I've had 3 electrical repairs done here. They handled each job expertly. And they weren't walk-in-the-park problems. These guys have become my favorite shop. I don't live close so coordinating dropoff and pickup is a pain. However, they schedule me in and start working on it when they say they will. They get it done in good time, and they handle estimating and billing professionally, communicating with me along the way.On my most recent repair, another shop that I go to regularly who is closer to me could not diagnose or solve a repeatedly failing ignition coil problem in 3 visits. They sent me packing saying its probably the computer and that they couldn't take that one. That didn't seem right to me so I decided it was worth the trek to schedule it with Stringfield's. They got me in with a couple days and had it done the next day - not the computer! Ultimately there was a secondary problem, totally separate damage from the first thing, that didn't show up until the first repair was done and we had picked it up and got a few more miles on it. This would have been an opportunity that other shops might have taken to hit me for another large repair charge but they didn't do that. They squeezed it back in, stayed late, and only charged me what the difference would have been to have done that piece while they were in there before. As someone who also bills people for their time doing other technical troubleshooting kind of work, I know it's hard to please everyone. Also, at least for me, they are doing the kinds of jobs that you can't just quote "by the book" like a simple component replacement. They're sometimes doing time-consuming troubleshooting diagnostic work, which some customers may have a hard time feeling is justified. I have always felt that these guys are fair, competent, and communicate with you.Highly recommend.(also, I've not experienced anything like what others who left negative reviews have reported. I got initial estimates, calls with updates and requests to proceed further, and proper invoicing at completion - every time. Straight and professional. I'm not saying those people are lying, just wasn't at all my experience)

Great example of how a business should be run. He had my car for 5 days but needed more time to troubleshoot some more. I needed my car so he just gave it back to me and didn't charge me anything because he wasn't able to locate the issue just yet but he said bring it back to him and he'll figure it out and I am going to do just that. I'm glad there are still a few reputable and honest shops out there! I had just got ripped off by a Facebook clown "technician"

This is a review about Stringfield's Auto Electric being a stand up, honest business.About a year ago, I took my wife's 2003 Honda Accord to Stringfield's Auto Electric to determine if there was a parasitic drain on the battery, because the battery would be dead after the car sat undriven for about three days. Mike thoroughly checked the vehicle and determined that there was no drain, but that I needed a new battery. He sold me an AC Delco battery, saying it was the only brand he sold because he got them fresh, not after they sat in some warehouse for a couple of years. He said if the battery went bad during the warranty period he would replace it.I took my wife's Honda to another garage that I trust for a non-electrical problem. After they fixed the main issue, they told me the battery needed to be replaced. I called Stringfield's and talked with Mike. He said I could come in and he would check the battery and check the car again for a parasitic drain AT NO CHARGE. The next day I brought the car in and he checked it as he said he would. There was nothing wrong with the car or the battery. And it only took him a couple of hours to do it, just enough time for us to have a nice waffle breakfast!Did I mention that I didn't even have my receipt? That technicality didn't stop him from helping me. Mike kept his word about everything he had told me before. I am super-impressed by his service and his honesty. Stringfield's Auto Electric keeps their word about how they back up their work and what they sell. I highly recommend Stringfield's Auto Electric if you need electrical work done on your vehicle.Thank you, Mike!

I highly recommend Stringfield's Auto Electric for tracking down the source of battery power loss. I have an old Toyota that would drain a battery in a matter of weeks, and after spending tons of money elsewhere trying to fix that with no luck, Stringfield's figured it out and fixed it in a matter of a few days. It feels so good to turn the key and have the car actually turn on consistently after their work. Thank you!Services: Battery

I have been a customer of Stringfield’s Auto Electric since 1984. I have always been very happy with their work.A while back while having some electrical work done, Jon (a highly skilled mechanic working there) had mentioned that they have expanded and now do many other repairs on vehicles, not just electrical repair work.WHY I AM NOW SWITCHING TO THEM FOR OTHER (NON-ELECTRICAL) REPAIR ISSUESOver the years I have used a variety of businesses in the Rancho Cordova region for non-electrical issues and I had found one (I will call Business X) that I felt was very competent. On a major trip early this summer, I began to notice a (likely) bearing noise in the rear of the vehicle which would require a hoist for safe diagnosis (my current vehicle is 4WD).Business X (that had partially changed ownership since I last used it) charged me $130 to (allegedly) diagnose the source of the noise. They determined that it was a need for new tires. Four new tires did not eliminate the noise I was hearing. Another of their mechanics then thought it might be the differential and they recommended another business to help diagnose the noise.I was very upset with Business X for not being able to diagnose the noise since they had hoists. I next consulted with Jon at Stringfield’s about the issue and asked for his advice. He said he was very skilled with all the components (including differentials) of my vehicle that could possibly be making the noise. The next work day he road tested it, found the source of the problem, and fixed it that same day. It was a seriously pitted axle where the roller bearing contacts the axle (see attached photos).Had this been a 2WD vehicle I would have been able to diagnose and fix the issue myself. I have repaired this identical damage on two occasions on a former 2WD vehicle.SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION:I am relieved that the problem causing the noise has been found and corrected. The noise of concern is gone. This morning (after thoroughly road testing the vehicle yesterday) I let Jon know how pleased I am that he is now working on more than just electrical issues. Rancho Cordova definitely has at least one highly skilled mechanic who I can turn to in the future for diagnosing and repairing such issues.Services: Battery

Really nice, honest guy, knows what he's doing, and has no intention of trying to upsell or try and get as much money as he can like a lot of chain mechanic shops. Been having jon service my 97 ranger and he's efficient, helpful, and just gets it done 11/10 best mechanic in town.

First of all, Mike is awesome. It can be hard to find people that are knowledgeable, helpful and have good customer service skills and that is Mike. He answered all my questions and went above and beyond for me. I really appreciate his help. Thanks again Mike!
