“So I started to notice my ignition wouldn't start normally sometimes - then the sometimes became more frequent. I said its about time to get it checked and fixed. I have a busy schedule and I live in Daly City, but work in Redwood City. So I googled "best autoshop in Redwood City" - and Toral Auto Care was the first one that popped up! I looked at the reviews on yelp and there has been nothing but positive messages about Miguel, the master mechanic at the shop. I took it in before starting my shift at work and I told him he can take his time to work on it, which was a benefit for me because I work in RWC, and told him the issue with my car. Before I got off worked he contacted me and said my car is ready! He said the issue has been solved and it was the Crankshaft Sensor that was the issue. He changed my spark plugs as well as my cabin air filter. He charged me a very fair and good price for the work he did. I will come back to him for my oil change and I am confident in him and his team to do a great job each time his clients chooses them to do their car repairs. Glad to have found you guys! Thank you!”

“Not a good mechanic, a GREAT Mechanic. A Mechanic's Mechanic! He's been a mechanic his entire life, and has a sixth sense when it comes to cars and repairs (He drives a Jaguar V12). And on top of that, he's honest and nice.
Had to replace shocks on my Infiniti G37SC. Dropped the car off, and it was done quickly at a reasonable price.
My Son's G35C's window wouldn't go up. Was fixed the next day...bad motor. Also completed at a very reasonable price.
I've been using Garaffo's Auto Repair for about 20 years.
I drive 40 miles to drop off my car here because he's the best!!

“Really happy I found this shop. Knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. When I took my Subaru into A+ Japanese Auto Repair to get looked at, they charged me $250, kept the car for an entire day, then told me they couldn't figure out why my car was making sounds but that I should schedule a $3k repair. When I called Kuno's, the staff made an educated guess on the phone based on the symptoms I described, explained the reason why it was advisable to repair the car, and offered a $2k repair. Got the repair done and the car now drives better than when we first bought it used ✨.”

“As I wrote several years ago when I reviewed the now-closed Fred's Garage in Redwood City, they are two kinds of auto repair shops. At one extreme, you'll find the ones in the fancy parts of town. They have AC, waxed floors, a waiting area with coffee and pastries, lots of space etc.. These places are usually OK, but expect to pay top dollars for service, since at the end of the day, you're the one paying for all the glitz. D&D, just like Fred's Garage was, is at the other extreme. It's in the industrial part of Redwood City, and you'll find yourself navigating your way from the back of the shop to Danny's desk. But you'll be rewarded with quality service, honest business, and very competitive prices.”

“Alberto is a good mechanic and it is hard to find these days. I had my 2001 Nissan maxima that failed SMOG. I tried many places with different mechanics including Nissan dealer. Dealer says, change catalytic convertor but they cannot order parts anymore, what a waste of time and money. One says, just keep driving, keep drying until LA. Another suggested try OBDII drive cycle. I tried it but no luck. One other mechanic recommended a Catalytic convertor replacement that costs approx $1800. I took it to Albert to see if he can help. Albert did his diagnostic and suggested to try replacing O2 sensor first. I took the chance although i lost lot of money trying to repair so far. Alberto ordered part and had it replaced for about $320(parts&labor). I think he is good at what he does and trustworthy. I highly recommend his auto services.”
“Such an honest and kind mechanic! My car started making a weird noise while I was in the area. I was scared to drive home since I didn’t know what it was. The mechanic at the shop really helped me out and took a look at my car right away even though he was very busy. He said I was having issues with my suspension and would likely need to replace my strut. He made sure it was safe for me to drive home and didn’t even charge me! Would highly recommend this shop!”
