“It's a nice thrift store inside a furniture store. I'd estimate less than half of the thrifting floor space is for clothes, for better or worse, depending on what treasures you seek. The organization was pretty good by type of garment and not so much on size. I found men’s larges next to women’s smalls or XXLs next to mediums, so don't just pass over a section because its not your size.”
“Wow! What a great buying experience. I recently moved into a new apartment and needed furniture. I visited the website, made a wish list of everything I wanted, and marched over to Furniture Mattress Outlet. I was a little apprehensive walking to the back alley of the store where the main entrance is located now (it used to be at the front where Harbor Freight Tools is now located), but after meeting Eric, all my hesitations went away. Eric is wonderful, gracious, and got me exactly what I needed. He arranged for delivery (I live on the 3rd floor - no elevator!!) and delivered and assembled everything. I could not be happier. And after doing the math, I saved 68% off retail price for all he furniture I got. Insane!! Visit their website because the warehouse does not have a lot of room on the sales floor. But you will not be disappointed. I am one happy customer.”

“I have had some bad experiences at furniture stores. My ikea couches lasted 6 months. My Ashley couch was ok but customer service was non existent.
Almost instantly I was welcomed into the store. I told him my budget and pshhh no problem! He showed me a couch I liked it but he hit me with the “oh wait there’s more!” And I’m glad he did he kept showing me more couches I feel like they got better and better till I finally found one I liked.
I will come back as long as this couch holds up and the quality is good. I will update as time goes on”
“Customer Service Rep. Dan Burke came to the rescue recently, when the glass cover on the overhead light in my DCS BBQ fell out of its housing and shattered on the grate, below. I'd purchased the BBQ two years earlier, but that didn't matter to Dan. He called the DCS rep who provided not just the glass cover, but an entirely new lamp housing at no cost to us. Now, that's customer service, done effortlessly and compassionately! Over the years, we have bought two DCS barbecues, outdoor furniture and umbrellas, and artificial Christmas trees from this store. They have always been knowledgeable, customer focused, fairly priced and helpful beyond expectations. There's a lot to be said for buying from a company like California Backyard ... particularly from their Rancho Cordova store. You might find a cheaper price somewhere else, but you will never find a store or its people who stand by what they sell and stand by their customers as well as California Backyard.”
