Wow. Placed an 11 item pick up order for 5 pm. Received an email at 4:50 pm my order is delayed. Ok. I call the store at 5:30 for an update and the associate tells me they are running behind but it looks like my order is being shopped now and will be ready shortly. Great. 6:30 rolls around no update. I call customer service and they said all they can do is request a cancellation and my refund will go through within 3-5 business days. You’re kidding. I call the store and speak with a manager. She apologizes and calls the representative to see what the status is. She responds she’s just finishing up and has 4 items to shop. So I was lied to when I called at 5:30. I told the manager look I don’t live nearby please just stop shopping my order and I’ll move on. Then I get a text from the representative at 7:39 pm wondering if she needs to still shop my order because she doesn’t want to waste her time. HA I can say with confidence this was my worst experience with a grocery store.

It’s about what you expect for a store in the area. Most of the staff is diligent about theft and the homeless. However, there is one employee in particular that EVERY counter I’ve had with her is disappointing. She’s blatantly rude and makes it pretty apparent that she doesn’t want to be there. I go often and avoid her check out stand when possible. But nights like tonight when she’s the only lane open and is as rude as she was makes me really frustrated.

Ran in to pick up an online ordered meat & cheese tray at a little after 10am on Sat 6/22. Grabbed a couple small beverage items and headed to deli counter. There was one woman customer waiting as a deli employee sliced some meat for her. (Deli employee was an older looking woman with long gray hair). This was my first time picking up a pre ordered & prepaid party tray so I wasn’t completely sure of procedure. I looked around deli area and there were no employees other than the one slicing meat. I politely asked “excuse me I just have a quick question please” and the employee turned and yelled at me “I’m with a customer. Ask someone else!” I was startled and looked at the customer who looked as surprised as me. I told the customer I’m sorry I just wanted to ask her if I should go pay for these beverages at a checkout stand and come back for party tray. The customer said You’re fine. I then looked back at the employee and asked is there someone else I can ask and she ignored me. Eventually a couple employees came from store area into deli and I asked them my question. They nicely directed me to the checkout stands and said that is also where my party platter would be brought to me. I am all about quality customer service. I always insisted that my employees focus on their customer and not get distracted with side co worker conversations, their phones, etc but there is no excuse for that woman to yell at me when she could have responded in a polite & professional manner. Maybe she hates her job but that’s no excuse. Maybe she’s dealing with some difficulties in her life which if the case I feel for her but she needs to do what’s necessary to keep her anger better controlled and to behave in a more customer friendly manner. The woman at the checkout stand was very pleasant and helpful in getting the party tray to me. She helped keep my morning from being ruined by the deli woman’s ugly behavior. I’m not sure I want to visit that deli again. I did try to use Safeway Chat to report this rather than doing review but couldn’t get it to work.

Horrible customer service, I get it you’re at work, but when someone asks you how the morning is going and you just shake your head the racism shows. Jake was great though he should be a manager not the skinhead looking dude.

My fiance met a very rude racist lady behind the deli counter yesterday evening. She wouldn't take my order from him because he's black. Great face of the company you have here!
