When the doors are unlocked this is a fairly decent post office. They offer a good amount of self service options from mailing letters to buying stamps. They have PO boxes inside and after hour mail boxes outside in the parking lot. I will say when I've had to wait in line they were really slow so don't stop by on a lunch break. Also, beware during busy times as the parking lot has alot of people that just blackout without looking!

This location has a major problem with the post office boxes out in the parking lot fr people to use. I personally had incidents with these boxes. It appears someone washed out checks and made them out to themselves. This process allowed them to steal money from my account and it also leaves bills that I thought were paid unpaid. So I understand this happens at boxes. But when I waited in line at the RM Post Office to let them know, they just said "yeah, we know." Just walk your mail into the branch. (Apparently others have had the same issues.) That's great except this location has pretty short hours after which they close up because "homeless people are using the building as a place to sleep and as a public restroom." It felt so empathetic and there was no interest in fixing the problem, moving the boxes, using cameras or anything. It was kind of a "sucks to be you" feeling I walked away with. Also, the mail at this location seems to take longer to receive than other post offices so if you are sending something time sensitive, you're better off going to the Palm Desert Post Office.

The only post office that locks the doors for after hours drop off. It is really inconvenient.

Honestly wondering if I'm fangirling over here...I've bragged about Patty & waxed poetic about my first Desert friend, L... but oh my Oprah:Candice just gave me a full photoshoot for my passport - she made me look & feel like a totally functioning adult - and CUTE!She didn't need to take the time. She didn't need to laugh & kibbitz with me - but she did.I mean, she's a doll & helpful, knowledgeable & SO KIND - but Candice is also a top shelf human. Thanks for being you & making my day!

No stamps in the machine and the two clerks didn’t care if 5 people were waiting in line for 20 minutes.

Passport services: DO NOT RECOMMEND. They clearly have staffing issues. After two failed attempts at renewing my Passport I am moving on to another office. They failed to communicate that the appointment was cancelled until I arrived.

This post office needs help! It is terribly understaffed with employees, that appear to hate their jobs. Honestly, it can not be an easy job. Every time you send a package, they must recite the " is there anything potentially hazardous, liquid or perishable....", makes the customers crazy and no doubt the employee. Cameras on them 24/7 with apparent stress on their faces. The lines are always SO long and slow, since Covid hit in 2020. Prior to this it was much faster and efficient with happy employees. Often there is one person at the counter with 10+ customers in line staring at them. Hope they can regroup, hire more and take the stress off the few that are still working.

Waited 10 mins. Nota single person appeared!! 5 people waiting in line! If I did my job like this I'd be fired! The sooner they privatized the post office the better!!

Mia Limon has been our postman (woman) since we moved to Rancho Mirage in 2017! She goes out of her way to help the disabled and elderly people in Rancho Las Palmas across from the Rancho Mirage Post Office. As a highly honored former school administrator, I appreciate hard working employees.Mia Limon goes above and beyond her duties! She is so deserving of an award! I just wished I knew who to contact! She is always aware and ready to help the elderly in need of help, pretty much in a retirement community! Many single, elderly people here.Mia should get a commendation for keeping an eye on those elderly who are alone and vulnerable! She is a young mother raising kids, but just a gem for the old people in the Rancho Las Palmas Resort!

Really great staff! They are so friendly and do their best to move quickly and efficiently. I’ve been here on several occasions and I’ve always had a great experience.

I went there after work to drop off some mail. The doors were locked as it was late. Okay, no problem, I wouldn’t want someone sleeping in there overnight either. What I could not fathom on any level was the lack of any mail box outside for walk up or… wait for it drive by so you don’t even have to get out of the car. D*****

I have been visiting this post office daily for 8 years. The Rancho Mirage location is currently very understaffed. Lionel (I think that is his name) is the only USPS employee at the counter at the moment. For months now there has been large back up in the lobby with customers in line trying to receive service. NO Fault of Lionel's. Hello- USPS you need to hire more employees at Rancho Mirage location. Being understaffed is NOT fair the to the customers or the poor man behind the counter that is dealing with having to service the public solo. Please hire more staff...and I personally think Lionel deserves more vacation time for the abuse you are making him suffer. Shame on you USPS! Unacceptable!
