Back again for our third or fourth visit because you can’t beat this Hampton Inn. Several employees stood out on this recent visit: Adrien and Dante had friendly conversation and winning smiles, Esmeralda was helpful and friendly and Teo was awesome. We chatted with the manager, Mr Fleming, and he asked if there was anything he could do to make our stay more comfortable. Nothing- from the hot oatmeal in the morning to the comfortable beds at night, we had no complaints. We’re planning to stay here again next time we’re in Poway.
Rooms: Couch and two beds and roomy bathroom

Everything about this place was perfect. Ivan at the front desk is such a nice person who went out of his way to make me happy.

Please be aware this hotel now charges for parking, something that is NOT disclosed during booking. They also require you to use a seperate app to pay, which is beyond stupid. $15 per night plus a $1 service charge. We have stayed here regularly since we have family in the area but will now be taking our business elsewhere.

The hotel and rooms are great and freshly redecorated. A very typical Hampton Inn. However, I am flabbergasted that they would be allowed to charge a surprise $15 a day for parking (don't forget the $1 processing fee which ...well also can't be avoided cause there is no other way to pay for parking except the QR code). This is a very suburban location - not a downtown city location where all parking is paid. There is absolutely no reason this is not disclosed at booking or included in the booking rate through Hilton. It is outrageous when you are line-itemed at a franchisee hotel - I have no idea how Hilton could allow this to be consistent with the branding of this chain. What in the world is the point in having the "easy online check in skip the desk" when you pull in at 11 PM from traveling all day to find out you have to stop and pay for parking a lot that was 2/3 empty. I am just floored that this is allowed to happen - a true shakedown. Like.. what are my other options after not knowing til pulling in the lot ?

Absolutely nightmare location for Hampton Inn. Incredibly noisy, children running through halls, pounding on doors. Poor quality breakfast. Surprise $15/day parking fee is crazy. Employees don't care about noise. Just a horrible place to stay. Learn from our dismay and stay somewhere else. Hampton Inn has lost control of this property.
EDIT: The canned response from the manager shows how indifferent they are. The parking is an all-out cash grab, you can't even get out of your car without being hounded for cash. I told the front desk a number of times about the noise, and they flatly ignored the issue. The breakfast area was filthy, as there was nobody staffing it. A number of food items were gone with more than an hour left in breakfast. Where are the staff in this hotel???
Walkability: Absolutely not walkable. Nothing around.

This is a very nice hotel with a very reasonable rate. However , the person at the front desk was completely inept. Although we had already used the digital key system to check in, She gave us a different room. The first room we were given only had one queen bed when we had reserved two , so we had to go back. The second room was already occupied, and my sister in law used her key to walk in on a man getting dressed. The third room wasn't quite yet ready yet, so there was a bit of a wait. In addition to these fall pause , they charged my wife's credit card seventeen dollars for something she did not purchase. When I spoke to the person who checked them in her excuse was that our last name was similar to someone else's. These mistakes were not only an inconvenience but a serious security breach. I did get an opportunity to speak to the manager on the phone a couple of days later and she apologized profusely but even she could not manage to reverse the fraudulent charge so I had to do that through the credit card company. It's very unfortunate how one bad employee can destroy a reputation.

The hotel is fine - clean and a good breakfast area. They won’t get the full five from me due to parking. It was a $16/day surprise from the advertised room rate. It it was a city parking lot, I would understand. It wasn’t. It was a giant suburban lot with plenty of spaces. So a money grab that isn’t disclosed until you arrive.

Bed head had stains. Beds were super hard and uncomfortable. Made my back and neck hurt. Guest service were great. Pool was nice.
Nearby activities: Restaurants near by. Nice area away from the city

Stayed here for about a week while visiting SeaWorld, SD zoo & safari park & this hotel didnt disappoint. It was clean quiet and the staff was very helpful and hospitable. You are about 20min from all 3 parks but the big plus is that poway is a quiet community and the restaurants are are the best. I would definitely stay here again vs dealing with downtown SD area. You wont be disappointed

I like their breakfast. They had cooked oatmeal instead of the instant type. Pool was nice but we didn’t get to swim. We were just too busy.
Rooms: The rooms were nice, but the faucet knobs were very loose and were sometimes unresponsive.
Noteworthy details: I like the virtual checkin and checkout. I also like the app with the virtual key.
