I recently went into Redding Sports Ltd on a research mission prior to purchasing a new backpack for long section hikes or shorter thru hikes. I had a secondary goal of finding my mother a smaller weekend-type pack. We are both experienced backpackers, but for various reasons, we've been out of the game for several years, so it's time to upgade our gear. I received truly outstanding customer service from someone who was very knowledgeable about each pack, both the companies that made them and the individual models. The gentleman helping me fit several packs to me with my specificied carrying weight. He was efficient in adjusting packs and patient with my questions.
I did not buy a pack from him that day but only because there are a couple models I still want to try that Sports Ltd simply could not carry before I pull the metaphorical trigger as I am not one who can spend a few hundred dollars easily. That said, I have a number of backpacking supply purchases in my future, from big things, like an InReach Mini to smaller things, like cookware, and I will definitely be giving as much business as possible to this great local retailer. I strongly suspect I'll be returning to buy that pack as well.
I highly recommend Sports Ltd for their product knowledge and outstanding service. We need places like this in Redding! To the gentleman who took so much time with me and my mom, thank you!

Friendly staff with good recommendations on the best gear. Picked out a pair of Topo hiking boots for the upcoming hiking season. Sport's LTD has the best selection of quality gear around.

Beware of this business; the owner is dishonest and willing to lie to justify his despicable behavior.
Went to buy a bike for my daughter, a specialized 20” for $600, not a cheap bike. We wanted to test fit and the owner Curtis acted like we were an inconvenience. He even made a rude comment to my daughter, and I was in such disbelief I had to ask if he was joking, and he didn’t respond. I let it go, because we really wanted the bike. During the purchase process he made another rude comment after whispering a side comment to his employee. I walked out and decided to order the bike from the website or elsewhere… anywhere but here
In reply to the response: Beware to anyone patronizing this business; the owner is dishonest and willing to lie to justify his despicable attitude. Apparently Curtis was angry that we asked to lower the bike seat, so he felt inclined to make a rude comment directed at my 5 year old daughter after she said “yeah!” as we requested to lower the seat on the bike. Curtis then stood by as my daughter rode the bike 20 feet in the store, and said nothing. Apparently that’s why he was so angry and rude toward us? He claimed to “look at the security footage” and claimed my daughter ran into his foot, that’s what justified his rudeness? Does that sound plausible? We came to buy a bike, and Curtis felt inconvenienced by our presence, so he chose to be rude and make rude comments towards a 5 year old.

I recently bought a cheap used mountain bike from Facebook marketplace so I took it here for a tune up. The staff was straightforward and very kind. They made sure that I was aware of the price ranger before they took action (too expensive) and discussed alternate options with me (in and outside of their shop). It is very apparent their staff are very knowledgeable.
I will be returning to this store. It was wonderful customer service and I appreciate the things they do to support the local community.

Came at 2:30 to rent a snowboard. They said I couldn't until 3 and there would be a huge line at 3. Nobody anywhere in the store still wouldn't rent to me. They were totally rude. Said I could rent 2 days or wait in line. Again no one anywhere. Said I couldn't even start the process. Charged me for 2 days for 30 minutes. Then didn't tell me helmets were extra. Never again. Hermits Hut it is from here on out.

I love stopping in here anytime I’m in Redding. They carry an array of brands and gear. They hooked us up with all of our snowboard gear head to toe! Great prices and discounts, too! Very knowledgeable staff!
