Great customer service. The manager.(name is unknown because she doesn’t have a name tag) showed great customer skills, understanding, and sympathy. The final receipt was issued in the very timely manner. I strongly recommend Hertz in Poway.

Rude rude rude! Recommend renting from somewhere else. Have family come to town and rental smelled heavy of smoke. Manager was not helpful and run to our young family friends!

Horribly unhelpful with swapping out a car within its own class/size I was having issues with. The lot was clearly full at the end of the day, but they are saying they are reserving SPECIFIC cars, NOT types of cars for other people. Seemed like they really didn’t want to deal with the paperwork. I’ve never had issues with any car rental place being so unhelpful. Go elsewhere if you can. I’d stick with Enterprise if you can.
I was even willing to pay more for a bigger or nicer car, but they didn’t seem interested in helping solve the problem at all. They showed no initiative to help a customer.

Came in with issues with the car and requested to get switched out to another vehicle employee told us she couldn’t help us to go somewhere else for help. Don’t go there not helpful at all!

Not recommended, terrible customer service. I booked a rental supposed to pick up on 4/1, when I get there the girl told me the car I booked not available, and I have to pay more to get a different car, so I asked her to cancel my reservation and send me an email confirmation, because I paid when I made the reservation, so I quick book with enterprise which was next door, and better deal. After 3 days, I dropped my car off and stopped by Hertz to find out why I didn't receive the cancellation confirmation, because I have not received the refund. The same lady I was talking to said she didn't know how to cancel and didn't know how to send the cancellation to me, because she was new, so she ask me to call the corporation, Jeez chris I don't have time to call and hold phone for ever, then I asked if I could talk to her manager. She said the manager on vacation won't be there till late this month, and asked me to get out of the building, what a service....when I told her you have no service and I will report, you know what she said: Good luck to that....I felt bad for the business, why next door much more business, because their service really good, plus price better than Hertz....

When returning my rental car to Hertz, I noticed that one front tire was almost bald.* Take a look at the tires before you drive away with your rental. The employee was annoyed that I mentioned the poor condition of the tire. Anyway, don't assume everything is fine before you leave the lot.

Would caution anyone from renting from hertz in Poway. Made a reservation to pick up on Saturday at noon though the hertz app. I called in the morning right as it opened to confirm my reservation, which the computer generated operator said no reps were available because the location was closed. I Showed up two minutes after 12 to pick up the car and the customer rep said he couldn't help because they were closed. If hertz wants to be petty with their hours then fine, but atleast have your location be able to answer the phone. Additionally their door shows they are closed on weekends. No consistency with their open hours. Unprofessional business

Helpful and pleasant start, but it's hard to enter and exit the location given all the traffic and adjacent construction. The few cars I have rented here could have been cleaner inside and out. However, the selection of cars is good and the price is fair since there are no airport location markups.

Hertz completely screwed me over more than once in the duration of my rental period. Not only did two people on the corporate team give me misinformation when I got a flat tire and created more stress for me but the team member at the Poway, CA location also screwed me over. I was in a rental through insurance because of an accident and Hertz gave me the most expensive car, without giving me an option, and insurance could not cover the car the whole period I needed a rental. I didn't learn of this until I had tried to extend my rental period (which the agent at the time of getting the rental car had said I had enough insurance coverage to extend the rental). Had Hertz allowed me to pick a cheaper car, I would've had the whole rental period covered insurance. This whole rental period has been very stressful, expensive & unnecessarily complicated because of Hertz. I will never be renting from Hertz again and recommending to all my friends & family to go with other rental companies.
