Where can I even begin? I have been absolutely blown away by Align Pain Management and by the way Matthew and Jaylee run this gym. This has been an incredible and truly a life-changing experience for me thus far. Their holistic approach to health has been so refreshing and literally healing to my body. My experience with chiropractors and physical therapists over the years has been that they simply put a metaphorical Band-Aid over your area of pain instead of actually dealing with the root issues. So I've experienced some momentary relief from pain but it never lasts. Jaylee and Matthew do things differently at Align and they look at your entire body and nervous system to see where the root issues are coming from and they work holistically to create a new foundation in which you can build upon. I have noticed a tangible difference in my pain levels since going to Align. I have had chronic back pain for several years due to a back injury and within several short months of attending Align, I am seeing actual results. I used to not be able to fly on a plane for very long without experiencing extreme back pain and needing to use a lumbar pillow to support my back. I recently took several different flights from the West Coast to the East Coast and it didn't dawn on me until later that I never once even had to pull my lumbar pillow out of my backpack and didn't have any back pain at all. *insert crying emoji* I am so incredibly grateful and thankful for Align and for Jaylee and Matthew! Not only is their holistic approach to health changing so many peoples lives for the better, but also who they are as people has a lasting impact as well. You can tell that to them this is not just a business, but that they actually care about people being the best and healthiest versions of themselves and thriving. The environment at Align is filled with so much hope, joy, and love. I am so grateful. Thank you, Align! And thank you, Jaylee and Matthew!

I love love love this gym!! I wanted to start going to help with my posture after working at a desk all day. I was someone who wasn't a stranger to gym environments but never felt totally sure what exercises to do. Jaylee guided me through a very non-intimidating introduction to movements, allowing me toreally started gaining confidence and strength. I always felt like the coaches were extremely knowledgeable and were excellent at advancing me in my training with great consideration for my body and strength levels. They helped me reach goals I never thought I was capable of!!! The small groups also make working out fun and helped me with accountability which I desperately needed when it came to working out. I'd recommend this gym full heartedly to anyone of any age wanting to get healthy and strong in a safe, encouraging and fun environment.

Coach Andrea was awesome during my 6 months. She went above and beyond to bring greater mobility and strength to my shoulder. I love how Align offers online options, and Coach Jaylee was nominated by her clients and community members as best trainer in 2023. The staff genuinely care for the whole person health of their clientele. I highly recommend Align especially if pain or injury is hindering doing what you love!

Align has the potential to give decent training depending on which trainer you get but their lack of consideration for their employees leads to high turnover. I personally know multiple previous employees including myself who left because of the way they were treated, including bullying, harassment and lying to us. If you want to know a bit about the character of the owner, Matthew: he broke the rules he himself wrote for employees and started dating his own hire Jaylee when she was fresh out of college and he was still married with a new baby. He also had various trainers cover his classes for him over 100 times in the couple years we were there. Additionally, when quarantine started he promised an employee he had told investors was the only reason Align was still open that they would be the last to be let go if it ever came to that - only to close that entire location the next day and let that employee go with no other warning. That's the tip of the iceberg but I'm trying to keep this somewhat brief. I'm posting this review after not having worked there for a few years specifically because I've heard that Align scrubs their reviews and has deleted well-earned negative reviews from past employees multiple times.

The best Gym in town! Professional and clean atmosphere! It is hard to find a place like this around where you can rehab and have professional assistances.

Staff are incredible, very knowledgeable, and supportive. They were able to get me evaluated and on the program quickly. Coach Andrea continues to answer my questions, gives modifications to movements, and very engaged/ encouraging. I am feeling very hopeful to get back to doing what I love through the support of Align. Also, it’s very affordable and cost efficient when you consider other Physical therapists and gyms prices.

As a physical therapist in Redding I’ve worked with multiple clients that have given raving reviews of Align. After seeing their system myself in think this is a great option for clients dealing with chronic pain in its nuance and complexity. Our world needs more places that take a compressive look at recovery and rehab. Good job Align!

I had been dealing with occasional back tension and various places of pain in my knees and neck as well. Working with the Align program and team not only helped me strengthen and get out of pain but it also gave me tools to take with me beyond my time at their gym. Highly recommend!

Align Gym literally blew me away. This place is the middle ground btw physical therapists, doctors and surgeons, and is powered by people who have been at the mercy of all three. If you’re in chronic pain these guys have the experience and the grit to help you cut a path of escape that ends in legitimate healing. The range of knowledge, expertise and compassion I’ve experience from their team has been astronomical! They exceeded my expectations completely.

I'm a 76 yr old woman who has engaged in a lifetime of exercising, including various types of dance. Over the past 30 yrs I've struggled with lower back spasms that were debilitating and interfered with my ability to travel with confidence. I participated in physical therapy at various times and found it helpful, but I never went away with a whole-body exercise program that prevented the return of the issue.Because I found that I was unable to solve the issue on my own I decided to have a free consultation with an Align Studio coach to discuss my issue and possible causes. At the time of the interview I was of the opinion that lack of strength was not my problem because I was physically strong in a number of ways. During the consult it was pointed out to me that lack of strength was indeed my issue, that I had been strengthening incorrect muscles for a strong and comfortable low back experience.Consequently, I signed up to work with a coach and have been happily and successfully participating in the Align method for nearly six months. I am developing strength in all the correct ways now, and the quality of my daily body mechanics is steadily improving after decades of mis-use and misalignment.I HIGHLY recommend Align Studios and its knowledgeable, responsive, fun and friendly coaches for anyone wishing to learn about body mechanics, their roll in generating a comfortable body experience, and exercise methods to develop the body in sustaining ways that lead to freedom from pain and diminished function.

I have been a member of Align Redding pretty much since the beginning. I worked with Matthew my first couple years and it honestly changed my life. I was experiencing chronic back pain daily. I was just turning 30 and felt like I was operating as an old lady. I was so over being in pain and I needed the support of this gym to get my life back. This gym is an investment in your Health but I can promise you it is worth it. I have always been active and been part of different gym environments but it wasn't until I found Align that I realized I was doing everything wrong. I was more focused on losing weight and building muscle and I did not realize there is a certain way to go about getting that result. I had to start rebuilding my body starting with the basics and get my posture in line to then move on to strength training. Learning how my body operates has been key to keeping me pain-free for all of these years. All the trainers are experienced and extremely helpful. This place has literally changed how my body operates and I am extremely grateful for the team at Align.

I give this 5 star review wholeheartedly for a number of reasons: - the training (evaluation and instruction) - the relationship (coaching conversations) - customer centric (while they MUST charge a fee for their membership, I don't feel like I'm just a number or a paycheck to them... They're sincere in serving me) My story: I have prior injuries: severe soft tissue injuries (strain) to my bicep tendons, cervical spine, and lumbar spine. Also lifelong pain in right hip flexor. Scoliosis. Thoracic spine stiffness and pain. And difficulty supporting my own breathing. Cumulatively, I've worked with 5 different physical therapists for a total of 10 months (broken into 2-4 month intervals) for different injuries between 2016 and 2019. None of those experiences really "put me back together." After all of this, I eventually joined Align via their remote coaching membership option. Started in January 2021 and have continued to now, December 2021. When I started, I told my coach "I feel fragile." And I did. I felt weak, imbalanced, had constant pain and felt insecure doing many normal activities, like lifting something overhead to put on top of the fridge. I had pain with walking. And I was only 36. But after years of sedentary jobs, sedentary schooling, and significant injuries at part time jobs during school, my previously athletic self now felt frail and weak. I was devastated. But I had seen the educational material that Align publishes for free on their social media. And something in me knew... If anyone could help me, it was them. So I started. And it has been hard work. I learned quickly that my coach can encourage me and teach me, but ultimately I'm the one who has to do the work. And within several months of following the program and working with my coach, I found I was making more progress than I ever did with the physical therapists. Who are DOCTORS...! I felt stronger and more stable through my whole body than I had in the last 15 years. 15 years! I was hooked by that point. The intrinsic reward of stable joints, feeling enormously more capable, enjoying the aesthetic changes, and also the new found self respect... And the pain was decreasing. Align has been giving me the tools and support I need to build this aspect of my life. They are respectful, honest, encouraging, and ridiculously intelligent. I've been a client for nearly 12 months and hope to continue training with them for years to come. What I'm saying is, if you feel weak or in pain, you should call them. Be ready to work. And yes, if you're doing it remotely, you may need to buy some equipment but so far the recommended equipment has added up to like $120 for me and that is very doable. Uneducated trainers are frankly dangerous and can lead you to injury (happened to me in 2012 at an gym in Washington state... While she was watching!). Don't be fooled by their "less expensive" so called "services.". If you are already in pain or feel unstable in your joints, then what you need is a really intelligent trainer who will help you get better, not expose you to further risk for injuries. Which is why I recommend Align. Sorry this is so long, but I'm a words person...!!! Take it or leave it, this is my experience. - Michelle M

Matthew's ability to work with people in pain, pinpoint problem areas and mitigate the pain is second to none. I came to him with tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and lower back and neck pain, and after just one session the pain level dropped. I work with Align remotely now that I have moved out of the area. While I miss the face-to-face interaction and small group connection of being physically present, working with Align remotely is a stellar option - valuable and effective!

I am a true testament of how Align has saved my life. I could barely walk when i first got there. Matthew Lister, my trainer worked with me and taught me so many different techniques that I used to get my body in shape and be able to be mobile again. Let alone lose 100 lbs along the way. We started out slow and then I was able to work harder each week and before I knew it i was lifting weights, rowing 3000 plus meters He gave me my life back from so many numerous surgeries and diets I had been on. I can’t recommend Align enough to anyone that has struggles with back pain, leg pain, any pain that someone suffers from. There are several trainers there besides Matthew that are very qualified to show anyone the way to a healthy life. Thank you Align for all you have done for me and so many other people
