I can't say enough great things about this place and the staff. I recommend every camp and event to all ages that qualify because it brings peace and comfort to children of all levels. The staff and volunteers including the teenagers are so welcoming and loving and we just have the best time every time.

Took my toddler to the summer camp and the areas they had for the class could have been kept up a little more. It is dirty, dusty and everything is old/decrepit. I get that they are a ranch and I think they try to stick to that kind of vibe, but for the price I feel it could be maintained a little better.

Do not donate to, or support, Hidden Hills Ranch. As someone with inside, working knowledge of this "non-profit", I strongly discourage anyone from giving money or support to Hidden Hills. They purport to offer a safe-haven for "kids" and "rescue animals", when in fact, they are promoting their own personal interests and agenda, as the owners/founders live on the property which is supported by private donations from the community. The "rescued" farm animals and horses need to be rescued from this property: they do not receive regular veterinary care, sick and injured animals are allowed to suffer without treatment, they do not have adequate shelter, or access to clean water. They have been reported to the SPCA for neglect and mistreatment of their animals. They have intentionally, and irresponsibly bred the rabbits and chickens in their care, which has resulted in the death and injury of the offspring. There is a horrific rodent infestation on the property which has been allowed to persist for years, exposing both animals and young children to rat feces in the animal enclosures. The owners have intentionally eliminated animal care providers and coordinators from their organization because they did not want to be held accountable for the mistreatment of their animals. The owners/founders have stated that the purpose of the animals on their property is solely to "create the image of a farm", not to be well cared for, and therefore it "doesn't matter if they live or die". A great example to illustrate that they are dishonest and self-interested is the fact that they are asking for "sponsors" for deceased animals on their website: Example, "Cody" the Alpaca passed away at the end of February after his illness was neglected for weeks, yet he is on their website as an animal to be sponsored with donations. Do not buy into the carefully-crafted narrative that has been promoted by this organization-- they are manipulative, self-serving, willing to risk the safety of children, and abusive to animals. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, and lifelong animal advocate, I have a professional and ethical responsibility to expose the mistreatment of animals. As a mother, I have an obligation to bring awareness to the safety hazards to children in my community.

Through a military family support group I read that there was a Military Appreciation Breakfast scheduled at the Hidden Hills Ranch during the time I would be visiting my 18 year old Marine son for the first time since he moved to Monterey for a year of training. Not knowing what to expect, I registered the two of us plus my sister, as it said it was for active military, veterans, and their families. What a wonderful experience it was! There were a handful of veterans and quite a lot of active duty service members and their families in attendance. We were blessed with a gorgeous fall day, and there was great music, beautiful friendly farm animals, fresh air, comradery, and a fantastic pancake breakfast. The hostess and host were so warm and welcoming! I look forward to having another reason to come back to the Ranch again next time I'm in the area.

The manager or owner, not sure, Is very very rude. Visitors are not welcome, you have to make an appointment, but it is not apparent from their website. They may have changed it since. We went there from a long ways away, there was no sign at the entrance that visitors are not welcome. But sure enough Amy said we cannot visit the farm. That she has classes going on and we have to get out of there as fast as we can. Our young granddaughter was just looking at the animals from the parking lot and we said we are leaving. We were reminded again quite sternly that we are taking up space with our car and must get out right now. I was floored with the attitude and tried to get put as fast as we can. Asked the rude young women, that if they do not want any of us stupid kind of people, the farm should put a sign at the entrance that no visitors are allowed , and left as fast as we could, two older people in their 70's and a young grandchild age 6. We were surely very dangerous people to be around that Non-profit farm. I am sure this is a great tax write off for the owners.

We just celebrated a birthday party at the Hidden Hills Ranch property and it was very nice. With over 200 animals and 65 acres to roam around this is truly a hidden gem in our backyard. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone considering a future party. Convenient BBQ area, petting zoo, horse rides, large fish pond and much more.. cheers!
