I frequent this store and have always had good experiences. Today when I went in the woman at the register Barbara was very rude. She made a simple mistake on the price of one of the items I had and forgot to apply the 50% off. When I respectfully pointed it out she went on to overcharge a different price. After that I told her I did not need a plastic plastic bag as I try not to use single use plastic to help the environment. She crumbled the bag up and tossed it in the trash. I am disappointed to be treated this way. Me and my mother enjoy thrifting together and this really put a damper on our day. I wasn’t going to say anything but after reading the last review mentioning her I decided to write a review. I hope that something is done so that more people don’t have to be upset by this

I enjoy this store, but have encountered rude clerks on several occasions. A repeat offender is a blond older lady who I'll call B. Today I purchased a picture but when she was going to ring it up she questioned the price. She informed me that she did not think it was the right price so she went to ask in the back how much it cost. When she came back, she told me the incorrect price was put on it. I understand that people make mistakes so I asked if she could bring the price down. She eventually did but she was rude and made me feel like I was stealing. The tags on frames are literally taped on them so I didn't understand why her attitude was necessary. I did inform a different clerk about how rude she had been before I left and to my surprise, she turned out to be a supervisor, which B had denied was in the store and denied to call when I asked her. The supervisor was very nice and I'm grateful that she took the time to listen. The supervisor seemed busy, so I did not tell her about an incident I had with B on a separate occasion. A couple of months ago, I came to this store and as I was leaving, a homeless woman approached me and said she needed a sweater. I told the homeless woman that we could go in the store and I would buy her anything she needed. In the store, the homeless woman grabbed 1 single item and B happened to be at the register. When the homeless woman put her item on the counter, I pulled out my credit card and B said she could just take it. I thought it was nice but at the same time her tone was rude, as if she just wanted the homeless woman out of the store. The homeless woman suddenly said that she also needed a bra, to which B replied that she could only get one thing. I got so irritated at that point and told her that I would pay for it. NO ONE asked her to give the homeless woman anything for free. This clerk is so disrespectful. She can spin and deny everything I've typed here but at the end of the day she really needs to reflect on the kind of person she is.

This place has gone downhill SO bad. I remember this place being one of my favorite thrift stores about 5-6 years ago, and now it's the greediest thrift store filled with rude employees. I picked a few things out for my son and went to go pay. Based on the signage tops were 1.99 and jackets/coats were $5.99. I had two long sleeve tops, Target brand nothing crazy, and when I got to the register Sonya rang them up as jackets/coats?? I asked her why she rang it up as such and she said because one of the tops had a hood it was 5.99? The sign didn't have pricing for sweaters or long sleeves so I should've been given the tops pricing. She proceeded to argue with me and catch an attitude. I fed into it because I had time. She then tells me well I guess you could just go to the mall then huh? Sonya had a shit attitude and quite frankly hates her job and maybe her life too. This SA obviously doesn't do a great job screening their employees based on some of the reviews. Well Sonya, I went down the street to Goodwill and purchased a ton of shirts for my son for $1.99 The same exact price you had listed on your signage but you were trying to overcharge me. Lol. Safe to say I won't be returning. The corporation greed, lack of decent brands and poor customer service, I'd much rather take my business to Goodwill or THE MALL! Haha

My father passed away this year so my mother will be selling her house and moving. We had several items to donate so decided to take them to this location since we have done so SEVERAL times over SEVERAL years. The car in front of us parked near the donation area so we pulled in behind it and parked, too. My mother opened the door to get out and Ben S. began waving his arms over his head and SCREAMING for everyone to park in a spot. We then parked in a spot, got out, and started to get the items from the back of the car. Ben approached me without a word and started to take the bags from me. I then asked, "Do you speak?" because his actions were quite rude up to this point and I don't take kindly to someone approaching me and literally taking things from my hands without so much as a hello. He then proceeded to bark in my face as if he was a dog. I told him he was being rude by screaming at people and not greeting us, and that it's not okay to just take something from someone. He said we were rude and also that we almost crashed into each other. Seriously?!? This guy is a loose cannon and a complete ass. Here we are giving you things for free that you can sell to make a profit and you have this jerk in the parking lot. Not to mention the multiple times we have donated in the past. My elderly mother should not have to walk to the donation area. Every other place allows you to drive up and unload items or at least use a wheeled bin. Needless to say, we will not be donating here again. I really hope Ben gets the help he needs so he doesn't mouth off to the wrong person. Looking at other reviews, this is obviously not the first time he has acted this way. I'm sure there are plenty of civilized people that would be happy to have his job.

This Salvation Army store on Artesia Blvd in Redondo Beach, is NOT the closest one to where I live in Santa Monica- but I go out of my way for 2 main reasons: and drive 45 min each way, Here's why:1) This store is always so neatly and beautifully organized, that it's a sincere joy to find gems from fashion accessories to decorative items that I have purchased for myself and for gift giving, saving me $ and knowing that all of my money spent is going to an amazing worthy cause.2) The cashier- especially Sonya the cashier, is the most helpful, courteous, efficient and this young lady always renders great customer service with a genuine smile. This is reason enough to visit this Salvation Army store on Artesia Blvd.My kudos to the mgr- please accept my genuine thanks for a great job! After all, I am in the travel industry- and customer service is the heartbeat of what I sell.:-)

Worst place to donate items. Been here multiple times with NWT, unopened, and high quality items. Each time we are turned away by unfriendly staff who become picky and tell us to take back pieces they don't want. These are donations for goodness sake! Take your donations one block west on the same street to Goodwill where the staff is kind and helpful. And they appreciate all donations. We won't waste our time at the Salvation Army anymore.

I have been here 3 times once to donate furniture and other pricey items. 2 other times to shop. The manager is really sweet but I have only experienced very rude cashiers here which totally ruins the experience and a crazy guy working in the back receiving donations that makes me never want to come back to this place. There is a goodwill 2 doors West you might as well just donate there.

Donated some Aloha print shirts and old jeans after organizing some drawers. Drop off donation process was very easy and the gentleman accepting the donation was friendly and informative. He will provide receipts if needed. All in all I just didn't want to throw the garments away and thought someone can use them. The Salvation Army is a good organization and can use the support.

The dressing rooms are still closed, and all sales are final. So that's kind of a bummer. But some good deals to be found! Also, I really didn't want to take a chance on $10 jeans so I just went for it and put them on over my leggings and used a mirror for sale at the back to evaluate. Tried on two pairs of shorts and a romper this way as well. Gotta do what you gotta do!

Extremely rude staff threatening to give me a ticket because they "have cameras" if I left my donations with them without waiting for a receipt.
