Kevin Caylor - All Pets Veterinary Hospital
28326 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos VerdesI have taken 3 generations of pets to Dr.Evans at All Pets Veterinary Hospital. Infact I started using All Pets when Dr. Robert Moore owned All Pets in the mid-'80's! I really got a great feeling from Dr. Moore as I did from his assistant , Dr. Evans. That's why I decided to stay on when Dr. Moore sold his smallish practice to Dr. Lisanne Evans. By then my two rescued cats, both American short hair, were just beginning their lives 3,000 miles away from home in Brooklyn Heights. Eros, the older of the two was a 20lb.marmalade colored cat and his younger brother, Plato a light beige short hair, were both around 10-9 yrs old. Eros the easier of the two had developed diabetes which required getting his ketones by peeing on a stick 2x's a day. A little later on Plato developed kidney problems and had to get fluids twice a day by sticking him with a fairly large needle 1-2x's a weekly. This require a lot of education which All Pets certainly gave us and some handholding from Dr. Evans and her staff. Both cats lived to be over 20 yrs. old. Not in s part due to the great care we all received at All Pets. Our second generation that All Pets cared for was my very first dog!! Chelsea was a funny, soulful and strong willed Puggle. Chelsea was smart as a whip. Loved when we entertained, very social and together we explored the hills of Palos Verdes. When Chelsea turned 8 she was diagnosed with a life threatening blood disease. Dr. Evans tried everything she could think to do. We found a wholistic veterinary online who had some experience with this disease. Dr. Evans encouraged us prop follow up with this wholistic treatment which cured Chelsea of life threatening anemia. We had our Chelsea with use until she was 13 yrs. old. It was hard to let Chelsea go. I held her in my arms as she took her last breath. We all cried including Dr. Evans. 6 yrs ago we adopted Buddy from the Harbor Rescue Center. Buddy is as much my savior as I am his. I had just received a jolting diagnosis myself and could no longer explore outdoors as Chelsea and I did. Buddy doesn't require long up hill walks. He is a more of a lap dog and is content to be with me around the house! He is my Buddy!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Tomatillo Mexican Grill
31218 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos VerdesBetter than Terranea! We were staying there and the food was pricy and looked “fine.” We drove 5 minutes to Tomatillo and had absolutely outstanding breakfast and service. Spicy red chilaquiles and huevos a la Mexicana. We’re coming back!

Palos Verdes Art Center
5504 Crestridge Rd, Rancho Palos VerdesI cool spot to stopby if you're around the area. Totally free to come in and they don't even pester you for donations. I enjoyed the art and learned a bit of history from some of the places in Palos Verdes. It's pretty small but can't complain since it's free. Plenty of parking outside and it was pretty empty when I came on Saturday. Will probably spend about 10-15 minutes.

Yellow Vase
31248 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos VerdesIn A Nutshell: -This Yellow Vase location has a million dollar view! -It's the perfect spot to grab a quick bite to eat especially if you are on a bike ride. -The location is right off the highway. -There is indoor/outdoor seating. -I enjoyed their Chicken Curry Sandwich. Overall, I liked the taste of my sandwich while enjoying the view.

Sea Beans
100 Terranea Way, Rancho Palos VerdesIf you're not a big breakfast person, I would go to sea beans. I'm wary of unsanitary hotel room coffee makers and prefer iced coffee to hot. The iced espresso drinks and pastries are good, and I also liked the Terranea homemade granola bar. The service is quick, although it takes longer on weekends or days when a lot of people are checking out. There are ice water dispensers, which are great when it's hot, and this seemed to be one of the few places where you can pay in cash and get change.

Asaka
31208 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos VerdesThe good: There aren't a lot of food options this far by the water so this is a great addition to this plaza. They have an indoor and outdoor seating area. The outdoor space has heat lamps. I tried the seared beef roll, crunchy roll, and few other rolls (cannot recall the name unfortunately). They have an indoor and outdoor dining area. The outdoor dining area looks out to the ocean (with a road in between). The rolls were beautifully presented. The prices were fair. There was plenty of parking. They had lots of booth-style seating. They have a sushi bar area and classic Japanese decor. The seared flavor on the beef roll was great. The prices were fair and expected. The bad: The hours are a little narrow (11:30-8:30). Something about the interior of the restaurant felt less homey and inviting. The interesting: They have lots of udon options as well as interesting less Japanese menu items like Cajun edamame and mille crepe cake.

Starbucks
Golden Cove Shopping Center, 31202 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos VerdesWhen the sun has burned off the fog it is quite spectacular views of the ocean from the outside patio except when the big MTS bus blocks it. Great to take some hot coffee and take a walk near the cliffs nearby the outlet.

Swan Thai RPV
31206 Palos Verdes Dr W W, Rancho Palos VerdesBeautiful place over looking the ocean. Amazing food and even better service. Ordered vegan versions of Tom Yum, Fried Rice, Panang Curry, and Pad thai. The taste of their delicious panang curry still lingers in my mouth. The portions are decent. the quality and the taste was top notch. The restaurant offers an amazing view of the ocean, great for any time of the day, but having dinner watching the sunset, having good food and a great company is just chef’s kiss. Definitely one of my favourite thai restaurants. Worth the visit.
