendly and not very interested in me or their job. Both times they tried to upsell me for an oil change which I told them I had just done. On the first visit, the technician didn't tell me until the end of the day that they were going to have to order a part and that my car would not be ready until the next day. I had dropped it off at 8 a.m. for what should have been a minor fix (gas tank cover locked shut). He should've notified me much sooner so that I could make arrangements). I took the car in for a different but similar problem a few weeks later (trunk was locked shut) and a different technician first told me the repair was not covered under the warranty and quoted me $1K! When I balked, he said, "oh, let me check." It turns out it was indeed a warranty repair but he made me so mad that I took my car to another VW dealership (Sunnyvale VW) for the repair. The response at Sunnyvale VW was like night and day. They were a pleasure to deal with. It turns out that Boardwalk had mis-diagnosed the issue! So I was smart to take my car elsewhere. I might also mention that Boardwalk VW does not provide any transportation if you have to leave your car for service. The Uber and Lyft drivers I called said most of the other dealerships pay for this. So although my car service was under warranty, I still had to pay for the Lyft car which ended up being about $60. (I am a different Trish M than the other one who Yelped Boardwalk)

By reading the reviews since I've posted, nothing has changed. I know what they are really good at, having internal meetings during business hours. Worst dealer EVER, first ballot hall of fame. Congrats all!

I want to tell everyone what a great experience I had in purchasing a VW Atlas from Boardwalk Volkswagen. My salesperson was Kyle Snell, what a great salesman. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. If you're looking for a new car which I was, hadn't purchased a new vehicle since 1985. It was a new expierence for me.

If you enjoy dealing with a bunch of liars, this is the place for you. They gave offer for the car and then when I returned to sell it, took thousands their WRITTEN quote... nice strategy guys, needless to say, their strategy didn't work plus they gained yet another negative review... Drove away to the next dealership who offered $5K more... Ridiculous waste of time

2017 Golf GTI. Had an EPC and CEL pop up and took it in to have it diagnosed. Now, I'm somewhat knowledgeable about cars, and, with a scan tool, I was able to figure out the issue myself (for those curious, fault code P334A0 -- Charge Pressure Actuator Electrical Error; had root caused it to turbo wastegate linkage binding and potentially an actuator failure). I was worried that the entire turbo had to be replaced (which, it turns out, was the case). I had done a whole lot of research and found that a PZEV warranty (150k MI/15 YR) due to California's emissions laws was applicable for the turbo. Boardwalk was able to order a new turbo and swap the old one out, completely under this warranty (this finding felt like winning the lottery). 7 working days later and car is as good as it was before. Thanks to Oscar for all the help. I'll add here that Boardwalk claimed my battery's state of health wasn't enough to perform diagnostics to send to VW to get the warranty claim. To be completely honest, I don't understand how they couldn't just turn on the car or hook up a battery charger. Anyhow, seemed like there was no other option. I was quoted $250 for the parts and $175 for the labor, which I disagreed with and wanted to do the labor myself (and, yes, I was well aware that there are some coding/adaptations involved -- it's probably a 15 min job if you know what you're doing). There was some confusion/miscommunication on me being able to pick up the car to do the battery myself. I called on the same day I dropped it off and was told I could pick it up; however, when I called back to confirm, I was informed that the car wasn't operable, and I couldn't drive it. Almost seemed like they were trying to make it harder for me to do it myself and instead force me into coughing up the $175 for them to do it. But maybe that's just me. I spoke with the service manager (Joe) and expressed my frustrations who was able to waive the labor, which I appreciated. Besides the battery woes, no other major complaints. Boardwalk was able to complete my warrantied turbo install and made sure it was fully tested before handing it off to me, which I also appreciated.

I had excellent service at Boardwalk Volkswagen. After breaking down on the side of the road, they fit me in immediately and checked-in before moving forward with any needed repairs. They even washed my car before returning it to me! Oscar was friendly and efficient!

I wish I can give them one star. Do not work with this company. I was trying to buy a new car for 84 old mother and it was like pulling teeth to get replies from these people. Tom Sutton in sales and Nordean Felix the manager are both horrible business people and non-responsive. There are plenty of other Volkswagen dealerships on the peninsula. Take your business elsewhere.
