This a great school for automotive technology the only thing is the price it is too expensive. I graduated 2008 and I still have my loans that I owe on. And we’re in 2020. Even applied for financial aid but that didn’t help. The employment department doesn’t help me find a job neither they just say oh well sorry! This school is definitely not worth it. The students here when I went were a bunch of students straight out of high school. Especially my roommates who were bigger losers. Just to name a few Jesus, Rudy, and that other fat guy. They all thought they were cool with there cars. Well point is it didn’t really help me at the time to be living with roommates because they were not helpful in my accomplishment here at this school. I just went at the wrong time July 2007. These past few years I work in the field and dealt with Snap On brand, Matco tools, and they ripped me off and took advantage of me by overcharging me for tools. Just try to avoid this private school and go to a public school, or college. If you do decide to go here just stick to it, get as much help as you can because you will learn a lot of good information. Get resources from wherever you can get. After you can find a job in the field so be ready. Just don’t do anything extra in the jobs because that’s how I got taken advantage of I was everyone’s helper. After going to this school you don’t need to learn anything else your set to get in the field. Don’t be like me and go to another school to learn more. Okay so what about jobs that I have had that only paid minimum wage to be a lube technician my entire time . Also you know once your in the field it is a complete different story you basically have to work by yourself and many company’s will take advantage of you so be careful. So another thing about the classes are only 3 weeks long. The school is 1 year long for the automotive technology. Then Ford Fact is separated class that cost extra. Definitely not worth it if your poor and have no money to attend. Currently I’am independent contractor I do rideshare, and food deliveries. I haven’t worked in a automotive shop in over 5 years. All the stuff I learned here helped me through out my career but a lot of the stuff I didn’t do like rebuilding transmissions, axles, doing electrical wiring, finding shorts, just basic stuff batteries and oil changes nothing special. But besides talking about my life and background this school wants to bring a bunch of high school graduates fresh out of school to attend here. And I swear they bring the wrong people into this field.

Guys this school is cool and amazing. Everything was the best experience but damn... They tryna to take away all your money, like, can you stop making changes by the payments? This school is awful because of the payments you know. Like one person said you are gonna pay $11,000 and another person said you are gonna pay $20,000, what the... Stop making up lies guys just say the truth about what you gonna pay. I'm sorry but it's the truth, stop saying one thing to another thing.

Don't do it, guys. I worked here as an instructor and let me tell you they don't have your best interests at heart. Community College offers classes with more time to study please search elsewhere for IMT, ROBOTICS, AND WIND TECH.

BUYER BEWARE - VETERANS, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I have never consistently experienced such a lack of respect from the faculty of any organization. I was WRONGFULLY TERMINATED from the diesel program at their Orlando campus for refusing to be the victim of an overly aggressive & extremely disrespectful instructor. This instructor blatantly violated multiple rules within the UTI employee code of conduct. This organization claims to have a zero tolerance policy against this kind of behavior, yet they had an extreme bias in favor of the instructor from the very beginning. This investigation was extremely unfair & despite any form of evidence, they kicked me to the curb. Your education experience here will vary WIDELY from class to class, as each instructor has a different level of compassion. Some of them are good, many of them just simply do not care about teaching. They are just tired mechanics who took a job "teaching" to get out of the Florida heat & into a cushy desk job in an air conditioned building. There is very little accountability within the school's faculty, to the point where the administration will be aware of obvious problems with their employee's, but will refuse to do anything about it. The curriculum is outdated & many of their training aids are over a decade old that have been repainted more times than I have fingers on my hands. Universal Technical Institute relies solely on name recognition to keep their doors open. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Not worth the cost, they expect you to do msat program to actually get into a dealership. Price at other places is about a few thousand... not a darn 40k. Learn more at a mechanic shop than here. Here is more about pieces overall of each which is maybe okay but not career ready. Teachers are a hit or miss, some teach and others don't. Rules are hit or miss. I don't mind but the girl's bathroom is upstairs while guys have 2 downstairs and one upstairs. They show all the cool stuff but nothing really goes for it.

Completely unorganized as a school. Teachers only require 4 years of experience to get a job and they are hurting for teachers. Staff do not treat students like adults. Some teachers stall class to make it take more time than necessary just to let students out early every day anyway. They will fail you if you leave early even if the work is all done. They force you to sit there and do nothing for an hour or more DAILY. If you leave early some teachers will mark you down and some don't (again very unorganized) but if you do this 8 times you fail the course so you can only do it 7 times and still pass with 7 "infractions" to explain to whoever is hiring you for work. The website where supposedly 50% of the learning is done has not functioned properly now for at least 6 months, likely longer I have only been there 6 months. This makes it impossible to track your progress throughout the course so you won't even know if your passing or failing. Covid mandates are still in place for the drinking fountains and there is a cleaning lady taking up the mens bathroom for 1 hour in the middle of class everyday making it hard to use the restroom.Absolutely do not recommend wasting your time here if you have literally any other option.

This school is a disappointment, they make so many false promises and really only care about the money. They really have no interest in your education at all. I came here for one week and decided to quit because first off it's way too expensive and second they had transferred all their teaching to online videos. Those videos were way too long and time consuming as if the students here don't have jobs to pay the debt this school puts them in. Graduating from this school doesn't even guarantee that you are getting a good job in the field because most places are looking for experienced techs. I personally have worked with UTI grads that start the same as techs that have no school background and the majority of them have about the same skill and knowledge as those that didn't attend any type of school other than what they picked up from work. If you really are passionate about the field my suggestion is to avoid this place at all costs and just find a job in the field as a lube tech and work your way up. A lot of dealers provide paid training so you will gain the knowledge regardless. Invest that hard earned money in your tools and you will be a lot happier.

Great school I learned so much there from amazing teachers and great training aids. Unfortunately I had to move back home 2 months before finishing school because of 9-11-01, and certain things. I was able to finish my schooling at Lincoln tech in New Jersey, graduating in top 3 of my class but I owe all that to UTI. Became Master Tech month out of school because I applied myself like a little sponge learning from anyone and everything I could. Great School still keep in contact with one my instructors.

So my time at uti rancho will be up in 6 weeks and while I’ve learned a lot, I’m very disappointed and unhappy with the education I’m getting. I’m in the welding program and was lead to believe there was much more training in multiple welding processes. While other schools will teach you more in less time and for less money. Don’t waste your time like me and find somewhere that’ll benefit you and give you the knowledge you need to start working in your preferred field. I’m looking for jobs as the end is nearing and I don’t meet minimum qualifications for 99%of jobs. the instructors are great and helpful in anyway they can be but anyone else here doesn’t want to do their job and will make up some excuse as to why they can’t help you. P.S: I have straight A’s and perfect attendance I put in the work I stay late.

I don't ever write reviews so if I'm here writing this you know it's a real problem. Don't look at my 1 star review as it should be a 0. Scam scam scam. This school is straight garbage. Don't listen to the 5 star reviews they must've of paid them, listen to the 1 star reviews as those are the real facts. I went to the Long Beach campus and didn't last 2 weeks. I had a buddy of mine that didn't recommend this place and I regret no listening to him because everything he told me was true and I experienced it. This is a trade school it should be hands on. Instead, they have you watch 3 hours of b******* videos a day to try to teach you that way so that they don't have to pay instructor salaries. The in person class is even worse. The instructors who don't teach you a damn thing but waste your time telling life stories. Paying 40k for the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat on in my life for 3 hours. Everybody is standing by then end of the class. All you're really paying for is the campus they built. Nothing here is worth it. Nothing. Don't buy the crap the recruiter is selling. It if too good to be true... it is. I work 10-12 hours a day and was never told that there would be 3 hours of homework a night which are the videos until orientation day. On top of having the 3 hour in person class I would have less than 4 hours of sleep a night. I legit could not do a single thing. Some classes end at midnight. How the hell are you suppose to get enough sleep if you work all morning and afternoon then have to attend certain classes til midnight? Please, please, please listen to all the 1 star reviews and don't put yourself through 40k of debt! I attended 2 weeks and they want me to pay $1300. I have excellent credit and pay every bill and have never missed a payment. I am willing to get my credit ruined instead of paying these clowns one penny. It infuriates me the fact that they take advantage of students and their parents and out them in so much debt and ruin their credit scores for a dying industry. Car will soon be all electric and they don't even teach that. The instructor kept saying how "this will be your life for the next 50 years" you'll be fighting for your life if you stay as a mechanic til then. Instructors talking about how you'll be working 200 hours and make 4K a check? In what world do you work 100 hours a week AND only make 4K? We had instructors saying how you could make 100k a year. Is that right?? My dad is a master technician and has been working for BMW since 1985 and I don't even think he makes that. All they want is your money. They come hunting for you and won't stop so you can sign papers and your life away to make sure they get paid but will not answer you if you have doubts, questions, or help. I seriously hope this place get sued and they get what they have coming to them. I wish I would've have seen these reviews on yelp before I attended. For my Veterans's out there, do not waste your Gi bill at this hellhole. I have a few buddies who came here but they did it straight for the BAH. But listen to me and don't waste all that money here at this dump. I will not ever recommend this place to anyone and will keep writing bad reviews whatever it takes to keep people from coming here. Listen to others and just go to community college and pay 10x less and actually learn stuff and do things hands on. A lot of other students agreed I just happen to run while I still could. I could keep going all day about things wrong at this place but it would make my blood boil. The fact that I have to pay because I dropped the course for a few stupid videos that you're not going to learn anything from because you have to be there doing it with your hands to learn and for wasting my time at the campus to not learn s*** from the instructor. If mommy and daddy are paying for you and you don't have to work I still don't recommend this place. If you're planning on working and coming to this &a

I went here back in 2020 around when covid first started. Let me start off by saying that whatever they "taught" me at this school is not worth what there charging you. They had these 2 week programs where you take each course for only 2 weeks. Sounds good right? No.. you can't learn alot from an engine or even a tire in two weeks. Most of the stuff there "teaching" you, are all online courses and doing your hands on, on campus. The stuff there teaching you online can easily be looked up on YouTube. There very unorganized, there were so many times I've been called up into the office for having to many "missed absences" and not passing my courses. This would litterly happen everytime I start a new course. Towards the end after 3 months I just left cause I don't feel like I got the education I needed for what I was paying. About 90% of the people that I met here, after graduating, don't work at a mechanic field or end up working at a valvoline or jiffy lube which doesn't require to be a certified mechanic. This is all off of my experience and sadly I didn't have a good one here at uti.

Let me start off by saying I am a current student at this school and I wish I threw my 36 grand out of an airplane instead of giving it to this school. First of all their way of "teaching" is absurd. They make you watch videos that are incredibly long, do this online learning and then when you are in school the instructors tell you to do your labs and if you do not know what you are doing they tell you to watch the videos. The rules are ridiculously d*** there, for example, no hats, I wear a hat in my shop every day to protect my hair from getting dirty. The way they do attendance and discipline is out of this world, if you miss a day, even with a doctors note, you are screwed, it brings your average in the class down from a 100 to an 87. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL THERE IS NOT ONE POSITIVE THING ABOUT IT!
