“Wow, I am amazed that Trader Joe's has the knowledge to source such esoteric snacks such as Egg waffles, also known as Bubble waffle, which comes from Hong Kong. It means TJ is acclimatizing to the west coast area's consumer tastes, as well as understanding that more and more Americans are traveling to foreign countries and may have a taste for exotic food. I remember eating this when I traveled there in 2016 for the first time in my life. It is like a crispy fried mochi pancake that has a wonderful chew. The product from TJ tastes just like it! Definitely try it out before it goes away (limited time only)! Also equally amazing is their individually packaged matcha - "Matcha Green Tea Powder" for $8. I lived in Japan for several years, and the matcha from TJ is very authentic, high quality matcha JUST like the ones in Japan. Other American brand's matcha (such as Republic of Tea) is nowhere near the same quality. I am also Korean, and can vouch for their Korean Galbi and Gimbap as authentic (not Americanized) flavors. Good job TJ, for sourcing authentic flavored food products!”

“I was looking for a new & and rare thickener to make creamier
ice cream in the Ninja Creami
and large curd cottage cheese.
No luck! Cashier encouraged me to ask the Manager. He checked didn't stock it and wanted to know how to use it.
He was very interested. I'm
an adventurous cook so I went
back & got Coconut Wraps &
Coconut milk. I've used the
wraps already. They're great
but get your toppings out first
'cause the wrap can get dry and
brittle. Then I wrapped it with a
paper towel to keep it together. Sorry no picture I ate it. Didn't
expect to review. The Staff were
great. Highly recommended!”

“You get what you pay for here. The service is quite nice. The food selection isn't the highest quality but remember it's smart and final. The lady with the the glasses who works the front registers sometimes at night is always super sweet and kind! Haven't had a bad experience here yet. The prices are economical and the selection is solid enough to do regular grocery shopping here”

“One Yelper on this review page noted that 'it actually takes a lot for most people to leave a review on a market' and I completely agree! I am writing this as a way to express my gratitude and honestly praise Hilary that was on the night shift last night, 8/13/2023. I came to this store to get some much needed items along with some fresh produce to cook a soup dinner last night. I found just about everything I needed and my cart was stocked! I love Smart & Final's pricing because they have products in bulk that's needed. My favorite are their sandwich bags, probably the best deal you'll get because I use those bags to store cut up veggies/fruits/ etc. It lasts me over a year but when I'm empty I make it a point to go to Smart & Final to get their sandwich bags. Anywho, back to my trip last night. I was looking for roasted peanuts still in their shell. There was a kind woman ahead of me in line, I left the line to try to look one more time for those peanuts because I wanted to bring home some good snacks for my boyfriend. I didn't find them and came back. I asked the check out clerk if they carried such peanuts and she gave me clear directions on where to go to find them, as I was leaving, the kind customer said she would load my cart for me! I was stunned, I thanked her immensely but let her know that was not necessary, I let her know I could unload it and run over to look for the peanuts! She insisted and I was in awe at the kindness of this customer who had already paid her for groceries and could have taken that time to leave but spent it helping me unload my cart. I found the peanuts and came back. The clerk ID'd me because I had a bottle of Line 39. She remarked and asked about my Hawaiian looks and I also had a Hawaii '86 shirt on. Her name she disclosed was Hilary and was such a pleasant person to interact with. I feel like she might have been management because the store was clean, when I came in to the store I saw her with a mop/cleaning bucket and I said hello to her. She asked her colleague who was a younger gentleman to collect all the carts and even stated she would assist him. If she is not in management she most definitely should be! I got a sense that she knows how to take care of a massive store and also be so incredibly pleasant to interact with. This review was to share that my experience at this Smart & Final was an unforgettable one and it was thanks to the kindness and amazing customer service from your employee Hilary! I look forward to coming back there more often now!”

“I was on my way to drop my kids off at school when I made a stop at a liquor store. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert, the employee who manages the store, and I must say he is truly exceptional. He is not only a very pleasant person to interact with but also exceptionally respectful and always ready to assist. It reminds me of the importance of supporting small local businesses like this one.”

“I was schlepping around searching for some last-minute Chanukkah/Hanukkah items. I looked everywhere. I finally called this modestly sized Vons and spoke with Jackie, who was honest, and surprised that they did not have more to offer. After speaking with this blessing of a being, however, I had to meet her, so I made the trek from far North (Redondo) to far South (Redondo), to prove that such a mensch (good person) existed. We did find a box of Chanukkah candles, thanks to her help, but the real gift of that second night of Hanukkah was Jackie. Her store knowledge and positive and helpful attitude made all the difference. She turned my frown upside down. So Sweet Holidays to all, Merry Christmas, Jackie, and a happy new year!”

“You won't get a lot of conversation from the staff, but a clean, well stocked liquor store. No diet soda except for coke. Parking is wonky as it shares lot with Dollar store. Slow down well before the driveway or you'll miss it.”

“Almost 5 stars! Really great food, but limited options in terms of meats. Occupies a corner of the liquor store, cash only, and no seating. Overall a great meal. The rice and beans were yummmmmy and comforting. That's a big deal for me. The tacos didn't have enough onion/cilantro, but I think the salsa made up for it. I loved how juicy the meat was, and it was also a lot more tender than I usually expect for carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada could have used some more seasoning or grilling flavor. Again, the salsa made up for it. In the end I was really impressed and would be glad to come here again.”

“Bakery quality of product (birthday cake) and customer service throughout the store is excellent. Design of a halfsheet cake was exactly what our daughter wanted and the kids were going back for multiple slices of cake while the parents wished they had ordered a bigger cake! Have used them multiple times and if they are not at the bakery the manager will walk you over to fill out forms or get your cake to you - after you pay for it - of course! Well done Vons - would defiinitely get my next cake at your fine store on Inglewood and Marine!”

“Summer in the '80's was awesome. Daily beach visits complete with boogie boards, giant beach towels, Panama Jack Dark Tanning Oil and a Little Playmate filled with diet Coke and ice. If we didn't lunch at The Shack for a famous Shack burger, we'd procure snacks at the nearby fully equipped liquor store which in our opinion was a dream store filled with all the important snack items one would need for a successful day at the beach. By snacks I mean a tub of sour cream, Lipton onion soup and a big bag (or two) of Ruffles potato chips so we could make onion dip right on the sand. To this day none of us have any idea why we didn't prepare it all at home...even more perplexing was the fact we never had an implement to mix the sour cream and soup mix together. Thank goodness for my dual purpose hairbrush, in a pinch the handle was a perfect stirrer. Chalk that one up to whack-a-doodle young people.Variety. This is what I love about national grocery stores. Sure you pay a little more but have you seen the prices at those Organi-bland-veg-alterna-plant markets? They give a whole new meaning to "whole paycheck".Whether you need Frosted Flakes or European butter, diet Coke or milk alternative, produce in all colors of the rainbow or candies to satisfy your sweet tooth or liquor to stock a bar for an epic party you can usually find what you need and want at stores like Vons. For some reason it was June 20th then all of a sudden it was July 4th and dagnabbit I dropped the ball at prepping for the weekend barbecue. Too late (too lazy) to get in gear for potato and macaroni salads, ribs or anything close to a blueberry or apple cobbler. Nope instead I popped on over to Vons for deli prepared salads of macaroni and potato and all the fixins for gourmet burgers and Piña Coladas. I doctored up the potato salad with tarragon, sour cream and scallions and added red onion, cheddar cheese and orange bell pepper to the macaroni salad and just like that I had semi-homemade salads faster then you can say prestidigitation!Hand formed patties for bbq bacon cheddar burgers complete with fresh produce of green leaf lettuce, heirloom tomato, avocado and beer battered onion rings as a garnish or slap 'em on the burger for an extraordinary burger that would have cost you 25 bucks at any of those trendy burger joints.Piña coladas served throughout the day made July 4th a success...all thanks to Vons. So glad you're in the neighborhood. Keep doing what you do.”
